The moment Cullen walked into the gate, he hesitatingly dropped Amelia to the floor and automatically secured his surroundings, using his mobile phone.

Cullen turned to Amelia afterward. Giving her a disappointed look, he turned away from her and faced the entrance of his mansion.

Amelia shivered. She clenched her fist to control her freezing inside. "I thought you were asleep," she muttered.

A glint of softness flashed across Cullen's eyes the moment Amelia spoke up. He felt her whole emotions from her voice and decided to keep his voice low and be gentle.

"Asleep?" Cullen's attention immediately returned to her, "I wasn't," he gave her a short reply to control himself from speaking to her exactly how he felt.

Amelia forced a smile and began to walk away. She walked past him and entered the living room. Standing there staring at him was hard for her, not after he pushed her away after the kiss as if she wasn't worth it.
