Chapter 3:Start Afresh

Although it was expected she was still left heart broken. She boarded a taxi and left for her friend's place.

Upon arrival, Mrs Clara was about heading for the market when she saw her friend striding into her courtyard with a lost expression.

She ran to her side and helped her with the only bag on her before leading her inside

"Matty... oh my dear... that b*stard actually did this to you, how could he treat you like this after giving birth" Mrs Clara was pained when she saw the state of her friend.

She has been friends with Martha since their since childhood and knows of what she have been through.

Though with her understanding of Mr Maxwell, it wasn't unexpected for him to treat her like that but couldn't he have considered her condition after giving birth??

"AUNTY MARTHA " Mrs Clara's children Peter and Priya screamed as they ran towards them when they saw Miss Martha.

The Twins were currently five and have known Martha since their birth.

"Peter, Priya... go play now, your aunt isn't well okay " Mrs Clara said as she led Martha to the guest room.

"Matty... I known its hard on you but you have to stay strong for your daughter okay..."Mrs Clara said a few words of encouragement to her best friend before leaving her to rest.

Martha was hit really badly. She literally gave up her entire life to that b*stard. It wasn't easy to give up on one's family but she did all in the name of love. And what did she get in return...

"I can't give up... not when my daughter looks up to me... not when I haven't gotten my revenge... he has to pay back a thousand fold for what he did to me " Mrs Martha then gathered her self and said in a determined voice.

After taking her bath, she came downstairs with an energetic stance. She posed as an immovable mountain and an unstoppable storm. She has clearly re-thinked her current situation and drafted her plans for the future, so she was ready to face the world.

Mrs Clara was obviously happy because she knew her childhood friend was back. She knew this friend of hers wasn't one to go down without a fight and she is back... better and stronger.

"I believe you will get back what you deserve Matty, come lets have lunch".

At the dinning room...

"By the way, what's her name" Mrs Clara asked referring to her daughter as she served the dishes.

"I haven't thought of that yet... why don't we call her... Monica" . Mrs Martha said after a few minutes in thought.

She firmly believes that her child will be extraordinary and her uniqueness will be the fall of her 'husband '.

"Its a good name" Mrs Clara said before digging into the dishes.

After breakfast, Mrs Clara took Mrs Martha for a stroll in the garden. "I hope you don't mind me troubling you with my presence" Mrs Martha said with guilt evident in her voice.

"How could you say that... you have been my friend since high school and you are like the sister I never had so how could you be troubling me" Mrs Clara said with a laugh.

"Don't worry Matty... no matter what, I'll always be by your side" Mrs Clara swored as many thought ran wild in her mind
