Confluence

Once, two great masters possessing immense powers decided to face each other. They fought intensely for years, but the battle didn't yield a clear winner. They then changed the approach, tossing a coin to let luck decide the victor. However, the coin fell vertically, and no matter what they did, they couldn't get results. They had the brilliant idea of creating two disciples who would face each other over five years. Kronos was one of the chosen ones, absorbing all the knowledge imparted by his master. Despite the master sensing that one day his student would surpass him, there was concern about the strength of the other disciple, Kronos's adversary. After the five years, Kronos was more than ready to confront his opponent. Upon reaching the battlefield, he didn't find his adversary but discovered a paper with words written on it: "You three are crazy." These were the last words left by the deserter adversary. "It hurts to know that I am not Kronos."

Decision!

Confluence

Chapter: 20

Title: Decision!

"We must move forward." When Fred said that, the place lit up.

Inside the giant cube, there was no information or wall nearby, it was just a huge hall. The light was so natural that it seemed like the cube had no ceiling.

"What?" At the feet of everyone in that place, a light appeared. The light made a path, all the paths made by the different times led to the same place.

All paths led to the middle of the hall, and in the middle of the hall there were floating cubes for each path of light.

In other words, each person had a cube, even Fred and the woman had their unique paths. The paths had crossed and led to a single cube.

Thales looked at the couple; somehow, he realized what the paths and cubes could indicate or be.

For some reason, he looked at his feet and then looked at Aura's feet. The paths were individual, each one leading to its cube.

In total, in the hall, there were 29 people. Somehow, Dominic's group, which was 17, had more survivors and, counting Aura and Thales, there were 23 people. Finally, Fred's group completed 29 people.

"What is this?" Kelton asked.

"To whom is this question directed?" Fred did not like Kelton's logical question.

"I don't know what this is, so I asked." Many would have done the same.

"And you know that no one knows the answer, yet you asked. Stay quiet and walk." Fred was getting annoyed.

Thales liked Fred's response; everyone did what he had suggested.

If he had been in the group from the beginning, many things would not have happened.

Aura, who still had short hair, looked at her feet and then looked at Thales' feet, looked at Fred and Rena's feet. Somehow, she felt a great displeasure.

Everyone walked and reached the center of the hall; the cubes were in a circle, and everyone looked at the cubes.

Greedy looks appeared on the faces of the men who saw that. Everyone knew that what was in front of them was a treasure, and it didn't seem to be a small thing.

"What should we do?" Aura asked.

"We should simply do what seems right. It doesn't seem like there is another option," Dominic said.

Everyone remained silent.

"Who thinks we should take the cubes?" Holder spoke.

Everyone in the room voted that they should take the cubes. It was risky, but it seemed worth trying the risk.

"The greater the risk, the greater the reward!" Thales said to himself.

He was super curious to know what was inside the cube; therefore, he voted in favor.

Dominic seemed to have lost his sanity after what he went through; he took the cube in front of him, and everyone was amazed.

The cube turned into a beautiful armor and equipped itself on Dominic; he now looked much stronger than before, and everyone was amazed.

The second person was afraid that the same would not happen to him, or it could be a trap, but it was still worth it.

He took the cube, and the cube compressed and turned into a dagger. It was a super sharp dagger that seemed like it could cut anything.

Thales was disappointed with the content inside the cubes. Aura, who was somehow mounted on her bird, got off the bird's back and went to get her cube.

The cube didn't change anything; it remained as it was in the beginning.

Everyone in the hall took their cubes; most turned into weapons and armor, others turned into accessories.

Thales, who was standing, watching everyone, left happy with the results. He didn't move; he didn't intend to move.

The cube whose path pointed was in front of him. "Are you waiting for something?" Aura asked.

"No, nothing in particular." He noticed Aura's question.

"I have no plans to take that." Many were shocked; others, angry. Where in the world could you be offered such a gift?

"Can I know your reasons?" Fred was worried that Thales had noticed something and was avoiding it.

"I didn't notice any abnormality, but I think it's not worth risking my life for a weapon. I can't fight, so acquiring a weapon would be useless for me, besides..." He stopped talking.

"Besides?" Rena questioned him.

"Besides the fact that the cube could be trapped, that is. I am a coward; I don't want to die."

Thales had an abnormal attachment to life; everyone in the hall felt it, Aura noticed it in some way.

"Let's get out of this place." They had already obtained a lot; it was enough for that expedition.

Everyone recognized Fred's wise decision, and everyone began to head towards the exit.

"If you're not going to take it, I will." Everyone looked at who had said those words.

It was Dominic, who, radiant with his new armor, picked up the cube that was in Thales' way.

"Men should be greedy," many thought. Thales wasted an opportunity to obtain something of great value that he would never see in his life.

No one blamed Dominic for making the decision to keep what someone had abandoned. Thales would feel regret for the rest of his life for making such a decision.

Aura lamented; it was she who brought Thales and exposed him to many dangerous things, so she wanted him to at least benefit from the dangerous journey he made.

When Dominic's fingers were about to touch the cube, his armor began to shrink. He started screaming because of the tightness of the armor.

The armor became small, the size that would fit a 15-year-old, then a ten-year-old, then an eight-year-old, then a five-year-old, and finally, it became the size that would fit a newborn.

Everyone was silent; that was beyond scary. That was a bizarre scene that no one could overcome with therapy.

Even though the armor had shrunk to a very small size, Dominic's body did not change in size other than being compressed.

He was compressed alive, and not a drop of blood leaked from the armor; his head remained the same size.

He was alive during the compression process; he could do nothing but scream.
