1 I Blame the Knife

A very long time ago in Athens, Greece, an ox was stabbed to death by a knife. There was a trial to determine the criminal.

When the master was to speak, he said:'I blame the girls who carried the water that cleaned the axes and knives.'

The girl said,' I blame the man who used the water to polish the axes and knives.'

The man said,'I blame the one who stole the axe and knives.'

The theif said, 'I blame my son who used the Knife to stab the ox.'

The son said smartly, 'I blame the Knife.'

The judge asked the Knife, 'Knife, what do you have to say for yourself?'

In prison.

'To put it bluntly, I don't see the point of this...'the knife thought.
