Amelia's heart stopped beating when Daniel pointed a gun at her head. Her breath caught up in her chest, and she felt as if her whole life was now in Daniel's palm.

The hurtful slap Daniel gave to her no longer stung when she saw the gun. She was just shocked beyond words, with no saving grace.

Her lime green eyes pooled up, and she stared up at Daniel, demanding an explanation.

"Stand up," Daniel ordered.

The light in his eyes was gone. There wasn't even a small flicker of it remaining. Amelia felt cold as if she had been the Devil himself before her.

Amelia shook her head, waves of tears streaming down her face. The innocence in her refused to believe the possibility of Daniel about to hurt her. "What's happening?"

Daniel frowned, "You can still ask questions? Does this look like a joke to you?" he questioned, referring to the gun he held.
