Too Late? II

Emily and Dylan walked hastily to meet him.

"So, you guys changed your mind right?" Jaden said, as they walked ahead.

''We wouldn't want to talk about that" Emily muttered.

"So, what did you find?" Dylan asked.

"You see that small hut over there?" Jaden said, pointing to the

hut, not too far from where they stood.

''Yes?" Emily answered.

"That's where I carried the girl from" Jaden said. Emily's eyes widened in surprise and happiness. She ran to the hut, and others followed suit.

A bunch of bamboo sticks tied together were beside the door. They scanned the hut in and out, but it was empty.

"Don't be frustrated, they don't live here. I watched her build this place. I can find my way to their village from here" Jaden said with a wide smile.

"Now that's the first good news I've heard in days" Emily said, dancing lightly.

"So, what if they aren't here" Dylan asked, and Emily ended her dance abruptly.
