18 I Can Explain

"What the fuck?" Abby's voice sprang up from behind.

Levi quickly turned with the flame still orbiting his hand. He could see Abby standing at the other side of the bed, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Involuntarily, Levi dashed with top speed, slamming Abby to the wall, grabbing her by the neck. "What?" Levi asked, confused.

[This is a problem, Levi]

Abby struggled to get off his grip. Her eyes turned white and she struck Levi with sparks from her hands. Levi flew back, crashing into a cabinet behind, still feeling the electricity all around his body.

Abby was charged with self defence as she walked closer with her abilities still ignited. "What the hell is going on?" She asked, her voice scary, more of an echo as white sparks danced all around her.

Levi got up slowly, the pain vanishing immediately. But he still had to act weak in order to prevent any other sudden shocks from Abby. He raised his arm in surrender, "Wait, wait," he said, panting.

[This is definitely a problem, Levi]

"Well what do you want me to do about it?" Levi asked loudly as he sat on the bed, the lights still out.

Abby, not failing to relieve her abilities, "I asked a question."

"I can explain," Levi said, a bit out of breath.

Abby chuckled, "Oh you better do! Cause I just saw you create blue fire out of nothing and you almost fucking killed me!"

"Shhhh," Levi hushed, walking to the door, opening it and peering out into the dark hallway.

"Don't shush me! You did try to kill me!" Abby's eyes still produced sparks, she kept a distance from Levi as he made his motion.

"I didn't do that on purpose, it must be Lexi," Levi replied, closing the door quietly. He could still hear the securities calling attention to each other. "How did you even get in here?" Levi asked, looking at the door lock.

"Who the hell is Lexi?!" Abby was definitely taking this off the roof. Her sparks, the only thing giving light in the dark room.

Levi sighed. "How did you get in my room? I locked the door." He studied her, "Did you sneak in while I was bathing, you hid all this while?"

Abby frowned and folded her arms, "Don't flatter yourself, pretty face."

The lights suddenly came back on. There was a resonating sound that could be heard throughout the building. The lights in the room turned on, giving everything back its colour.

Levi could see Abby and her folded arms, her eyes were still white and she leaned a bit to the right. She was dressed in a baggy long-sleeved wool shirt and short silk boxers. Levi also noticed she had started to loose her hair, one side was loosened and the other, still braided. She looked beautiful if he was to give his honest thoughts, very beautiful.

Abby looked up and around the ceiling as the lights came back on. She relieved her abilities and nodded her head, sizing Levi and his pyjamas. "So?" She asked, throwing her arms in the air.

Levi cocked his head, an information passing between them. Abby chuckled, "You're trying to gaslight me aren't you? Turning the tables as to why I'm here?" She sat slightly on a cosmetic table, her feet still on the floor. "Have you forgotten that I'm your shepherd? And I will still be until you stay up to a week here." She folded her arms again. Levi couldn't help but stare at her glowing skin.

Abby continued, "I was just walking to your room to make sure you're okay, maybe to....talk. And then, the lights went out." She looked at the door, "The locks work on electricity, so the door was open. I stepped in because...." She sighed, "Like I said, I was just looking out for you."  She slapped her laps, "Okay, your turn."

[I don't like where this is going]

"And don't leave out the part that I didn't see you in your room and how you sneaked in through a 27th floor window," Abby added. "And how you moved with extreme speed," she nodded with her arms still folded. "Yeah, yeah, especially that."

Levi felt defeated. He didn't even know what to say or how to start. Lexi was right, it was better no one knew about this for now. He was confused himself, and everyone would be if he tells them there's a voice in his head that gives him powers. How dumb is that?

He locked the door before walking to the bed and dropping down hard. "Honestly Abby, I don't know," Levi blurted out.

"You don't know?"

"Yah," he replied, scratching his head.

[Crap]

"Gosh!" Abby exclaimed dramatically. "You keep on surprising me! You just displayed two red potential abilities when you're a fucking grey!" Abby stated loudly.

"Please be quiet," Levi looked up hopelessly.

Abby calmed herself down a bit. "You caused the lights out?"

Levi only shrugged. Abby's confrontation had started to remind him how his father yelled at him a lot. When he was little, he used to hide his dad's work files and instruments, hoping he would forget about it and concentrate on him.

"Are you really that broken up there?" Abby asked with concern. She walked to him and sat very close beside. "Alright, tell me what's going on," she beckoned, placing her arm on his shoulder.

[Would you, Levi?]

Levi took in deep breaths, not only because of the answer he was about to give, but also because a girl of his age was sitting so close to him. "I guess the transparent box was wrong. I guess maybe I'm a high potential academic after all," he said, unable to turn and look Abby in the eye.

"Well if that's so, it's a good thing isn't it?" Abby asked.

"I guess so."

[Good, Levi]

Abby drummed her fingers on Levi's shoulder, "You're a guy of mysteries....Levi Parker," she said sweetly.

Levi finally brought his wits together and turned to meet Abby in the eye. His blue eyes into her brown eyes and her brown eyes into his blue eyes. He was glad to have someone like Abby next to him.

Abby jerked her head towards Levi's slowly like she was about making a move, but she stopped and looked away. "Well, it's going to be a relief to everyone hearing you'll be more of a help when we arrive at the South Wing, right?" She asked and folded her lips, breaking the force field between them.

[No]

"No," Levi put in quickly as she stood up.

"No?" She asked, arranging her clothes.

"Don't... tell anyone about this, please."

"Why not?" Abby asked, looking back at him.

Levi stood up as Abby's eyes rose slowly, following his height. "No one should know about this, yet. Until I can wrap my head around what's really happening."

[Good]

Abby stood still, looking up at him. She only nodded and said "okay," before heading to the door. She smiled as her hand was on the knob, looking around the room and the little mess they made. "You should take care of yourself," she said.

Levi nodded approvingly, "And...please, don't-"

"I know," she interfered. "I'll see you in the morning." She stared at him for an awkward amount of time before she left the room, closing the door.

Levi quickly locked the door, he was sweating! He dropped to the bed on his back and spread his arms, panting hard. "Lexi?" He called out.

"Lexi?" He called again.

[I'm here Levi]
