New Home

Twenty minutes later, Yuki and Jiraiya were standing outside a building that had a large dirt yard and a wooden seated swing hanging from a tree limb. "This here is the academy that you will be going to next year. And the place you will be living is only five minutes down the road. So make sure you try to remember the way."

Yuki, who was standing next to Jiraiya, holding his hand, nodded her head. She would remember everything she could. She had noticed one thing about the man who was standing next to her as they had walked the streets. He seemed to hold some power within this place called Konoha. Even the Hokage guy she had met seemed to be interested in his opinion on things. This showed that he was not someone weak, at least she hoped. She was not sure of this. For all she knew, he could be some kind of scholar and be some weakling that she could even beat up in the current frail looking body she had now. This thought was quickly thrown out, though, because she knew as of right now that she might not even be able to beat up a fly.

The two walked down the street, and as Jiraiya had said, within five minutes, even going at Yuki's walking pace, they arrived at a three story apartment building. "You will be taking the apartment on the top floor. This will help you build more leg muscle as you grow by having to climb up and down the stairs. Once you gain more control of your chakra, you will be able to run around freely, whether it is walls, roofs, or even tree limbs."

Yukie nodded her head to this because she was no stranger to people doing amazing things. After all, her elder sister was an S class hero ranked two at that. She could even fly through the air, never mind leaping across rooftops. Thinking about her elder sister, Yuki began to feel homesick.

'Nee-san was very protective of us sisters and treated us with love and care. Although she had always been tough on Fubuki nee-san, she did so in order to push her to be stronger. If only I had half the power Fubuki nee-san did, then maybe….'

Yuki sighed and began to wonder if she could still use her psychokinesis. 'I will check this out later once I am alone.'

It was not that she was afraid of showing Jiraiya such power, but more of she did not want to feel embarrassed if she started waving her hands around like a weirdo and nothing happened. Then this man who was to be teaching her would think she was some kind of weird girl.

They walked step by step up the three flights of stairs which took a while with how little Yuki was. Jiraiya did not hold her hand and only stayed by her side, letting her climb each step by herself. It may seem cruel to force a four year old to climb so many steps on her own, but this was also to be part of her training. Jiraiya had noticed that she was not well fed and was slightly malnourished. He needed her to build up some muscle mass so she could easily deal with the training that would be coming in the days ahead.

"You will do this training five times a day, starting tomorrow. For today you can relax and get used to your new home. Tomorrow we will also go shopping to get you some new clothes." Jiraiya opened the door to the apartment. When Yuki walked inside and saw how big it was, she was quite surprised. Because it was quite a big place. From what she could see, besides the entryway, there was a large living room with a kitchen area off to the side. There was a bathroom in the hall of the front entry and two bedrooms off the living room opposite each other. Along one wall was a large glass sliding door that led out to a small balcony. It was already furnished with a small couch, a dining table, and chairs as well as some small beds in the bedrooms.

Yuki never expected she would get to live in such a nice place. When she heard the word free, she figured it would have been a small room with enough space to lay some futons down and a small cooking area. Maybe a small bathroom if they were lucky. But here she was in a full sized apartment.

"This is now your place. So you can do as you please with it. Of course, I will stay here as well during this year, but once you start the academy, I will need to leave Konoha for a while." Hearing Jiraiya say the place was hers was more of a shocker than finding out that this man would leave a five year old to fend for herself. Since she also knew nothing of this world's laws or culture, even if she did, she did not care. Especially since she was someone who was once sixteen and had to take care of her own daily needs every day. At that time, her elder sister could never cook for herself, and if she did, she and Fubuki would need to run and hide so they would not be sent to the hospital for food poisoning.

But because everything seemed surreal, Yuki couldn't help but want to confirm whether what she heard just now was right or not: "This place is mine?"

Jiraiya chuckled and nodded his head: "You will be living here from now on. As someone under my care, everything will be paid for. Every month you will get an allowance to allow you to buy everything you need. Tomorrow I will also show you where all the shops are. Relax a bit for now and check out the house. In a few hours, I will take you out to get some lunch. I am sure you are hungry by now. After that, I will give you a chance to ask me everything you wish to know about your situation and upcoming training."
