Chapter 12

The next day, Dean, Marionne, Gin and Xiao Han met a few other viruses and managed to kill them with Dean as their important member. Dean had lots of monster soul and they confirmed their theory that the viruses can't affect anything with monster soul presence. They did not know why but they did not care about the reason as long as they can killed the virus.

If their compatibility related to the slime soul, Dean wanted to give them some of the soul, however they were not. Xiao Han's compatibility was agility. He can only absorb from monster with high agility.

Marionne's compatibility was sword. Sword compatibility was common and there were lots of monsters related to sword. Gin's compatibility was the best among the three. It was water. Apparently, all monsters related to water. Dean tried giving Gin a monster soul but it was not working. Dean did not know why but then he remembered, only the one who killed the monster can use the monster soul.

Gin, Marionne and Xiao Han wondered why Dean wanted to give them the monster soul. They already knew they won't be able to use it. Dean was the one who forgot about it.

Few days passed and they killed a lot of viruses. The count now reached 70 and they needed to killed another 30 before they can get back. All 70 viruses were not fully their contributions. Some of them were killed by other people that they have not yet met even once.

All four of them wanted to get back. The most desperate one was Marionne and Gin. Gin will be getting married in a week. It was his third marriage. He got divorced with his two previous wives. He had three children. Two with his first wife and one with his second wife.

Marionne was a single mother. Her husband died in the third dimension. She had a son and she was worried about her son. Her son was only five years old and her neighbor had been taking care of her son. She did not have any other family member. She actually planned to retire from the dimension and lead a normal.

Xiao Han was just a guy from a rich family. His family ran a chicken fast food company. He missed his home and did not want to die.

They got closer and closer with each other the more time they spend with each other. Dean had also gotten used to their personality. Xiao Han was a bit spoiled at the beginning but he got better and better each day.

Gin was a rough guy. He was usually serious and he was like their group leader. He was also the strongest in the group. When fighting the viruses, he usually the one who weaken the virus first with his skills.

Marionne was the nicest in the group. Maybe because she was a mother and her motherly ways penetrated to Dean and others. When they made some silly mistakes, Marionne will nagged them like their mom.

Although they were in a dangerous place, Dean never felt this happy since he awakened. After he awakened, people around him ignored him and never paid attention to him. Having that many people treated him that nice, he felt blessed meeting them.

"Let's work hard killing all these viruses and go home," Xiao had gotten so determined to exterminate all the viruses. As the count rises, he got more excited.

"Luckily, the others did a good job," said Gin referring to the other human in that place though they never met them.

"I wonder where they are? We have been looking for them but we never caught sight of any of them." Said Marionne.

"I am sure we will meet them soon," said Dean.

While they were walking around looking for the viruses as well as looking for the other human, they suddenly heard someone fighting. Upon hearing that sound, they all quickly went towards the sound. When they reached the area, they found three human fighting three viruses. They were in a pinch. Dean recognized one of the humans, it was Kai. Dean was happy to see Kai.

"Let's go!" said Gin with serious voice. He activated one of his skills that he had been using fighting the viruses, Water Magic: Water Tornado. He got the skill from killing a mythical grades monster name Aqua Storm Eel.

When Gin said that, Marionne ran towards Kai's group, Xiao Han used one of his skills and vanished from their locations because he moves too fast and Dean used his slime soul on his body to protect himself and to his dagger to push the core out of the virus' body.

While Kai and his group were desperately fighting the virus, suddenly Xiao Han appeared and slashed one of the viruses but nothing happened to the virus and Xiao Han lost his sword. A surge of water suddenly hit the virus and send it flying.

Kai was shocked with their appearance and he and his group looked at Dean and his group. When Kai saw Dean, he was happy to see that Dean was fine. A smile formed on his face. The other two in Kai's group also felt happy seeing more help came.

While they were happy seeing them, Marionne suddenly shout, "Don't lose your focus!!" Kai and the other two snapped, Kai saw two of the viruses was behind the two guys. Xiao Han was activating his skill and he was stunned. Two new notification appeared.

'Virus killed 72/100'

When the virus touched the two guys body, the virus body assimilated with the guys body and they turned to dust and then they got the notification. The two guys were killed by the virus.

Dean, Marionne, Gin and Xiao Han were shocked but not Kai. Most of the things that they had wondered all this time was answered. Kai quickly used his skill and fly. Dean saw the virus Gin knocked before got back up again. Dean throw his dagger and pushed the core out. Marionne and Gin snapped from their shocked and Marionne slashed the core and destroyed it. The virus vanished and the 73rd virus was killed.

Kai flew down towards Dean and hugged him. "Thank God you are still alive," said Kai. He was so happy to see Dean was alright. However, Dean was absent minded. Not only Dean, the others also the same especially Xiao Han.

Dean looked at Kai and asked, "Are the other humans died like this too?"

Kai looked at Dean. He looked down and nodded. The others were shocked. "The killed notification… Were all of them got killed by the virus not they killed the virus?" asked Marionne.

Again, Kai nodded. "You guys are the first human that I found able to kill the virus. The others I met all got killed by the virus. I got lucky because I can fly but the others not. I have been flying most of the time to find other humans but I always arrived too late and they got killed. The two other guys who just died were the only two I got to help…"

"I guess we all survive thanks to Dean," said Gin. Gin then walked to the stunned Xiao Han and touched his shoulder. "Let's go. Now that we know how dangerous the virus is, we need to move faster and find more people. We might be able to save some of them," said Gin.

Marionne agreed with Gin. "Let's move fast. If we find more virus, lets kill them all," said Marionne. Marionne actually felt scared that the virus can killed them with only one touch but if they wanted to get out of that place, they needed to kill all of them.

"My name is Kai. Nice to meet you," Kai introduced himself. "I will scout from the sky to see if there will be more people we can find," said Kai. He took out his wings and fly to the sky but suddenly, something black flied towards Kai really fast. Kai was taken aback by that and failed to evade.

"KAI!!!" Dean was looking at Kai. Kai looked back at Dean and he vanished. Kai was killed by the virus. Everyone was shocked by that.

"This is not good," said Gin. Gin looked around them. Xiao Han and Dean also looked around them and their eyes wide opened. Marionne faced was paled.

"How can we escape from here?" tears were flowing down from Marionne eyes.

Around them, many viruses appeared from the forest. "Don't lose hope!! We can still do this!!" Gin shouted. A huge surged of energy can be felt coming from his body. He spread his arm and a huge barrier of water appeared. Marionne took out her sword, Xiao Han activated his agility skill and Dean used his slime soul.

One virus suddenly walked towards the water barrier and touched it. It suddenly assimilated with the barrier, and the barrier was broken. They all were shocked that the virus can do that. The other virus marched towards them from all direction.

Xiao Han panicked and ran towards the virus hoping to get out of their blockage. However, it was not working. One of the viruses suddenly moved as fast as Xiao Han and caught him. Xiao Han died.

Marionne tried to slashed all incoming viruses but to no avail. The virus caught her. While crying, she called out, "Mat…ty," her son's name.

Gin tried to push all the viruses away from him but the viruses kept destroying his skills and he got caught too and vanished.

Dean saw everyone he treasured died one by one. In a rage, Dean used the slime soul on all parts of his body. Yellow fumes coming out from all over his body.

"DIE!!!"
