1 We're Late!

As the cold rain touched his body he smirked and thought; How could somebody get away with a murder so easily? The thought raced through his mind but not for long, being that he already knew the answer. He wanted to convince himself that he didn't but there was no reason to do so. Everything had already been finished and there was nothing he could do to rewind time.

Andrew's alarm pierced through his ears waking him up in an instant. Keeping his face suffocated within his pillow he reached over to press the snooze button but instead pressed dismiss.

Andrew was a pretty tall male with brown eyes and dark brown hair wearing it in a short combed over undercut. He had a good amount of muscle to the point where he'd be able to defend himself or even win a fight. He had to wear glasses because he could barely see without them.

Waking up on his own accord he realized that he woke up passed his alarm but not immediately. He looked at his clock and had little to no concern until he noticed that he slept 30 minutes passed it. Seeing that he got out of his bed frantically and yelled.

"Ruby!" His voice reaching every part of the apartment.

"We're late!"

"Oh no, you're right!" Ruby said in distress.

Ruby is Andrews good friend that he met in college studying for criminal justice. They met at a party and Andrew got beat up by her boyfriend while he was drunk. He couldn't remember that happening but he woke up in Ruby's dorm the next morning so he believed what she was telling him.

She was the average height for a woman, thin but not too thin, white, had baby blue eyes and auburn hair. She never had her hair fully straightened. She'd always have slightly wavy hair because she thought it made her look better.

"I woke up on time too. I thought I pressed the snooze button on my phone but I guess that I dismissed it." Andrew said

"What are we gonna tell the boss? That we had to take a detour because batman was peeing in a public park?!." Ruby said angrily

"That's not even a realistic excuse, Ruby! Why on earth would we tell our boss that?! Regardless, even if we had a believable excuse we're still gonna get scolded. There's no point to beat around the bush so lets just get ready and tell him the truth when we get there." Andrew said

Andrew put on black dress pants with a white dress shirt, throwing a black topcoat over it leaving the coat unbuttoned. He put on his clear framed glasses and topped off the outfit with a black dust mask.

Ruby put on a white top with a black pencil skirt. Also putting on golden hoop earrings and a black choker.

"Ruby are you ready to go?!" Andrew yelled from the entryway

"Gimme a second!" Ruby said spraying perfume on herself

"Hurry up we're already late!" Andrew said

"Coming!"

Andrew and Ruby left the apartment building being 15 minutes late to work already. Knowing this Ruby called them a cab and waited for it to arrive. After about 5 minutes later the cab showed up outside of the apartment building.

Both Andrew and Ruby took a seat in the cab. Ruby taking the passenger seat, Andrew taking the back seat.

Andrew pulled down his dust mask and said

"Can you take us to 1326 Bull-Rock road?"

"That'll be $8" The cab driver said

Andrew reached into his pocket in search of his wallet and couldn't feel anything. He began to empty out his pockets and his bags and couldn't find his wallet anywhere. He noticed that the cab driver had already began driving so he pulled out his phone and texted Ruby

*Do you have $8 on you at all?*

After seeing the text Ruby looked back at Andrew from the front seat with disappointment in her eyes. She reached into her purse and gave the cab driver $8.

*How did you forget your wallet? That's like the most important thing to bring to work. What are you gonna have for lunch now?* Ruby texted back.

Andrew looked over at Ruby with a smile. It didn't take long for Ruby to recognize that he wanted something.

"I'm not buying you lunch." Ruby said sternly .

"How com-" Andrew was immediately cut off by Ruby's voice.

"No."

"YO! THERE'S A DUDE DRESSED AS BATMAN PEEING IN A PUBLIC PARK!" the cab driver yelled

"NO NO NO NO!" Andrew and Ruby said simultaneously

"KEEP DRIVING TO WHERE WE NEED TO GO PLEASE!" Andrew said in disbelief

They continued the rest of the car ride in silence until the time finally came for them to walk into the office. Both Andrew and Ruby were scared to even do so, feeling a sense of discomfort as they took a step out of the cab.

"Thank you." Ruby said to the cab driver.

"You aren't welcome. I missed batman peeing in a park for you two!" the cab driver said, immediately driving away afterwards

Both Andrew and Ruby looked at the cab drive away and looked back in front of them in confusion.

"Why would he want to see that though?" Andrew said in confusion

"Who knows?" Ruby replied.

Andrew and Ruby not prepared for the scolding they were going to get from their boss walked to the front door of the office.

"You ready?" Andrew said with a laugh

"You think this is funny we're bout to get scolded for being late again!" Ruby yelled in a whisper

"You think he's gonna fire us? Exactly. Just relax it's gonna be fine." Andrew said calmly

Ruby let out a sigh and looked at Andrew as they both stepped foot into the office starting their day of working hoping to not get scolded.
