Title: Almost Got Killed.

Your affinity with Thales dropped by 7 points.

The woman's gaze narrowed. "I didn't notice." She shouldn't have asked.

Thales replied without hesitation.

"Previously, when you promised me what I want four times, your affinity with me reached 13 points."

"However, now your affinity has dropped by 7 points, leaving you with 5 points." He replied without faltering.

The woman felt she shouldn't ask anything more, the boy in front of her was peculiar, but she wasn't alone in the room. "And where did 1 point of affinity go?" The director asked.

Thales made a very serious face and looked at the woman in front of him. "Your beauty took that point."

""Shouldn't it increase?"" The director and the woman thought the same thing.

The woman felt embarrassed, then composed herself. "Aura, that's my name."

"Aura, I'll be waiting for the money." Thales bid farewell.

"Didn't you say that whoever has the key should know what it is, so they can know how to use it?" The woman interrupted him.

"I had forgotten to explain that." In reality, he wanted them to come looking for him again to charge more.

Aura handed the cube to Thales, it was pulled by gravity and almost crushed his beautiful fingers; the cube was heavy.

He lifted the cube and looked at Aura. Aura looked at him and smiled.

Thales took the cube and whispered to it, "argon blue cube, key to the white castle."

Everyone in the room was stunned by what they had just heard; it was headache-inducing to think about it.

The red cube wasn't red, but blue, and the same blue cube opened a white lock.

Next, a white light emerged from the cube and headed towards Thales' forehead. Everything happened quickly.

Thales saw the light; it was practically impossible to avoid something that was very close. He sought a solution; he kicked his foot, slipped, and fell; the light didn't hit him, it went towards the window.

The light was reflected by the window glass and hit Aura. Thales stood up. "That was close, almost got pu---"

A gun was pointed at his head. The man standing was the one holding the gun. He looked at Aura, who was still standing, patting her body, then looked at Thales, his gaze filled with anger.

"This can-----" A mana-infused bullet passed a few centimeters from Thales' head.

The bullet made a huge hole in the wall; the bullet didn't stop.

It was like a disproportionate laser; the bullet pierced through all the walls in its path and went into the sky, and it got lost; its trajectory was visible.

It seemed to have torn through the air.

Thales looked at the hole in the wall and then at the man in front of him, very furious.

"Tell me what you did, or next time I won't miss." He continued to stare at Thales.

Thales thought. (Are you sure you missed on purpose?)

"Virgill, what do you think you're doing?" Aura reprimanded Virgill; by the way, that was his name.

His fingers moved even closer to the trigger, and he spoke sternly. "Your safety comes above my life, your safety comes above anyone else, your safety comes above your orders."

Everyone fell silent in that atmosphere; the director looked at the wall, his expression made it seem like the hole in the wall was in his chest.

"Have you ever thought about being an author?" Thales, with his hands up, asked Virgill a question.

"No, what did you do with her?" It seemed like he wanted to send another bullet.

Thales looked directly into Virgill's eyes, ignoring the tension in the room. "I didn't do anything to her; she just became the owner of the cube."

"Owner of the cube?" Virgill asked, with the gun still pointed at Thales.

"I can't explain many details in a short time, other than that this cube is yours, and I have nothing to do with it. How could I want to harm someone I've never seen in my life and will never see again? Besides, she sponsored me."

"Could you try using your brains a bit? You're embarrassing me." Thales's cheeks turned red.

Virgill grabbed the doorknob and prepared to open the door. "So what makes you feel sorry for me?"

The answer was direct. "I feel sorry for you and admire you for being able to walk alongside someone who claims to be your security when in fact, he is a spy."

He paused; everyone in the room prepared to hear the insult he was about to utter.

"A SPY." Everyone turned and looked at Aura; Virgill stopped opening the door. "What makes you think that?" Aura asked calmly.

The accused did nothing.

Thales seemed very convinced. "A lot of things; one of them was that he wanted to erase me because he noticed that I knew how to use the cube."

This accusation didn't make sense, that's what everyone thought. "However, if he did it too quickly, he wouldn't know how to activate the cube; that's why he forced me to prove that you had become the owner of the cube."

"With many other things that I'm not willing to explain, but, Aura, my boss, remember to watch your back."

"Your security above your orders may not be true." He looked sternly at Virgill; still, Thales didn't seem angry the whole time.

The director's smile couldn't get any wider; Aura and Virgill left the room.

In the room remained two people; Thales received his money ten times more than he expected. He was very happy.

"I was worried that there wouldn't be enough funds." The director said to Thales as he looked at the holes in dozens of walls.

"Virgill, you damn spy, I curse you." Thales shouted as loud as possible.
