Chapter 29: Conclusion?

When they arrived, Raymond immediately left, and Caspian immediately called Scarlet. After conversing with Scarlet's friend, he then told his goodbyes after asking for Scarlet to come as quickly as possible.

As soon as the call ended, Caspian put his phone in his pocket and looked at Abby and the others. "So, how do you think he managed to kill this person without resistance."

After giving it a thought, Irene spoke, this time without the cheeky tone she always had, "My guess is he seduced the girl and injected her with venom, or he seduced her and hypnotized the girl after… so he's probably a True Vampire, or worse, a Greater Vampire. Only those rank of vampires have the ability to hypnotize someone, and for a true vampire, it's relatively weak."

After hearing that, Natalie added, "Mhm… after that girl brought him home, he probably injected her with vampire venom, rendering her unable to move."

Caspian fell into deep thought while thinking of the possibilities. He then said, "If he could always do that… why would he not do it to the other people he murdered?"

"There are two possibilities. Either he didn't do it himself and sent a minion or a vampiric pawn to kill those people, or he just wanted to torture those poor bastards," Lucia said as she lit her cigarette.

Seeing this, Caspian pointed at the 'No Smoking' sign, but Lucia simply glanced at it as she let out a puff of smoke. Caspian frowned as he decided to ignore her.

As Caspian was about to talk, Abby suddenly spoke out. "Wait… there's a chance that he isn't actually a True Vampire!'

After hearing that, everyone looked at Abby curiously. Natalie then asked with a frown, "What do you mean by that."

"I've only ever told the captain about this, but when I fought a Lesser Vampire to protect Caspian, he drank some type of liquid stored in a vial. After drinking three of those vials, he seemed to have evolved into a True Vampire. Albeit the effects being temporary, it forced me to use my full transformation."

This caused everyone's brows to furrow. Naida then said in a stoic tone, "If that's true, how did 'Fallen' get their hands on such a thing?"

Caspian then let out a loud sigh as he said, "No matter what he is, we need to capture or kill him immediately."

The others nodded lightly. As they were about to converse again, the door opened widely, with Scarlet walking slowly as she was afraid that she was going to collapse at any moment due to being dizzy.

Lisa, Scarlet's friend, smiled wryly at the scene while lightly pinching her ear. Her eyes sharply gazed at everyone, and after a while, she nodded her head as she helped Scarlet sit down on her chair.

"Where's the body?" Scarlet asked with a drunk tone.

Seeing this, Caspian couldn't help but smile wryly while looking at Lisa as he said, "You should've let her rest a little bit first, you know."

"She insisted on coming… She even pulled my hair hard enough for me to give up," Lisa laughed lightly as Caspian shook his head.

"You should rest first, Scarlet. You can't do anything if you're drunk like that," Caspian held unto Scarlet's shoulder.

Scarlet simply shook him off as she said, "There's not gonna be a problem! Trust me."

She then stood up and coughed lightly. Her demeanor seemed to have gotten slightly better after that as she walked toward the body with slightly hazy eyes. She then grabbed a sample of the blood and started investigating it.

"You guys can leave first. I'll manage," Scarlet said as she walked toward her desk again and grabbed a bottle of water, she was hiding in her drawer. After drinking most of it in one go, she made a loud noise after holding her breath.

Caspian and the others smiled wryly as he looked at Lisa while saying, "Take care of your friend."

"Roger, detective," Lisa said with a smile and a small salute.

Caspian and the others soon left the lab as Naida said, "We should get going. We have more matters to investigate rather than laze around doing nothing."

Natalie, Lucia, and Irene nodded as they looked at Caspian and Abby. Both Caspian and Abby just gave a nod as they headed their own separate ways.

Caspian then said, "Let's go home?"

"Sure," Abby replied as she and Caspian headed to their car. She then grabbed the keys from Caspian's waist and started the car immediately. They wasted no time as they headed to Caspian's apartment.

As Caspian and Abby arrived, they let out a large sigh as they started removing the coats that they wore. Caspian then said with a wry expression, "The enjoyment really faded quickly, huh."

Abby nodded in agreement as she slumped on the couch. Caspian couldn't help but feel somewhat tired despite his days in the bureau being more exhausting. He glanced at Abby while she placed her hands above her head, accenting her curves.

While seeing this, an urge to jump on Abby surfaced in Caspian's mind. He just laughed it off as he found it unethical. Noticing this, Abby couldn't help but smile coyly as she tugged on her uniform, revealing the skin hiding under it.

"Naughty girl… how addicted are you to sex?" Caspian chuckled.

"I mean, whose fault is that?" Abby gave a smile as she held unto her breasts.

Caspian then glared at Abby with hunger as he pushed her down and gave her a passionate kiss, their tongues intertwining. The night then continued with loud moans resonating within Caspian's apartment.

However, outside the landlord's porch, the landlord sat on his chair while sipping his tea. As he heard the moans, he couldn't help but grin, "Ah, how nice it is to be young."

It did not take long till the morning sun rose. Caspian and Abby were lying on the bed while completely nude as they embraced each other. Suddenly, Caspian's phone started ringing. After hearing the noise, Caspian opened his eyes lightly, and so did Abby.

"We barely slept… we only slept for an hour, I think?" Caspian said as he rubbed his eyes.

Abby laughed as she nodded while looking at Caspian's face intently. "Yeah, but aren't you going to answer that call?"

"Oh, right," Caspian replied as he sat down and picked up the phone. He then looked at the contact name and saw that it was Scarlet. He then answered the call, and Scarlet spoke in a clear voice.

[Caspian, I found some interesting things here. If you have time to come here and take a look at the body, please do so. I can't explain it adequately without you seeing it.]

After hearing that, Caspian then replied, "Ah! Sure, I'll go there in a few minutes."

The call ended after they said their goodbyes. Caspian then looked at Abby as he said, "Scarlet said she found some interesting things."

Abby nodded as she sat down properly while saying, "Well, let's waste no more time."

They both stood up as they got changed and immediately headed to the station, intending to just stop by Bailey's bakery.

As they arrived, they immediately went out to buy some food at Bailey's bakery. As they entered, Bailey looked at them with surprise as she exclaimed, "Abby! Caspian! Oh, how nice it is to see you! I haven't seen you in a long time!"

"It's nice to see you too, Bailey," Caspian and Abby said with a smile.

"I heard you were suspended?" Bailey asked as she started brewing some coffee.

"Yeah, things just happened, and we didn't follow orders, so…." Caspian said with a wry smile.

Bailey simply giggled as she replied, "Ah, being the rebellious type once in a while, huh, Caspian?"

"Here are your favorites," Bailey said as she handed out the pastry that Caspian and Abby always bought. Sure enough, both of them grabbed it happily as they ate.

The more Bailey looked at them, the more she felt something, but she just couldn't put her hands on it. After a while of staring at them eat, she suddenly said, "Did you two… are you thing now!?"

Caspian and Abby couldn't help but laugh wryly after hearing Bailey shout, further proving Bailey's guess. She then excitedly jumped with starry eyes as she said, "OH MY GOD! SO CUTE~!"

"I knew you two were meant to be together~!" Bailey said as she gave them more pastry and coffee.

With a laugh, Caspian and Abby accepted as they felt somewhat hungry due to the relentless fucking they had done earlier.

With a small chat, they both finished eating, so they stood up. Caspian then pulled out his wallet, but again, like the officer last time, Bailey stopped him as she said, "No, no! It's on the house! It's a celebration for you finally being together!"

Caspian knew that once Bailey made up her mind, no matter how hard they tried to change it, it won't work, so he just nodded his head and submitted. He and Abby then said, "Thanks, Bailey, we'll be going now."

"Yes~, take care, and don't do it too much~!" Bailey said with a giggle, causing Caspian and Abby to blush.

Without wasting any further time, Caspian and Abby immediately headed to the station to find Scarlet. They soon arrived and went to the laboratory to ask Scarlet what she had found.

After knocking on the door and hearing a reply, both of them entered the room to see Scarlet observing the body and Lisa just sitting on the chair next to Scarlet's desk, sleeping.

Noticing that they entered the room, Scarlet turned to look at them as she said with a serious face while grabbing a vial of blood, probably from her previous biopsies, "Take a look at this."

As she poured the blood onto the body's blood, it started boiling, and it looked similar to lava in a volcano as bubbles started forming, causing loud pops. Soon, the boiling blood came to a stop as the stench of blood became increasingly intense.

This caused Caspian to frown as he said, "What the hell?"
