10 Fool him

Weeks later, in a quiet bar off the city.

"How is it?" The old General asked. His gaze fixed on Ramsey.

"The Princess has come up with a plan, so even if we don't make a move, she would not marry the second prince," Ramsey said with a smile. He looked at General Bruce, who had challenged his plans the last time.

"What plans? Don't tell me you want us to rely on the Princess; what if she fails?" General Bruce saw the provocation in his gaze. But He refused to admit defeat.

"She would not," Ramsey was very confident; the second prince of Guosho did not know Jessica too well, so it would be easy to fool him to marry a new wife.

"Are you sure?" Another general asked.

"Of course," Ramsey was very confident. Moreover, he was not just going to watch; he was going to ensure the plan worked.

"Tell us her plan; at least this way, we can create a backup plan in case," the old General requested. He agreed with General Bruce; no matter what, they could not put all eggs in one basket. If the princess by chance marries the second prince, their efforts will go to nothing.

"The princess plan to secretly make her cousin replace her," Ramsey said with a sly smile.

"That is a wonderful plan," General Bruce had no choice but to admit. Many of the men seated also felt this way. The old General frowned his brows. "You can not allow General Daiz's daughter to marry the second prince; this would be shooting our own foot," he announced.

The room fell quiet. Although no one understood why the old General was agaist it, no one spoke. Instead, they waited patiently for him to explain.

"Can't you tell?" The old General asked when he saw the questioning look they were sending him.

"No, this is a good move; if the second prince realised he had been tricked into marrying the wrong person, the small bond holding the two families would finally be broken. If the two elephants fight, this will be good for us," General Bruce said. The old general looked around to see if anyone noticed the flaws in this plan.

"Are you all blind? No matter what, she is a family member of the Tait. At most, the current King and his daughter will lose power. Then, the second family will sit on the throne," the old General said.

The hall went quiet; they seemed to have all realised the problem with the plan. Now Ramsey could tell that his problem would become more significant if the second family should take over the throne.

King Lorenzo has been fair to the people of Dumbi, but General Daiz was known for his greed, and if there is a marriage tie between the two families, then his chances of getting back the throne of his ancestor will be close to zero.

"What do we do now?" Someone asked. They all looked one to another, unsure of their next line of action. "what if we trick the princess into believing that her cousin will not be happy in the marriage?" Someone suggested after the long pause.

"do you think the successor that the king has trained is stupid?" the old general looked at the person that made the suggestion as though he was looking at a fool.

"no matter how smart she is, she is a woman; Ramsey has to just find a way to manipulate her into this?" the person did not think he was wrong; he never belive that king Lorenzo was brilliant, so he also looked down on Jessica.

"i can not do that; the moment I say that the Princess will marry the prince, she has the heart to use her cousin because they are related; in fact, she feels guilty towards her cousin. Do you think General Daiz can not see the benefits of his daughter marrying the second prince?" Ramsey was angry at the man that spoke. The princess loved him blindly; if he pushed too much, the princess would begin to suspect him.

The man bowed his head and did not say anything. he was silently angry at Ramey's manners but did not voice it out.

"why dont we just temper with the Princess's plan?" another suggested.

"That is impossible; the royal family will plan the marriage rite," Ramsey shook his head; the room was quiet again. Moreover, this was the princess's secret plan; she had only shared it with him. If he made a move, he would reveal his hand. No matter what, he needed the Princess to trust him. Many people may still doubt her ability, but he has seen her skills. He was not confident that if he faced fought with her, he would win.

"Then what should we do?" The old General asked.

"Benedict, she is stupid," a man who has been quit suddenly spoke up. Ramsey's eye flashed. He has seen the way she looked at him.
