[▪︎Ten Minutes After The Test▪︎]

[▪︎General Pov▪︎]

Four men dressed in suits were gathered in a small conference room, they were focused on the screen fixed on the wall that was playing the video of a ten-year-old boy with white hair killing a dog from the inside.

They were all watching it in silence and after twelve minutes the video ended.

"Hmmm"

One of the men who was short and gray-haired said as he focused on Virgil's figure in the video with a weird expression on his face.

"Is there a problem Mr. Franks?"

Doctor Vogelbaum who was among those present in the meeting asked. He wanted to know why instead of showing an excited expression, he had an odd look on his face.

"I don't know Doctor but I feel like somethings wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about his progress and I can't wait to see the amount of profit he brings to the company. A part of me just wonders if we actually have him under control."

Mr. Franks replied as he relaxed on his chair with his hand on his beardless chin.

"Why do you think so Franky?"

One of the men present asked. He was a built man in his forties with a bald head with a goatee.

The rest including Doctor Vogelbaum were also interested in what he had to say.

"Well given his IQ and powers, there might be a time when he might want to rebel or something. Maybe he might use his intellect to take over the company or something, I don't know."

He replied, unsure of himself. He couldn't explain he had a gut feeling that the kid isn't all that he shows himself to be.

"Hahaha, Dear old Franky is just worried the kid will steal his money. Don't worry, even if he does you will have enough to fuck around with."

The one who asked Mr. Franks that question laughed boisterously. The rest soon followed while Doctor Vogelbaum restrained himself, contemplating what Mr. Franks said.

Mr. Franks who had just finished laughing saw the Doctor's reaction and asked:

"Vogelbaum, is there something that's bothering you?"

The rest heard his question and directed their gazes on the Doctor.

"Me? not really. I just think that there is a possibility of what Mr. Franks said happening. I mean I've watched the boy all his life and sometimes I'm even scared of the rate at which he is learning and improving. Right now, he is fiercely loyal to the company because of the 'treatment' but who knows how long that will last."

Vogelbaum explained. The rest who heard this became silent and also thought deeply about that possibility. Most of them were just concerned because they were majority shareholders and they didn't want to lose their money.

"I don't think that's an issue at the moment. He is still a kid so you just need to educate him further. And besides, do you think he will rebel when he becomes rich and famous? Just instill the fact that without Vought he is nothing inside him and give him whatever he wants when he wants something and he won't even think of doing that."

A man who was seated next to Vogelbaum explained calmly as he lighted a cigar and took a smoke.

Mr. Franks and the rest nodded as the man's explanation and plan were feasible. It wasn't a foolproof plan but it was at least something that can give them a sense of security.

Doctor Vogelbaum thought for a while and also nodded.

The men in the room didn't continue to think about those things and started talking about the main reason they came for the meeting.

"Gentlemen, since we have resolved this minor issue, let's talk about the main reason we came here."

One of the men said excitedly.

"Ah yes the fight, I would like to see which of our two products will come out on top."

Another replied with the same excitement.

"My bet is on the white-haired boy, what's his name again... Aha Virgil, I bet ten thousand bucks he will win."

"Hahaha, you are getting too old Daniel. I bet thirty thousand bucks that John will win. I will even give you that college girl I talked about, she gives the best BJs I'm not gonna lie."

Franky exclaimed with a vulgar tone.

The rest of the men continued to bet and argue excitedly even though the fight was between two children.

Doctor Vogelbaum was silently watching all of them and shook his head lightly. He thought of the ancient Romans who gathered around to watch men kill each in cold blood for sport and compared them to the men in front of him.

On one side we have people who considered it as their culture and on the other side we have those who will say it is a barbaric practice to keep their image.

Humans are and will always be a hypocritical species driven by their selfish intent.

He didn't think of himself as a morally good person, he has experimented on babies and has done horrible things but he wasn't particularly interested in children hurting and fighting each other.

He is interested in this fight because of the data he will be getting from it. These two are the company's greatest creations, having more potential than Soldier Boy and that lady so their fight will be something very interesting.

He knows Virgil will win, it won't be easy but he will eventually be the winner.

After an hour more of discussion, mostly between the shareholders who were just betting, the meeting ended making everyone go their separate ways with everyone anticipating the fight.

••••••••••••••

[▪︎15th November 1992▪︎]

A middle-aged woman dressed in a lab coat navigated her way through the white corridors of the facility and after a couple of turns, arrived in front of a room at the back of the end of one particular hallway and entered without knocking.

The moment she entered the room, she found herself floating. It was like the concept of gravity didn't exist in the room, everything in the room from the bed to the bookshelves were floating in the air at a certain distance above the ground.

"Ahh! What's going on here? Let me down this instant!"

She exclaimed with a frightened face but with an angry tone as she looked at the boy who was lying in the air as if it was a bed while reading a thick book.

She was dropped to the ground the next moment, making her hit the floor painfully.

She was on the floor making painful noises with Virgil not even sparing her glance, still focusing on the book.

She got up from the floor after a while with a furious expression on her face.

"You little piece of shi...."

She didn't even finish her sentence before she was up in the air once again only this time she was grasping her neck as if someone was choking her.

Virgil at this moment was facing her with his left hand stretched towards her in a grasping motion.

<Choking Sounds>

After two minutes, when her eyes were almost white she was released and fell to the ground.

She started breathing heavily while Virgil was still in the air looking at her with a neutral expression on his face with his eyes glowing.

When she recovered she got up from the floor while trembling and looked at Virgil fearfully.

"Why did you come here?"

Virgil asked in a bored tone as if he didn't do anything to her.

"Doc--Doctor Vogelbaum ss-said be ready in ten mi-mi-minutes."

She stuttered in fear.

"I see, tell him I'll be ready at that time"

Virgil said neutrally.

The woman after delivering the message tried to leave the room as fast as she could.

"Wait"

"Y-Y-Yess?"

She stopped and turned back in fear, afraid of the fact that he might do something worse to her.

"Please knock when you are coming here next time, we wouldn't like this situation repeating would we?"

Virgil asked with a smile that sent shivers down her spine.

"No."

She replied and left the room hastily.

She moved quickly as if her life was on the line surprising the other researchers around.

But when they saw where she was coming from they gave her a pitiful look since they haven't seen her around here which means she made a mistake when confronting him.

'First John now him? I don't want to be near any of these monsters. No wonder the others didn't want to go and inform him, at least with John I can talk harshly and won't get almost killed as he sees the majority of the female researchers as mothers but this boy is crazier. I will probably have nightmares today.'

She thought with a face full of fear as she increased her moving speed, promising never to face him again.

~A/N~

Hey guys I noticed I did a mistake regarding the time Payback was disbanded. They disbanded around 1984 so those obsessed with the chronological order of things can take it that they disbanded temporarily and later got back before Soldier Boy was handed to the Russians in 1984.

Thank You.
