1 Counterattack

Boku, a handsome young man at the age of 22 who was assigned the role of commanding officer in the Kingdom of Kares (Care-E's). His high ranking is due to his immaculate sword skill, his ability to lead, as well as his pyro abilities. He is respected by all of his men, and is known throughout the kingdom for his bravery, nobility and kindness. He even takes on problems that don't concern the health of the kingdom simply because he genuinely wants to ensure the happiness of the people that love him so much.

Kares is a thriving nation with a large and growing population, housing many different species and races that each possess different traits and powers. Across many other nations, there are many other types of people that Kares has yet to see.

Wizards and humans are identical, so being a half-breed like Boku is, no one can tell that has both of the species' blood in him. Those who don't know at least that part of his story will just assume that he is one or the other.

It is morning now, about 9:00 A.M., and Boku is in his place of residence, off-duty and and sleeping. There are plenty other soldiers that are off-duty as well, but those that are on-duty usually guard the walls or roam the kingdom, making sure that there are no intruders that slipped past Kares' defenses.

A soldier bangs on the door of Boku's house and is let inside by one of his servants. The door to his sleeping chambers are then opened, and Boku is awoken by a message from the frantic soldier.

"Sir! There are goblins storming the keep!" the soldier exclaimed frantically.

Boku shot out of his bed and put on his armor quickly.

"Man your station once more, soldier!" Boku ordered. "I will ready my men and we'll be there at once!"

The soldier left and the servant wished Boku the best of luck.

"Hold down the fort for me, will ya?"

"Yes, sir." the servant replied.

Boku left his home and stormed the dorms of his resting soldiers.

"Men! Prepare for battle at once! Those green bastards are back again!" Boku yelled.

The men immediately awoke from their slumber, put on their armor and gathered their weapons.

Boku and his men went atop the kingdom walls and looked down. There were thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands of goblins attempting to storm the kingdom.

"Holy shit..." Boku muttered. "Archers! Fire!"

Just then, hundreds of arrows from hundreds of different soldiers went flying down towards the goblins, which were crawling up the kingdom walls.

Many arrows hit, but some did not. There were still too many goblins to count, and any soldier that dared to go down to fight hand-to-hand would be history.

Wizard towers were now manned with a couple mages. Wizards are hard to find, especially those who would join the ranks of the military. They blasted the goblins with as many spells as possible, ripping their bodies apart until they were nothing but piles of flesh and gore on the grass.

But, after a while, the mages needed breaks. Casting that many spells one after another is exhausting.

"Those fuckers just won't let up!" exclaimed Orlin, another commanding officer and a good friend of Boku.

"Yeah, and I'm just about tired of it." Boku said, clenching his fists in fury. "I'm going down there."

"No. Don't even think about." Orlin demands. "You'll get yourself killed. You're too valuable."

"How am I supposed to prove my value if all I do is sit here and watch these bastards storm my kingdom just to rape and pillage it?" Boku questions. "If I go down there now, and use every ounce of strength that I've got, I can send a good lot of them to hell."

"Maybe so, and I know you've got the skill to hold fend them off. But going down there just means suicide if we don't know whether or not it will change the outcome!" Orlin yells.

Boku ignores Orlin's plead. "Mages! Hold your fire! Build your strength and release your most powerful spell! That's an order! I'll buy you some time!"

Orlin contradicts Boku's order. "No! You must keep firing-!"

Boku then jumps off the wall.

"NO!!" Orlin yells at the sight of his best friend practically jumping to his death.

Boku guides his body's fall with a wave of fire beneath his feet, softening his landing. He meets the gazes of hundreds to thousands of goblins fearlessly.

"Bring it on, you inbred rejects." Boku provokes.

He unsheathes his sword and readies his pyro magic. A wave of goblins swarm him, and he fends off every one of them. Dodging, weaving, blocking and countering as many attacks as he can whilst killing as many as he possibly can. One after another, the goblins go down. Soon, a hundred of them are down, then two hundred, then three hundred.

By that time, Boku is reaching his point of collapse, as he's already pushing beyond his body's own limits. He unleashes one big wave of fire, killing about fifty to a hundred of the goblins, until he can finally no longer fight back. In the meantime, archers had been picking of hundreds of them as Boku was battling in close-quarters.

Boku is then struck by several goblins, but is unable to fight back. His body no longer responds to his commands. And yet, he still didn't let go of his sword.

He is swarmed by about a hundred of the green beasts and is about to close his eyes and prepare to die. But first, he uses every fiber of his being to stand on his feet again.

"Hehehehe...well...hopefully I bought us a little more time." Boku says, hopefully. "Though, I guess I would've a preferred to die at the hands of a more dignified people."

Boku chuckles a little more before his body gives out and he begins to fall.

Just then, he's grabbed and taken aflight by an unknown entity. His lack of strength causes him to drop his sword.

"Grgh!" he grunted.

He looked up at who or what grabbed him. He could make out a beautiful woman with purple hair and golden yellow eyes. And she had...wings?

"Who...who are you?" Boku inquired weakly. "What do you plan on doing with me?"

"I'm saving you, dummy." she said. "And my name is Misumi. I'm a fairy."

"Misumi...huh?" Boku said as his voice trailed off. He couldn't stop looking at her. He was astonished by her body and how majestic she seemed.

"If you're here to help me, then bring me back to my men...I have to help them." Boku begged.

"They'll be fine." Misumi said, reassuringly. "You did your part, and now it's time for them to do theirs. You barely have the strength to stand right now."

Boku looks down, unable to disagree with the Misumi. But he also looks down in embarrassment over the fact that he couldn't stop staring at her.

She flies over to a recovery camp, where injured or exhausted soldiers are treated and can rest.

She slows her flight and finally comes to a stop above an empty sleeping bag with two pillows and a lantern. She lays Boku down on the sleeping bag, putting his head on one of the pillows.

"Thank you." Boku manages to squeak out.

"You're welcome." Misumi replies.

She then sits Japanese-style next to Boku and puts her hand on his face.

"Wh-what are you doing?" Boku asks as his face turns red slightly.

"Checking to see if you're real." she says without fail. She then grabs Boku's hand and puts it to her chest and asks, "Can you feel that? My heartbeat?"

"Yes, I can."

She puts his hands back down and slides out of one part of her dress.

"What are you doing now?" Boku asks, his face getting even redder.

"I'm exposing one of my wings so you can see them.

Boku notices the way her body and skin looks.

"She probably doesn't have a hair on her except for her head." Boku thought.

"Do you like them?" she asks.

"I love them. They're unlike anything I've ever seen."

"Are there others like you? Other fairies, I mean." Boku inquires.

"...I'm the only one in my clan." she replies.

"I see..."

She lays down and slides over to Boku's side, laying her head on his chest.

"I wanna stay here with you." she says.

"And do what?" Boku inquires.

"Sleep. Just for a little while. Let's both rest here so that I'll be able to see you again once we wake up."

She hugs Boku tightly and sleeps curled upon his chest.

Exhausted, Boku finds himself losing consciousness as well.

Several hours later, in the early afternoon, Misumi awakens. Boku can feel the fairy's warm breath on his chest as he opens his eyes. She yawns pokes Boku on the cheek.

"It's time to get up." she says softly.

Boku sits up with haste, but notices all the resting soldiers that are scattered about the camp.

"Di-...did we win?"

"Hmm, I think so."

Boku lies back down with a heavy sigh of relief.

"Thank God..." he says while exhaling. "So, what do we do now?"

Misumi lies back down and, with one hand, moves Boku's face so that the two are facing one another while laying on their backs. She then moves her hand down to his bottom lip and puts the tip of her index finger on it.

"Whatever you want." she says with a smirk.

Boku's eyes widen as he examines the beautiful fairy woman that's laying right beside him.

Completely taken over by her golden eyes, her purple hair, her fresh skin and full lips, he pulls himself closer to her and kisses her passionately.
