Continued Story ch. 7 breakthrough

Qing Shu stopped the refinement session when it was almost dawn. He went directly to a tavern on the outskirts of the village and slept for about five hours, relieved of his fatigue, and at the same time his primeval essence was completely refilled.

Qing Shu moved after he woke up and did his usual morning exercise and training, took a shower, ate his food, and then headed home after leaving the bar. Upon arriving, he immediately sat down and began refining Moonlight Gu. The progression was much better than the first time when he refined liquor worm and it was faster as well.

After nearly two hours, his moonlight Gu refinement had reached 40%, but his primeval sea had dried up. He refilled it with primeval stones, and completed the refinement. As it was evening, Qing Shu was too tired to sit for a long time. But the reward did worth it. Moonlight Gu refinement was completed in one session, but he had used up so many primeval stones, it only had 18 stones left.

[Sitting for a long time is something I'm not used to but I need to get used to...] Qing Shu renewed his resolve and went to get the reward of the 20 primeval stones from the academy elder. There were no incidents during that, but the academy elder told Qing Shu that the clan leader was looking for him.

[Was he looking for me last night ...?] Qing Shu thought in his heart and walked towards the clan elder's hall where he would most likely find the clan leader.

As he thought earlier, the clan leader asked him what he was doing last night, because the elder who was stalking him suddenly lost track of him, but Qing Shu still evaded his question and instead asked him to teach him the basics of Gu improvement. After all, it's not bad to have a rank four teacher to guide you.

Gu Yue Bo didn't ask about it any more. Instead, he asked him a question.

<Qing Shu, do you want to get stronger? why that? Why do you want to get stronger?>

[Because of the dangers you could face in this brutal world. If I want to survive and protect those around me I will need the strength to do so, we live in a world whose law is: Survival of the strongest] Qing Shu answered his question with a flowery and thoughtful answer.

The clan leader was impressed by his answer, he accepted his request after Qing Shu indirectly reassured him that he was loyal to the clan, so Gu Yue Bo told him that if he didn't find the time to teach him, he would find the Refinement Hall Elder for him to help and teach him as well.

After being overjoyed and ecstatic with a sense that everything was going as planned, young Qing Shu returned to the courtyard of his small house and began to practice with a calm mind the martial arts. Until the end of the week, he had done nothing but training his body, practicing martial arts, and learning the basics of Gu refinement(by the end of the week he had learned all about the basics). But he wasn't allowed to try it himself because Refining Gu as a rank one, initial stage could be very risky for him.

Every day at night he tended his aperture and nourished its walls with primeval essence. With the help of the liquor worm, the output was better. He was not far from breakthrough to the middle stage, and Qing Shu needed only some time.

The lessons continued with the beginning of the next week. With the start, Qing Shu also started stealing from his classmates. He did what Fang Yuan did in the main story. And that was for two reasons; The first was to collect primeval stones, and the second was to enrich his experience and martial expertise.

Under his personal training and the clan leader's training, Qing Shu was with time getting stronger and stronger.

Of course, Gu Yue Bo did not like Qing Shu's stealing of his classmates and tried several times to stop him from doing so. But Qing Shu told him that he was doing it for the benefit of both sides. After all, in long-term battles, a Gu Master's primeval essence might deplete, forcing him to use martial arts or arm-fighting.

First, Qing Shu was strengthening his martial expertise, but that is the same for his classmates as well. When he takes/steals their money, they'll have the motivation to beat him, and that creates a cause and incentive for Qing Shu as well. After all, a famous person with grade A talent, he doesn't want to be beaten up by his classmates.

The clan leader was surprised that Qing Shu was aware of what he was doing and was doing it with "good" intentions. It was worth mentioning that among the academy's students were B grade talents, good at fighting and the best of them was Chi Shan.

Little by little, Qing Shu became unbeatable from their perspective as he began to soften his blow.

By the end of the week, Qing Shu was ready to reach the middle stage. After equipping the primeval stones and mentally preparing himself and after a conversation about breakthrough with the clan leader he decided he would move forward.

[I tried to delay breaking through, since it's my first ever. However now I'm not worried about it, after all I have a Liquor worm and A grade talent. I'm just trying to gather experience, because that will be beneficial to me by the time when I breakthrough to the next major realm, to be a rank 2 Gu master.]

In one of the academy's dorm rooms, Qing Shu was sitting cross-legged.

Qing Shu's door was closed.

In the dark, he was not sleeping, but was sitting on his bed.

A Gu Master's cultivation could not replace sleep. Usually at this time, Qing Shu had already fallen asleep. But with his cultivation earlier this day, he already felt that he was only one step away from the middle stage.

[I may not sleep tonight, I will rush straight towards the middle stage!]

Soon, he closed his eyes and his mind went to the aperture.

80% Copper Green primeval Sea. Just a minute ago, it had been refined into a light green middle stage primeval essence by the Liquor worm.

The commotion got bigger and bigger, until waves was formed.

The tides flowed against each other, and rushed towards the surrounding aperture's walls. Like crashing into a reef. A small amount of primeval essence was expended, as it transformed into a small torrent of invisible energy, piercing the light-white wall of the aperture.

[Rise up again] Qing Shu sensed that the ripples became larger in size. The waves were earlier like rabbits and dogs, but now they are like horse troops, marching toward the aperture's walls.

The waves was formed like hurricanes! The primeval essence was quickly expended, and the level of the primeval essence fell severely.

Globe, Globe, Globe...

The waves hit relentlessly, which eventually led to a change. The white wall suddenly shook, the originally mild white was radiating a piercing luster. Seeing this scene, Qing Shu was both happy and nervous because he knew that the crucial part had arrived, and he quickly activated all of his primeval essence to rush towards the walls.

The white light became brighter, and the light rays were distorted and entangled together, giving a feeling of thickening.

After more than ten breaths, white streaks of light energy appeared on the light wall, and the streaks collided with each other like a non-stop water flow. In the process of colliding, they continued to combine and merge, forming a flowing white light.

Finally, the streaming light gathered into one piece and covered the entire light wall.

The white light was dim, and the aperture's original white light wall had disappeared, being replaced by a layer of spherical white water wall. The light wall surface was smooth without impurities. However, the water wall was much thicker than the previous attenuated light wall.

The primeval sea regained its peace, and the gap still had 40% of primeval essence.

[I advanced to middle stage!] Qing Shu laughed heartily, opening his eyes.

Bright sunlight crept through the holes in the blinds. This bright light informed him of the arrival of a new day.
