3 Finishing the Anteverse

A wave of hot air (not actually sure if this is air) passed over me as the nuke went off in the cloning facility. I could see behind me that everything within… I just realized telling distance is friggin tough if you're a giant creature in an alien environment. But everything within a distance a few times longer than I am, was consumed in an orange explosion of plasma and nuclear fury.

The sky in this place already sported an orangey red burning planet on the horizon- like a giant eye of Sauron was placed here to peer down upon the planet. Yet even it was briefly outshined by the blindingly bright Jaegers end.

With my eyesight, I was just able to spot a few bipedal beings on a platform looking up toward the Jaeger just before it happened. Poor.crispy.bastards.

When the glow began to fade, I was able to witness the giant mushroom cloud that was still occasionally flashing with lightning. The facility that used to be underneath it having been reduced to smithereens.

A shame. I started flying around the planet and began inspecting the place over- instinctually being able to tell that it feels a bit smaller than Earth, while simultaneously feeling more homely due to the presence of a heavily polluted ocean covering most of the planet. The few cities I did spot were tall and foggy… similar to New Alexandria from Halo. I made sure to cause some chaos in every single one I saw, if only to elicit a response.

But the longer I flew around, the less hope I had that there were even any Kaiju left. A thought that may have jinxed me…

*Bzzz*

Hmm?

*Bzzzzzzzzzz*

The hell is that noise?

*BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ*

I looked up from the currently burning city I was causing havoc in- and up into a giant cloud of green so dark it was almost black. Millions of flying insects, perhaps even billions. And they were all likely larger than a school bus.

Oh sweet christ!

I switched to breathing fire as fast as I could, and aimed the bluish green flame up and into the swarm- burning hundreds, yet the majority simply swerved around it and converged downward toward me.

I had good defense, but just like the nuke, I wasn't intending to test it out. At least not when I still had better options. I took to the sky before they could reach me, and tried to circle around the swarm to whittle them down-

*BOOM*

-Only to be tackled back out of the sky by a rapidly decloaking flying Kaiju. It looked like a mix between a dragon and a wasp, and despite being only half my size- had managed to latch onto one of my arms and was ripping into the membrane of my wing. I shoved my other arm under its ribcage and started slashing away, but it seemed determined to tear at my wing no matter what.

Before hitting the ground, I swung around so that it was beneath me- and thus had my entire weight hitting it as I used it to cushion the fall. The impact rattled me a tad, but didn't really do much damage. The same couldn't be said for the Wasp Dragon, as the impact had caused its organs to spill out from the gashes on its stomach and also be pushed out of its mouth. It was very dead… but I twisted its head to make sure.

But I was now on the ground, with a shredded tarp of a wing, and a giant swarm of mutant bugs only a few seconds away from reaching me. Well… time to test some of my abilities. I activated Sonic Roar while aiming at the swarm.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

A few hundred bugs at the front dropped to the ground- dead or otherwise I'm not sure, but it didn't make a difference in the overall numbers. And by now it was too late for more tests. The swarm was upon me, as I began breathing fire and spinning around to swipe and claw and crush and swat at everything I could.

I tried using my Command ability, yet it didn't make a difference.

I had to close my mouth and eyelids after a short period- so many bugs there were, that they were trying and succeeding at overpowering my flames with sheer force of numbers, and I shuddered to think about what would happen should they flood down my throat. I'm just glad every other opening was heavily armored. I was still able to sense them even without sight.

I could feel thousands of them trying to bite through my skin, and was extra glad to have such a strong body, yet even still it felt like ants biting everywhere at once- and my other wing which had been relatively intact until now was torn to shreds.

I figured out that the Electrodermal mutation was a godsend- with its use actually guaranteeing me a chance of survival- even if I did have to use every bit of power I'd accumulated with Battery-Powered to keep it active.

And so, several hours passed by with the horde being unrelenting, eventually I lost one of my lesser tails… then an eye… then another eye. And worst of all, I lost half of the arm that had been softened up by the Wasp Dragon.

But… I had survived. The final few members of the swarm had been crushed and I was still standing. I let out a roar of triumph and stubborn determination.

"RAAAAAAHHHH-PAPAPA-THUMMMM"

However, I was caught off guard when seconds later it was answered by 2 other calls- as from the destroyed city emerged 2 more Kaijus.

You've got to be kidding me…

Even in my rather shitty state, 2 regular Kaijus wouldn't be much of an issue, but… One of these ones is eerily similar to the Mega Kaiju from the second Pacific Rim movie… and the other is even bigger than that, and is bipedal. {AN - The size the Mega Kaiju is stated as being is flat out wrong, so if you see the wiki and think "Wait shouldn't they be smaller?". No. The wiki is lying.}

I'll fight them… but not yet, I grabbed the Wasp Dragon with my tail and ran for the nearby ocean. 95% of this world was water, and I doubt they had enough Kaiju on hand to flood the entire ocean. It'd buy me time.

And so months went by, with me recovering and fighting off the occasional Kaiju. Most were basically fodder and died without being able to even scratch me, and I used them to fuel my growth. Having acquired the Wasp Dragons ability to hide from most senses, they never saw me coming… and those that did only saw a single second of my jaws crushing their skulls.

Years went by, and the number of Kaiju in the ocean sky-rocketed. A bit back I'd fought an Axolotl-like Kaiju and gained a regeneration mutation, an actual lifesaver with the constant battles. It was strong enough to actually heal from having its neck snapped, and had caught me off guard and clubbed me on the head. It didn't actually deal much damage, and I made sure to tear it in half this time. Still… handy.

I also made sure to pop out of the oceans occasionally and cause as much mayhem as possible, before backing off once the Mega Kaijus got close. I was slowly but surely narrowing down every possible Kaiju production facility.

After reaching about 500m in length, I'd stopped growing- size wise at least. In strength, I was rapidly climbing with all of the mutations. And I felt like I was getting closer and closer to reaching a certain threshold.

The mutations though, had begun dropping off after a bit- with only particularly strong or noteworthy opponents being able to give me anything.

A few such Mutations I'd received were called Venomous Spines and Razor Sharp Teeth, their effects were pretty self explanatory, and it came from an absolutely humongous eel that had tried to swallow me. I'd of course gutted the fucker, but its long needle-like teeth had been sharp enough to pierce me all over, and the damn things were covered in venom. Only after having eaten it did I feel like I wasn't going to lock up and die.

Another notable addition was Extra Arms, a mutation that pushed my formerly primary arms further upward, before growing a mostly identical pair underneath them- making it so that I now possessed 4 arms in total. Though sadly the new arms didn't possess wings. This mutation came from the largest Kaiju yet, a colossal multi-armed and tentacled Leviathan slightly similar to Slattern. Strangely it also seemed rather unstable and just killed anything in sight- even other Kaijus. Which made killing it doable once it was distracted. I still needed a while to grow an arm and all my tails back after fighting it though.

Yet after eating it I'd managed to reach my next Evolution threshold- something I'd been anticipating for a while and had created multiple lairs for the express purpose of. If I fell asleep out in the open I'd be gutted by the numerous wandering Kaiju. Because of this I made sure to drag my meals away and into safety whenever possible. So when the message popped up…

[Evolving…]

…I was ready.

I slumbered in my underground cave- a rather sneaky place hidden under the radioactive ruins of the original Breach. All the while unaware of the panic my disappearance caused toward this world's inhabitants- who for the entire duration scoured the planet and created new countermeasures against me.

Wake the fuck up, samurai. We have a city to burn.

'I'm back bitches!'

Still don't like that. Now, where was I?

That's… a lot. 9 years… damn. I seem to have shrunk quite a bit during that time… yet I feel so much stronger. My body was now covered in a mixture of plating and scales, all of which were tough enough to the point where I could barely pierce them with my new sharper claws, yet flexible enough that I could still be relatively acrobatic.

My top set of arms was now a lot larger than my bottom pair, which also meant my wings were absolutely enormous. Other changes included my front horns being changed into a single, sharp central horn similar to a rhino- removing my centrally placed nostrils in favor of 2 nose holes either side.

My tail was basically back to how it was near the beginning, if a lot longer and deadlier since I could feel how much stronger and sharper it was. The slight cut I'd made with my claws had healed in a few seconds- leaving no clues that I'd even been injured. The bit of blood I'd leaked had been a blue so dark it was practically black, and had melted through the stone around me with ease.

I tried out Lesser Dragon Breath, and it was remarkably similar to dragons in Skyrim- where it was similar to a beam and bright as the sun. It might also be just as hot as the sun… since it had carved a rather large hole into the ground with minimal effort, and everything in front of me glowed white, red or orange. At first I was sad that I could no longer fire a plasma, acid or liquid nitrogen shot… yet the moment I used it while thinking about this, my flames switched color to match my desire. To an icy blue flame that froze everything. To a fluorescent green that simply ate through the stone and kept going for a while… and finally, to a white flame that caused the rocks to boil and turn into steam.

Curiously, I didn't feel bothered by this heat- as if it felt natural and comfortable.

…Definitely gonna bag me a volcano. Moving on.

I tried to feel what REDACTED Chosen did, and so far as I could tell, I could simply absorb energy passively with it, or use it actively at my discretion. And that meant every energy I could test- the heat from my flames, the flames themselves, the radiation still present around me, and when I'd reached the surface, the light itself- causing my surroundings to start flickering violently.

There were still other changes, but this was enough testing for now. I think I'm ready to pay the last stronghold a visit. Before my hibernation, I'd narrowed down the final cloning facility- the largest island I'd seen by far, with Kaiju swarming in the surrounding sea, air and land. With luck, they'd not have moved in the time since I was gone.

I shot into the air and above the clouds- breaking the sound barrier on my way up and again on my way over. No more hiding. Flying around, I could already tell something was wrong- as I passed over cities I was able to see multiple Kaiju having made themselves homes out of the ruins, and I also saw the bugs that swarmed me being as common as flies. Out of curiosity I tested out my Command skill, and to my surprise it actually worked, I could give basic commands so long as it didn't go against their own interests too much. But why now?

As I flew over the sea that feeling of wrongness intensified. It was still full of Kaiju… but they were like the Leviathan I'd fought going back, the one that was too aggressive and had too little control. And is that?… it is!

One of them had a smaller version of itself following it around! They could breed!

When I reached the island I finally understood what had happened. The fortress had already fallen, being nothing but a decrepit ruin with the occasional Kaiju skeleton dotting the landscape. No wonder my commands worked when there was nobody left to control them!

These dumbasses had accidentally done a Jurassic Park! Nature finds a way eh?

I can probably chalk this up to them getting so paranoid about me, that they loosened restrictions to create the deadliest Kaiju possible- leading to some of them not listening to commands and killing them all.

I could feel that, on this island at least, there were 3 Kaiju remaining… 2 of them being very familiar to me, and the other an unknown. I flew over to greet my old pals… the Mega Kaiju.

Seems they had stuck together like old times, with both of them digging into another Kaiju corpse. I folded my wings in and dived down in front of them- unfolding my wings at the last moment and slamming into the ground.

"RAAAAAAAA!"

'KNOCK KNOCK!'

I was smaller than them originally, let alone now that my body had been condensed. And while both Kaiju did roar back, I could tell it was with obvious contempt. That changed very quickly.

"SHRRRIIIINNNNGGG"

With a casual breath of plasma, I severed the bipedal Mega Kaijus left arm- simultaneously cauterizing the wound closed and causing severe burns along the left side of its body. It screamed out in agony while the other one charged me instantly.

I ran at it headlong, and wasn't surprised that when our clash met… the Mega Kaiju was pushed back. Smaller I may be, but I'm heavier, stronger and a MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON!

I stood on my hind legs while grabbing both of the Mega Kaijus arms with my larger top arms, I also activated Electrodermal and shocked the bastard, then began tearing into its underbelly with my lower arms while charging another plasma breath.

Before the other Kaiju could even help its friend, I had followed the example of Mecha-Godzilla and split my victim down the middle. This is what had me worried?! This- this… Pathetic excuse for a creature is what I was working so hard to fight?!

I was angry now. And before the bipedal Mega Kaiju could get close enough to attack me, I bathed it too in plasma, and watched as it too fell without having been a challenge. I almost didn't want to eat them because they had been so weak.

But I forced myself anyway. At least in death they serve a use.

Along my back and along my tail I grew sharp spikes of bone, just underneath the grabber at the end of my tail I grew multiple thorns filled with a deadly venom… yet most important of all- I grew 2 extra brains… which combined with my Tri-Minded mutation made it so that I could think about 9 separate subjects at once.

Of course I'll just ignore the agony that accompanied these new changes. I've got something a bit more important at the moment.

*BOOM*

Behind me landed the final Kaiju on this island, I'd felt it observing the battle, and it had waited until the end to show up. I turned to face it and…

What in the goddamn…

It was a dragon, a black one covered in scales and plating with a majestic crest covering its head. It was smaller than the Mega Kaiju, yet I could feel that it was quite a bit stronger. There's also one problem… That's a fucking Xenomorph!

But… it wasn't showing me any hostility. And it seemed to be releasing a friendly rumbling noise as I noticed its tail moving back and forth. What's it do- Oh. Right. The Kaiju all start off as female. We're both dragons, or at least dragon-like. And she's a female while I'm a male…

NO DICE!

I shot out a plasma breath while aiming for her head, which hit but aside from making the crest glow a dull red didn't cause any damage. She instantly flew into a rage and charged me while firing her own breath attack- a highly corrosive green mist which caused me to start feeling itchy all over.

Come on, even her attacks are reminiscent of a Xenomorph!

We clashed and began tearing into each other- claws and teeth sliding off of each other's armor as we both sought out each other's weak points. She was larger, stronger and heavier, but I was sporting several unique advantages that evened the odds.

Her skin was too thick for Electrodermal to make much of a difference, and our tails were keeping each others busy- mine being stopped from throwing any of my new barbs or grabbing her, and hers being stopped from swinging around to hit me. I was able to catch her off guard though- when my bottom arms deployed swords over our locked together fists and stabbed her in the chest.

She let out a screech, but pushed through the pain to move backward and drag me with her as she spun around and threw me into some nearby ruins- which she then flooded with acidic fog. As I got up, my face was hit by her tail and sent me flying further back- several teeth breaking in the process.

She didn't get off scot free though, since I'd had my own tail grab onto hers as I was thrown, making it so that a massive cut now ran down her side. We both faced each other once again, I had a twisted arm, severe acid burns and a bleeding mouth, she had 2 cuts on her chest, and a gash down her tail. We were both injured, but this was already over, as my injuries were already healing, while she lost more blood.

Again we clashed, this time more viciously than before- constantly tearing chunks out of one another as neither backed down while blue and green blood spilled around us. She was able to tear off one of my wings, and in return I'd been able to bite her shoulder and inject thousands of gallons of acid and venom. It kept going like this, as both of us took wounds that would kill any lesser beings… but not us, as for hours straight we battled all over the island.

Eventually I was barely able to pull ahead, my healing being able to keep me going. While beneath my claws she lay, barely breathing and coughing blood. She… was a worthy opponent, not just due to strength, but because she had actually used everything at her disposal, and used it well. I may be the winner, yet I had lost limbs, eyes, organs, armor, blood and bone in enough quantities to kill a regular creature 10 times over.

I stabbed my claws under her chin and through her skull- ending her life. I may have killed her for my own growth, but she didn't deserve cruelty. Eating her corpse was a rather exciting yet quiet experience. I was excited at every new mutation that I received, all of them strong, yet I couldn't help but go over how close this battle had been. Were it not for regeneration, this would have been my end. I didn't like that. It made me feel weak… and that was unacceptable.

While waiting for my body to recover, I began testing what she'd granted me. Thick Skulled was obvious, yet amazingly useful, since I liked having my primary brain in one piece. Biomechanical was a bit strange- making it so that any robot abilities no longer seemed unnatural, as it changed them to the point where they worked about the same, yet were clearly biological- Like my Jump Jets now causing my skin to shift into bone ports spewing flames, or my Deployable Sword now being a sharp bone spike I could eject like wolverine. Exoskeleton simply combined with my regular armor to make me even tougher. Attack Tongue actually changed my tongue to be extra long and capable of injecting venom, yet also tough enough to maneuver it to lift objects or do unconventional attacks.

I could even launch it like a chameleon to grab things! Needless to say, I had quite a lot of fun testing it out.

A few days later, I was back to new, and headed for the island's center. I flew above the remains of the cloning facility. Wrecked as it was, it was still surrounded by over a hundred Kaiju remains, and I could smell that this is where the Xeno Dragon had made her home.

Diving down to land among the ruins, I could feel myself being drawn to the center. Hmm… Digging around for a few hours uncovered the equivalent of a giant elevator shaft leading down. There better not be another boss fight.

The shaft wasn't wide enough for me to fit, and was extremely deep. It took me an hour of burrowing before I saw a green and blue glow coming from the bottom. Emerging from the tunnel I appeared in a giant facility… with a Partially formed Kaiju taking up most of the space in a colossal vat, and a single alien scientist standing before it and looking back at me.

I could be wrong, but it appeared almost frustrated and sad to see me. This was clearly their last ditch effort to kill me, the tank containing a Kaiju that seemed to be a mix between a Dragon and a centipede… and it was large enough to grasp me in a single clawed hand. Yet despite that it was clearly not yet fully grown, and I wasn't foolish enough to wait.

I turned the scientist to ash before closing in on the vat, punching through it and stabbing the Kaijus head, even then it didn't die, as I had to destroy 6 more brains and crush 3 hearts before it finally passed. I then spent a week straight eating the thing, before feeling tired as my body reached a milestone.
