1 Prologue

Drip!

Water dripped.

The young man took a step back.

Darkness swayed in front of him; a small pond that stretched across the darkness and a girl emerging from the same darkness, who he took to be human at first glance.

But that was a deadly mistake.

The young man was on a mission. But he got separated and now he had to pay the ultimate price: his life. This planet was the home of numerous predators and he was the prey.

He sweated and breathed heavily as he took another step back. The girl took a step forward.

There was a scent in the air and the scent was alluring to the young man.

Water drops leaked from the girl's seamless body as she walked ever closer: droplets streamed down.

It didn't make sense as to how the ambiance was so euphoric. Her skin reflected a light pink aura. She was different from humans but perhaps the better version: at least looks wise. Her bright red eyes glistened as she glanced at the young man but upon further inspection, they turned out to be almost like rubies. She had a sultry expression on her face enough to make any man tremble.

But the young man trembled for various other reasons. But he couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated at the sheer beauty of the girl. 'So beautiful.'

The young man didn't know how or why but one thing was for certain, he couldn't stay here. He came here in the hopes of surviving. Something was after him, hunting him, and he had to take shelter here, but was it all for naught?

This girl didn't look like she was about to rip his guts out but he couldn't take the chance. He did find her beautiful, but his life was more important.

"Stay back!" He shouted, but the girl didn't respond.

Could she even understand him?

He didn't have any weapons and he didn't have any strength or rather powers either. He was normal: perhaps too normal. And he was going to die. 'Why did I even come to this place?'

Maybe his father was right. Maybe his sister was right. Maybe everyone was right. Maybe he should have just stayed back home.

But none of that mattered right now.

He was out of breath and he could feel his blood rushing to a lot of places. The sensation, the tightening of his chest, the throbbing…

But the moment he blinked, the girl disappeared. He looked around, cautiously, but there was no one here anymore.

There was silence- a silence that made him shiver at the sound of his own heartbeat and breath.

He didn't know what to feel. He didn't know if he'd survive or not, but he did feel relieved. Was all of this just his imagination? He was stressed beyond limit, and technically there wasn't supposed to be any humanoid species on this planet but even so, such an elaborate hallucination? But the possibility was there. And because of that, he could sigh in relief.

After all, humans had a tendency to believe in things that gave them the most comfort and the feeling of safety.

But a second later, he almost fell on the ground as the girl dropped from the ceiling, wrapping her arms and legs tight around the young man. He did fall on the ground but the girl was on top of him.

"ARGHH!" He screamed in fear but the girl didn't let him go.

'I don't want to die.' No one did.

But something was wrong. The girl's embrace wasn't hurting him. In fact, somehow it felt good.

She looked deep in his eyes. Their eyes were locked on. White strands of hair covered most of her face and touched the young man's face, ever so gently: her hair could move. And for once the young man didn't feel the instant fright he felt till now. "Who are you?"

The girl didn't answer. Instead, she kissed him. She licked him behind the ears. She sucked him dry.

The young man didn't want to give in, but his body didn't listen to him anymore. The alluring scent was coming from the girl and from the moment she touched him, his body didn't belong to him, not anymore.

Their tongues rolled on and pulses of euphoria coursed through the young man's body over the course of the next ten minutes. He even forgot about the life-threatening thing that was on his tail just outside this place. It didn't matter.

This mattered more. Everything else was irrelevant.

But the moment he was done, the world swayed.

The young man felt faint. Something about his left hand stung and it stung badly.

And before he knew it, everything went dark.

"The hopes of our race are within you now…." A voice ran out. A peaceful, urgent, and sweet, soft voice. "I wish, we could have met again… though it's impossible."

That was the last thing he heard.
