3. Soon To Be Husband

"Miss Nadine.... What are you doing now?"

Nadine still sits at her chair thinking what should do to confront Adrian for cancelling their wedding.

"Anna, can you help me?"

Anna looks at her boss with confusion. This is the first time she is hearing Nadine wants some help from her.

Usually she will say,

'I can handle it' or 'I'll do it myself'.

Didn't get any response from Anna, Nadine looked at her again and called her name several times.

"Anna..."

Anna came to her senses and began to focus on Nadine's order.

"Did I say something wrong?"

Anna begins to get confused again.

"Wrong? Huh? There is no such word in your dictionary."

Didn't realize that she said it out of loud. She gasped and immediately closed her mouth. Nadine just chuckled and then gave her a warm smile.

"Ha ha... Then let me add that word in my dictionary today."

Anna feels a little bit embarrassed with her words. A girl who's 8 years younger than her is teasing her now. Usually she likes to boss around and never make a joke to anybody. Never give her employee a warm smile and never reply to their greeting whenever they pass her at the office. Even when she meets her client or her ex lover.

She will only smile when her father compliments her job which is so rare to be seen. And last time she saw her smile was when she was planning her wedding with Adrian. She looked happy and content even though it was just a forced wedding for Adrian. She smiles a lot after she meets Adrian and becomes obsessed with him. That was the beginning of her

wicked plan for winning him and getting him to marry her.

"Sorry... I didn't mean to mock you. It's just rare to see your smile."

Nadine seems to be thinking what Anna has said. And begin to smile again.

"Did I? Then I'll smile more from now on."

Anna was shocked again with Nadine's words. Her cute face looks in trouble right now.

"Am I fired?"

Nadine gives her puzzled look and when she realizes something, she begins to laugh again.

"You're the second person who asked me that question. Ha ha ha.."

Anna is still confused with that answer.

"Don't worry I'm not gonna fire you if you help me."

Anna nod her head.

"Anna, don't prepare the contract. I still want to cancel the wedding. Help me to clear my schedule, I'm gonna meet Adrian."

Anna wants to refuse her idea when she remembers what her father did to her before. But Nadine gives her a sweet smile again.

"Don't worry... Just stay here until I call you. And about my father...."

Nadine is still thinking of how to tame her father.

"He will be fine. He's just mad because we've lost from a small resort like Miller. If I can bring him a good deal, he will be fine."

Anna still wants to refuse Nadine's idea. But when she looks at Nadine confident she can't reject her.

"Okay... Just make sure you can finish that before eight tonight because Mr. Henry wants to process it tonight."

This is the first time Nadine feels so glad that she feels like jumping over.

"You are the best Ann!!! I love you cutie!!"

Anna just dumbfounded with Nadine's hug and word.

"Since when have you become a huggy person?"

Nadine just tightened her hug and made her tiny figure sink at Nadine's tall figure.

"Ooh... You cutie pie."

Anna feels annoyed now. She doesn't like if someone calls her cute because it makes her feel so tiny.

"Stop calling me cutie. Or I'll tell your father about your stupid plan."

Nadine releases her hug from Anna. And make an apologetic face.

"But you are cute."

Anna gives her a heavy sigh.

"Are you sick or something? You're weird from this morning."

Nadine already reaches the door but she turns her head and gives Anna a big smile.

"Just consider that I've been reborn again as a new person."

Anna chuckled and gave her reply that made Nadine laugh harder.

"Then I'll note that you've gone insane."

Nadine leaves her father's office. She greets everyone and smiles at them. In her previous life she never did that. She thinks that they're just like air.

When her husband treats her like that, she feels so miserable. Even a small snicker from her husband for mocking her makes her feel she exists in front of him.

Her husband's scandal with many women makes people talk behind her back. They assume that she deserves that because she is never good to people and likes to ruin people's lives.

So she wants to treat other people the way she wants to be treated. Her drastic change made people in her office look confused. They just nervously greet her back.

"What is wrong with her suddenly? Maybe because of her wedding?"

Nadine just ignores that. And like her father said.

"Just stick to your plan Nadine."

At the front gate Jim is already waiting for her.

"Jim... Please send me to Miller mansion."

Jim looked so tense then he blurted out a word.

"Miss Nadine, you don't have to be so polite to me... It scares me."

Nadine laughs again. She realizes now that in the past she was a cold hearted person.

"Then prepare yourself, I'll be more polite from now on."

Jim just let out a sigh again. Hoping that's not a temporary kindness from his young miss.

They arrived at Miller mansion 20 minute later. When Nadine wants to get off she sees something that will burn her jealousy, like in the past.

"Oh... Olivia is here too."

"Hmm... Miss Nadine should go back to the office."

Nadine just gives Jim a small smile.

"No... I came here not to separate them. I wanna get them back together as lovers again."

"Huh? Miss.... A... Are..."

Nadine chuckled seeing Jim hanging his mouth open.

"Close your mouth Jim."

Nadine comes to look again at that ex couple. Sad gaze still lingering at her eyes, but she just decided to let Adrian go.

Adrian's eyes look warm when he is around Olivia. He looks frustrated but still so gentle with her. So different when she met him at her office today. Suddenly a stinging feeling hit her, not knowing it's from her small cut or from her broken heart.

"They look like they suit each other right?"

Jim doesn't have the guts to answer her question and just remain silent. True, they look so good together. But his young miss doesn't look ugly too with him, on the contrary she is too good for him.

"You look good too Miss."

Nadine gives him a small smile.

"You flatter me Jim. But I've heard this word somewhere. If you try to ruin other relationships someday my relationship will be ruined in the same way."

Jim looked a bit shocked with Nadine's statement. He gathered his courage and gave Nadine a question.

"Miss Nadine. Are you sure this is okay?"

Nadine didn't answer his question because honestly this is not okay to her.

Not taking a long time, Olivia leaves that place. And then Nadine comes to approach Adrian as if nothing happened before.

Adrian looked a little bit shocked to see Nadine.

"Hello Adrian? Can we talk a little bit?"

Adrian snicker at Nadine's question. He suddenly closes the door in front of Nadine. But Nadine blocked the door with her legs. Nadine looked winced a little because the door hit her leg.

"Ouch!"

Adrian instantly released his door and Nadine took the opportunity to barge in and left Adrian speechless with her action.

"Can you please not disturb me!"

Nadine ignored his shout and just went to his house. That house looks so small compared to her house but it feels so warm inside there. She remembered in her past life he just brought her to that house once. And that's because she forced him to do that.

Wanting to get close to his husband's aunt and bonding with his other family members, she forced him to bring her to his parent's home. But that didn't go as she had planned. Because like this time, there is her love rival, Olivia. Those sitting at that house have a good chat with his aunt.

And suddenly Nadine just went mad, jealousy took over her, instead of the good attitude that came from her, her evil and arrogant side that she was showing to them.

Honestly she really likes that cozy house but she was mocking that tiny house. She was told that it just looked like her bedroom size. And she left an angry Adrian in Olivia's care.

"Your house looks so cozy!"

She is going around his house without Adrian's permission. When she wanted to enter his living room, Adrian suddenly blocked her from entering his house.

"You're not welcome here!"

Nadine gives him a small smile.

"Oh... Don't worry, we can talk here. If you agree with my offering, we can finish in any minute."

Adrian really doesn't wanna have a good talk with her.

"We had a deal at your office a moment ago. So we don't have anything to discuss anymore and just wait for tomorrow's wedding."

Nadine still insists on talking with him no matter what.

"Just listen to my deal...."

Adrian stood still at his entrance and refused her. Nadine feels a little annoyed with his stubbornness and doesn't have any option to say that word.

"Okay, let's get straight to the point. Cancel the wedding and I'll help you to get your company back."

Adrian looks pissed off this time and drags Nadine to go outside his house.

"You really like to throw away your toy when you get bored huh. Not just that, you broke them first and left them like a piece of trash."

Nadine triggered by his word and lost her calm a bit.

"You're not my toy and not trash. You should be grateful that I will be canceling our wedding! You can be together with Olivia again."

Adrian is shocked when Nadine shouts Olivia's name. And grab her arm with force to threaten her.

"If you do a wicked thing to her I will never forgive you! And you can't cancel the wedding, never."

Nadine whinced again because of his strong grip.

"Hiss.... You should be happy with my plan. Why are you against it so much?"

Adrian releases his grip seeing Nadine in pain. And trying his best to stay calm.

"Listen Miss Have Everything, I can't cancel the wedding because my father has already sold the company and all our property to your father."

That line gave her a shock. She never knew that in her previous life.

"What!! I've never known that deal."

Adrian snickering again and looking at Nadine with a disgusted gaze.

"Like hell you didn't know this. You tricked my father first and made him bankrupt to force him to sell his company!!!"

Nadine still has quite disbelief about what Adrian spouts at her. She has never done that scheming thing. This is the first time she heard about this.

"Wait.... Wait... Are you sure your father sold your resort to our company?"

Adrian rages again and shouts at her. His usually calm and gentle self has been gone for a minute.

"Then tell me who it is!!! Your father didn't know either why my father chose to sell his company!!!"

Nadine is still thinking about this.

"And why is that matter to our wedding?"

Adrian really doesn't know what happened to Nadine. Because she really looks like an innocent girl.

"Miss Merrick, because of your selfish wish to marry me, your father has a deal with my father. Our marriage will become our guarantor, he will give me back the company after I married you for 5 year."

"Wait.... Wait ... Trust me I don't know about that."

Adrian still didn't believe it and just snickering.

"Huh don't act like an innocent maiden."

"Well... The first point is true, I'm the one who tricked your father with that fake project but about the sold company matter, trust me I don't know about this."

Nadine said the truth, she just tricked him with that fake project not forcing him to sell his company and make that agreement with her father.

"Whatever you said, I won't cancel the wedding. Because I want to take my company back. Even if I've to go through that hellish wedding for five years."

Adrian still refuses to cancel the wedding.

"I can talk to my father. But first I need your agreement to cancel the wedding."

Nadine tries to convince him again.

"Huh? And he will throw you a knife this time. Miss Merrick you are the one who wants to marry me and drag my family to an unfortunate event. And now you want to run away after you've got what you want?"

He doesn't believe her and is still shouting at her. Nadine wants to defend herself but Adrian cuts her word immediately.

"Miss Merrick... I don't know what's wrong with you. But your father has clearly said that he won't support you if you don't do the contract. He doesn't want to lose his face because you've cancelled the wedding. And I don't want to lose my family resort."

"Like I've said. I will find the way. Just refuse the wedding."

Nadine doesn't want to lose at Adrian's statement.

"Miss Merrick, it's too late. This all property and my family life is owned by your father. My father left a lot of debt because of your trick. And left that agreement as his final way to save our resort."

Adrian let out a heavy sigh.

"Go on! Cancel it.... Do whatever you wanna do! But I will find a way to get revenge on you."

Nadine looks so frustrated. She doesn't want to repeat everything and canceled her wedding. On the other hand, her husband doesn't want to let her go because of his father's agreement.

"It's just the same thing, it would repeat again if we held our wedding."

Nadine let out her frustration.

"What the same thing? You ruin my family so don't ever think that you will live easily."

Adrian threatens her again.

"But don't you feel sad if you broke up with Olivia?"

Adrian gritted his teeth and shouted again to Nadine.

"Don't bring her to this mess!!! She doesn't deserve it!!"

"I..."

Riiing Riiing

Adrian took his phone and looked worried.

"Aunty? What? I'll be right there."

He drags Nadine out with a worried face.

"Is aunty okay?"

Nadine seems worried too.

"I don't have time to fight with you."

Adrian forced her to get out of his house.

"Wait.... I can drive you to the hospital."

Adrian clearly doesn't want to bring Nadine to hospital.

"I will just drop you there and go. It'll be faster than calling a taxi."

Adrian still agitated with Nadine offering but he gradually accepted her offer.

"Just drop me there. And don't make a fuss."
