25 Not So Trivial Matter

There was a tram going to the center. They got into it. It was quite crowded, but it was possible to continue the conversation.

"Mirek usually spent his birthday with us or with his girlfriend. We go to drink in the same bar as always. You know, such a little party. Unless you want to spend more romantic time, you can join."

The boy blushed to his ears.

"Knowing Mirek" continued Mikołaj thoughtfully "he will be pleased with anything."

"But I don't want to give him 'anything'."

"Then maybe give him the memories."

"What?"

"Memories. I know it sounds stupid, but ..."

It sounded silly, Skrzynecki knew about it, but he valued one specific memory as a special value in his life - that night in Tenerife, when he met a gray-eyed, charming and mysterious man, who was now entering his life with a hit.
