1 Betrayal

"I dare you, what can you do?" A fragile lady with a bruised face said, anger boiling in her as she glared at the man sitting on the couch with a deadly glare.

There were two guards stationed beside her, each at alert, ready to take action if Henry commanded it. After figuring out her plans today, he was going to force her to stamp away her inheritance.

Despite knowing she should have run away the moment her father lusted over her wealth, she was stupid enough to stay. Her life revolved around the constant abuse her fiancée pestered her with. One time, he was the nicest person, but whenever she refused him sex, he would go wild and beat her to a pulp.

She was never a weak person, she knew some defense skills, but the fear of the worst thing that could happen was making her hesitate. Her father would kill her, and claim it was an accident, and there would be no one to go against him because he is the Alpha.

Her wealth would be snatched away from her, and she would be given a measly funeral event, which she didn't want. She was an illegitimate daughter of the Alpha, one that came from a promiscuous woman. Her reputation in the pack didn't change despite being successful, so she was sure many would rejoice from her death.

"There is a lot to do with you, just stamp the papers first darling." He smirked mischievously and patted the hair of the blonde woman seated beside him. He hated the fact that she carried herself elegantly, compared to the other women who would throw themselves at him.

Staring blankly at him, Angel pondered how someone caring could become this evil after getting engaged to him. Was it always his plan to get engaged to her?

"What? Wanna join?" He asked and busted into laughter. No matter how much she struggled, she was going to be his eventually.

He was handsome, had power, and was going to be the next Alpha, everything about him was enticing but she wouldn't acknowledge him and it irked him. The more she refused him, the more he felt the urge to abuse her both physically and mentally.

Since she was small, he had a liking for her and now that he was getting married to her, he wasn't going to let her dictate for him.

"Henry, I am begging you, I would do anything you want but don't torture me like this," she begged, tears streaming profusely out of her eyes. If only she hadn't trusted anyone, she wouldn't be in this predicament.

"Henry, I think we should go easy on her. My lady is easily agitated, she might hurt herself before you do." The woman sitting beside Henry said, acting like she was feeling sorry for her but Angel knew it was a lie.

She was Angel's maid in the pack and she was the one who betrayed her. She told Henry about Angel's escape plans and found her way into Henry's arms, with the plan's information. She had always suspected the hatred in her maid, she just didn't know it was to this extent. But why do people hate her for no reason?

"She deserves it, and thanks to you, I am alive. I wouldn't let her go free now that I escaped death," Henry answered, sneering at Angel.

Scoffing, "What do you know about death?!" She muttered, finding his words amusing. Every day of her life in this pack was like dying repeatedly, his life was a fantasy, the word Death shouldn't even come out of his mouth.

"You think you can kill me and escape? What a joke, I would enjoy snatching your wealth away. Now sign the papers," Manically, he threatened, bursting into laughter that only broke Angel's heart more.

"Why are you doing this?" She asked.

"To break you," he answered.

"Have you not had enough of it?! You beat me every day, insult me, embarrass me, and spit on my mother's grave. Haven't you broken me enough?!" Shakingly, she asked, her voice trembling from the pain she was feeling at the moment.

"What? You haven't learned your lesson yet?" Angered, he yanked off the maid and stalked toward Angel. He thought she would be remorseful by now and he wouldn't have to force his way in, but it seemed like she was going to be stubborn until the very end. Very well, he was ready to play the stubborn game with her.

"You! Leave!" Pointing towards the maid, he ordered, causing the maid to scurry off.

Confirming that the maid had left, he grabbed a chair and placed it in front of her, then he sat on it.

"Are we doing the staring game now?!" Mocking, she asked, giggling that irked Henry.

"Have you no fear whatsoever?" He asked, getting irritated by her strong acts. She smiled more and listened more when she was young. Going into the business world completely changed her, and he couldn't help envying her. That was when the hatred started, when she became successful.

A woman should submit to a man but she wanted to have it all, and dominate over them in the pack. She was foolish to think they would respect her just because she was richer than the pack.

Thankfully, she wasn't smart enough to hire the underground men for help. If the mafia got involved, they wouldn't be able to corner her. In truth, the moment she stepped back into the pack, she already brought misery upon herself.

"Who doesn't? I just hate people who act caring and show their true colors, just because the person is successful." She replied, and for a moment, her words stung him but he quickly waved it off.

"Why did you come back here? You know there is no place for you here and you would only suffer, yet you came back." He asked, pointing out the obvious. Since her mother's death, everyone ignored her and no one moved to care for her.

"I came back to watch you die," she said and spat at him, infuriating him.

Annoyed, he grabbed her neck, "Very well then," and said before tightening his grip on her neck. The door creaked open, interrupting him from choking her further.

"Who is the…"
