Core Absorbtion

[10 years later]

It has been 10 years since my system activated and i gained the Element of Space. I am currently 16 years old and in these 10 years of staying inside my mansion and only going to our personal training grounds, I obtained and leveled up a few skills related to space.

It has been really hard to make the abilities that i wanted out of my imagination and what i understood, it took a few years to perform some of the skills not to mention figuring out the best way to train and actually train them.

Right now i am sure that I am stronger than anyone in my order and realm, which stayed the same over the years. First Order lower realm...

but i am not feeling down about it, me having the skills of one of the most powerful elements there could exist, i should be stronger than the existences that are higher realm than me and should be able to defeat them with ease.

Or not..

My father told me what i need the most right now is combat experience, but about that later.

...I might have created some pretty useful and powerful skills and raised my stats to how much i currently could and even got a talent called heightened senses through constantly trying to perceive space around me...

And there is , not so funny of a story about my two obtained resistances. The fear and fall damage resistances. While i was trying to create the skill [Space Steps]..

[Space Steps]

By condensing parts of space around you, you can step on them and look as if you are walking on air.

I fell down from high up nearly every time i condensed too many steps and forgot to dissolve them after stepping on them, or I just condensed them too weakly and stepped on nothing. And out of that fear of death by falling, after a few months of doing that, I gained the fear resistance and by smacking into the ground so many times which made me seriously injured UNCOUNTABLE amounts of times, I also gained the resistance to fall damage.

I WILL NEVER EVER REVEAL TO ANYONE THAT I HAVE THEM AND NOT TO MENTION HOW I EVEN OBTAINED THEM... its just too embarrassing.

"This is the longest time i have ever seen someone creating their skills... Well considering you having such a hard to understand and control element its not so surprising..But even if you took a much, much longer time, you are still definetly the most powerful in your realm so you can be proud of that.. As expected of my son HAHAHA" Adam said that being obviously more proud of himself than his son

"Even if I am, I still need to evolve to greater realms and Orders in order to catch up to you in power so we can finally spar, so i never really asked, but.. how does one advance to the next realm?" I asked curiously.

"By absorbing others mana cores" My father replied

".....huh?" i tilted my head "how?"

"By killing and finding their mana cores inside their bodys of course" My dads smile grew wider as he said those words

My mind goes blank for a second.

Killing?

OTHER HUMANS?

OH HELL NAH

"Don't look at me like that, I am only joking, well partially..." Adam smiled again while looking away.

"..explain" I said grimly

"You have to absorb monster cores to reach new heights" He smiled again looking straight at my eyes.

"COULDN'T YOU SAY THAT FROM THE START?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?" I yell out at him.

"Well in my defence, i never said one should kill humans... I mean its still possible to absorb human cores but they don't bring the same benefits one could gain from other species and if you do you become a mindless bloodthirsty beast. That is why nobody practices such things anymore and I do not approve of them whatsoever" My father said while remembering something from his distant memories

I noticed this, but i did not pry into his seemingly sad past.

"..soo, couldn't you buy me some beast cores for me, so i could... i don't know... absorb them AND BECOME STRONGER?! WE AREN'T THAT POOR NOW, ARE?!" I felt defeated while saying that.

"We aren't poor. But my son isn't that weak to not be able to get them himself, is he? And besides, I wouldn't be against buying you some monster cores for you, its just that if you become strong but without any real life or death fighting experiences, you wouldn't reach your full potential. And that wouldn't amount to much now would it?" My father replied with not so much thinking.

It seems he has already thought about everything LONG AGO.

Well I can't argue with him, because everything he said is true.. but its still kind of upsetting to be perfectly honest with myself..

"Okay so if i do obtain one, how do you absorb it?" I asked

I hope it won't be some stupid meditation kind of absorbing, which just takes too long like in those novels i have read before when i still lived on earth.

"Meditation" Adam replied with one word.

My jaw dropped and my mind went blank the... 3rd?.. time today already..

I sigh in defeat and ask:

"So where should I get that life or death fighting experience you just talked about?"
