Chapter 4 - Comparison In The City (3)

Thompson was learning fast as he is now used to some little things in his uncle's house. He had fun watching the movie as he had a good laugh. His uncle's wife and the housekeeper came from the mall with a lot of goodies. Popcorn was shared with the members of the family and ice cream. Thompson was fond of the popcorn but not too well with the ice cream.

He asked a question, "why is it so cold?". His uncle and his uncle's wife burst into laughter as they replied, " that is how it always be." That didn't soothe him well as he asked again, "can it be warmed?". The kids answered in chorus, " no uncle!". His uncle told him to leave it for a while to dissolve it. He did for some time while others enjoyed theirs.

He picked it up after some while and drank it at once. He exclaimed, "it's so sweet!" The whole family laughed. Thompson smiled too as he said he will get used to almost everything. Cookies were served too and Thompson didn't hesitate to give a bite. He seems to be enjoying it as he was smiling all along. He said to his uncle, "Uncle, I hope I'm not going back soon?" His uncle sighed and said, "definitely if you are not stepping out of the boundary, you might be here till you decided you're relocating to any country you want to."

Thompson asked, "what do you mean by stepping out of the boundary?" His uncle sighed and said, "it means a lot but I would like to tell you a story of a boy that works with me at the shop before I sent him away." Thompson settled to hear the story but his uncle told him he was not doing that at the moment as he needs to make some calls and check on his friends. Thompson asked if he can follow him but he said it was official.

His uncle left while his uncle's wife keeps entertaining him. His uncle's wife told him that he would love to take him to the beach, a resort, a mall, and some amazing places. Thompson was over-excited that he will be able to tell his friends how he was pampered in the city. The fact that there was light since he came triggered him to ask his uncle's wife if they're been running the generator. His uncle's wife told him that it was an estate and that the estate used constant light. Thompson concluded that he will own one in due time. He's uncle wife advised him to work on his dream as it is so achievable.

Thompson was so happy to be surrounded by positive people. Village life is not of the city. No one to do all that his new family doing. Everyone minds their business even as a family in the village. In the city, there are things to motivate one to think outside of the box and be useful to oneself and family even without anyone encouraging one to do that. Thompson had never thought of inhabiting an estate back in the village. His thought is to be a village chief and or a great hunter.

Thompson feels so good and happy to have such good moments and aspired to make his new family proud of him. He was hardworking, simple, and repeatable. He knows what to do and the right time to do it. This makes his uncle and his uncle's wife love him more.
