Demons Gathering
Ryuki was talking to his Master, thinking that he was following him behind. He wondered why his master suddenly became quiet.
He turned around only to find out that Zach was not following him. He saw him kneeling on the spot where he found him moments ago.
"Eh, master is not listening to me. I said we should hurry and he should follow me. Why is he still kneeling on the ground?"
Ryuki flew back to check on Zach. When he reached his spot, his master was panting heavily while massaging his chest.
"Master, what's wrong?"
Ryuki wanted to come over but stopped right away after seeing the dark expression of his master.
'Eh, what happened to him? It seems that he is in a bad mood right now,' Ryuki pondered to himself.
On the other hand, Zach felt relieved when the intense pain already subsided. He thought his brain was gonna explode out of his skull and his heart would be torn into tiny pieces.
He felt irritated because of the strange System that suddenly popped up from out of nowhere, torturing him just to accept it.
He found it weird since the pain just suddenly disappeared after he accepted it. And the system became inactive again.
He just hoped it was just a weird phenomenon as he just arrived in this Asura Land.
'Never mind! I just hope I will never encounter that again.'
"I'm fine. Now let's go to the temple!" Zach said, standing up as he walked closer to Ryuki.
"Okay, master. This way! We must hurry!"
Ryuki was flying while Zach was running. At that certain moment, he realized that Ryuki needed to grow fast so that he could ride on him, instead of running like this.
'Tsss, I should ask him later on how I can make him grow bigger!' Zach made a mental note.
After fifteen minutes of running, Zach and Ryuki finally arrived at the front of the Demon God's temple. There was a large crowd of demons gathered around the area.
They just came on time. The Demon Monarch hadn't started his announcement yet. While waiting, Zach got the opportunity to observe his surroundings, including the different demons in front of him.
He could see that everyone had different appearances. There were some who looked vicious, gross, and ugly like beasts and monsters. Others had a human body but had a monster's head. Some were just like humans.
The only similarities he could find were everyone had either horns, tails, and wings. Just thinking about the demon appearances, he wondered what he looked like right now. He hadn't seen his face yet.
He raised his hand to scan his head. A while ago when his head was hurting, he hadn't noticed the two horns just above his forehead.
"Eh, why is it that my horns are small?"
Unlike the other demons, Zach could estimate that his horns were only two inches long.
He put his other hand on his butt, trying to check if he also had a tail. He was glad when he didn't find a tail. But he felt sad when he realized that he didn't have wings.
"Damn! I need wings so that I can fly! I don't have to run… Sigh, it's too tiring!" Zach lamented to himself.
Ryuki was just silently watching his master. He tried his best to hold his laughter. His master looked so cute and innocent as he checked his horns, tail, and wings.
"I have a lot to explain to my master after this announcement. Hahaha." Ryuki was so happy that he could be of help to his master.
Since there was no glass or mirror, Zach just assessed the part of his body. He could tell that he was in his human form but…
"Huh? My hands... My feet… they are smaller… like the hands and feet of a ten-year-old kid!!!" Zach panicked as he came to realize that.
No wonder some demons looked taller than him and he had to look up. It turned out he had the body of a kid!
"Fuck my luck?! Why did I end up being like this? I am supposed to be a 20-year-old adult! Where is my masculine physique that I tried to maintain for almost a decade?!!" Zach tugged his hair tightly as he continued whining to himself.
Ryuki, who was just observing Zach, shook his head helplessly.
"My master has a bad habit of talking to himself."
Zach had no time to complain as the demons in front of them suddenly kneeled when a tall bulky man in a black robe appeared from their sight. Zach had no choice but to follow them and kneeled.
By just looking at the demon in front of him, he could tell that he was powerful. He was giving off a majestic vibe.
"Ryuki, who is that?"
"Master, that is the Demon Monarch! The second highest in rank, just below the rank of the Demon God!"
'Interesting. I should ask Ryuki about the different demon ranks later.'
Zach fixed his eyes on the front. He gasped in amazement when a giant serpent with eight heads came forward, standing next to the Demon Monarch.
"Hey, Ryuki, that giant serpent… don't tell me that is the Demon Monarch's demon slave pet?"
"Yes, master! You are right! The eight-headed serpent is his demon slave pet!"
"Whoa, so cool! If I nurture you and raise you, can you look cool like that?" Zach asked Ryuki excitedly.
Ryuki bobbed his head frantically. "As long as my master becomes cool, I will also look cool! So you have to be stronger and level up with your rank, master! My growth and appearance will depend on your performance as a demon."
Zach smiled mischievously while nodding his head.
"That's easy. Just leave it to me!" Zach said confidently.
He was fascinated by this place. He had found something interesting.
"Well, I can say that it's not that bad to be in this hell!"
Zach could feel the excitement surging up in his heart. He had no idea that his angelic system might become his problem in leveling up his demon ranking!
