Did I Just Curse Us?

Sage would have really really hated me if I told her what I was thinking, considering the fact that we almost got ourselves killed. Basically, I was just thinking about how we should have some action here when out of no where...

"AAAAAAAAAAAH"

There was this woman shrieking. It sounded like it came from all directions.

At first, we all split up and rushed to different directions to see what was happened and who was the poor woman in danger. When we had walked for 20 minutes or so, we discorvered that something was wrong. I may be slow when It comes to using my brain, but hey, even my brain would realize that there was somethng wrong in this situation.

First, the voice sounded like it came from all directions (I've already mentioned that) so it doesn't really make sense.

Second, the place was very quiet after we had split up.

Third, who would be in this forest at this hour?

and lastly, the most suspiscious thing of all...Sage had said that this forest has a boundary around it, mortals can't enter. 

So...the scream couldn't have come from a mortal.

THIS. WAS. A. TRAP

It was stupid for us to split up in the first place!

Without thinking, I turned around and started to run to where we had come from.

To late. I was stuck.

Two people...or what I assumed were people were surrounding me.

Great, I thought, I'm the most weak yet I have to face this alone? What kind of logic is that?

Or maybe that was the point.

I started to panic. What should I do? I don't have anyone to help me, and I don't think I can escape. 

I looked at the people frantically. Why were things going like this?

I took a deep breath. Calm down Coral, I told myself, maybe this was a blessing in diguise. A chance for me to train myself.

No, just run, I small voice at the back of the head nagged me, there is no point in fighting, you're weaker than them.

I almost started to run, but Sage's voice came back to me. When we were training, she had said, when you face danger, calm down and look at the situation. Don't think of escaping, think of a strategy and put it into good use.

No, I must not run. I told the small voice.

I scanned the surroundings, and I found what I was looking for. A branch the height I needed exactly. It was low enough for me to jump on, but too high for the people to attack me from. 

An idea came up to my head.

A perfect strategy.

I charged straight ahead, where the branch was located.

The two people were startled by my sudden action, without thinking, they dodged.

Part 1 - Successful.

I started running faster, I mught have shocked them but they will come for me soon.

The two people started chasing me, they were faster than they looked like they were. Thank goodness, they didnt realise I was going for the branch.

The people were catching up.

No, I must run faster.

Thankfully, I arrived at the branch just in time. Their attacks missed me.

Part 2 - Successful.

I sat down on the branch panting. Looking at the two people mockingly. What I sa was shcoking. They had the figure of a woman but their faces...Looked as if they were mad. I decided not to look at them. I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe...

Oop, wrong move. I had lowered my guard down.

I thought I could rest for a while, but seems like I was too dumb.
