Lightning Strike

I and Kiara decided not to go to the temple immediately. I told Kiara to firstly absorb as much of the elemental cores, that she collected from the beasts she killed herself, as possible. Of course the water and lightning types or something similar to them first, the reason to that being that they would benefit her greater than other types.

I would have given her the water and lightning type elemental cores that belonged to the beasts I killed, but now that I have those two elements as well, I definetly won't be too humble.

I, for whatever reason, came to trust Kiara even more over the past week or so, we were sleeping, eating and hunting together, which made us trust each other way more than previously.

I decided it wouldn't hurt me if I used my other elements in front of her, I mean she definetly won't leave my side, just as she stated previously, she can't leave me alone, because I look lonely or whatever... I don't... do I? Anyways I have to train my other elements as well and me being who I am, the empires generals son... a lot of things might be revealed later on anyway. So what's the point hiding something. I came out to become stronger, and not to hide.

And for some reason, I am sure... I am sure 98% that my father sent at least a few people to spy or look out for me... so they definetly saw everything from beginning to now... not to mention the princess... I am not so naive as to think that she would be let out alone out of the palace not to mention out of the capital into some unknown temple that was the liar of some suspicious demonic Cult.

Yeahhhh, somebody is definetly watching her every move, and because I am with her for a long time now, they have seen a lot of my abilities too...

Anyways, Kiara is now sitting in a lotus position and absorbing as much of the elemental cores into her as possible. And as she did that, I stood guard.

After a few hours of meditation and absorbing she managed to surprisingly, for the both of us, break through to the 3rd Order.

"Did you just..?" I turned around and looked at her with disbelief in my eyes after sensing that her aura changed dramatically.

"...aha" she nodded after a little pause and looked at my face that had no mask on, I took it off when we reached the forest after crossing the giant plains, because my face started to swell a lot, and I didn't look very ... pretty, when I took it off, but my face returned to normal after a day or so.

"...how though? there weren't any 3rd order beasts or the sort, the highest we could find here was lower 2nd order..." I asked her, not understanding how she suddenly broke through so quickly, entirely forgetting how much of an anomaly I am myself.

"I guess... I guess the last Elemental Cores I absorbed belonged to beasts with the same element as me... the Pure Aqua Element" Kiara said thoughtfully. "That is the only possible explanation"

"What explanation? this doesn't explain anything!" I grew even more confused than before.

"What? oh my god you dummy, didn't you go to the academy were you would have been taught these things?" Kiara raised her brows.

"... I .. I actually never did.. I was taught everything by my parents" I smiled at her innocently.

"um.. okay, nearly same, I was taught by my big brothers" Kiara didn't seem surprised by my explanation. "I see they taught you everything but the basics huh... well, think of it like this. If I absorb a core with the exact same element as mine I will get a lot of um... let's call it energy, I will get lots of energy, but if I absorb a core with an element that I don't have and is nothing similar to what I have, I will get triple less energy than what I would have gotten with a core with my element."

"..yeah I know that.." I said not understanding why the hell she just told me the thing I already knew.

"Oh my god..... PATIENCE KID" Kiara rolled her eyes.

"You want a bucket again?" I asked her with an icy expression.

"ah... um.. no thank you... uhh..sorry..?" Kiara remembered the bucket situation and smiled innocently, 'where the heck would he get a bucket of water in the middle of nowhere?... oh right he has some kind of water element... OH MY GOD KIARA, WHY DONT YOU SHUT UP FOR A SEC… but wait, I am a princess how dare he behave like that with me' Kiara remembered who she is… 'I can only imagine the look on Sonya's face if she knew... the bucket situation hehehe .. she would really kill him wouldn't she ..'

"So? continue what you wanted" I then said.

Kiara stopped daydreaming and continued, "where did I stop.. ah yes, so basically if I had the simple element of water I wouldn't even get double of the energy that I would receive absorbing, for example, rock element core that does not relate to me at all. so basically non relevant elemental core equals to little energy, similar element core to mine equals to a little more energy, an elemental core that is the exact same as mine but isn't that rare in the world, common even, it gives nearly double the energy, but if my elemental core is very rare, one in a million, it will give triple the energy."

"You are very bad at explaining, you know?" I told her out of nowhere, although I understood what she said I still kind of had the urge to tease the girl a little.

"OH MY GOD YOU ARE SO ANNOYING, did you understand at least a little of what I explained?" Kiara felt helpless being stuck alone with me.

I shook my head as if to say I didn't understand anything, although it was entirely a lie and an act of mine, "By the way, not only you are bad at explaining, you aren't even behaving like a real princess should... I am kind of disappointed to be perfectly honest with you right now" I shook my head as if in disappointment.

Kiara suddenly raised her hand with a dark expression on her face, "Lightning strike"

"Fu-" I cursed before trying to somehow evade.

Lightning struck right where I was sitting just a second ago. The lightning created by a 2nd Order existence normally was made from the castors own mana, and if it were a 3rd Order element core, the lightning would be at least comparable to a natural lightning strike, which I couldn't dodge in any way with my current capabilities.

Of course, I got lightning and heat resistance ability.... but I would still feel some kind of pain which I don't want to feel at all.

Luckily it was just a 2nd Order, and I could dodge with little to no difficulty.

"What the hell are you doing you crazy woman!" I shouted after the lightning strike struck the ground.

And just a moment later I heard again, "Lightning strike" Kiara was pointing her index finger at me again"

"WHAT THE HECK SOMEBODY HELP-" I screamed while lightning strikes started to strike me one after another.
