21 Truth (7)

''Without Ivy, our little trio broke up you know... cause she was the glue that held us together.

Mia kept on trying to find Ivy while I slowly once again went back to my shell without anyone to talk to... I felt as if my whole world was collapsing around me.

It was then that some of my friends, or rather, some of my acquaintances, introduced me to drugs, and I also started taking them as a means to escape the horror that my life was.

Then exactly one year later that she returned but not as herself.

She started to act weird as she kept her distance from both me and Mia while she grew close to that snake of a cousin Millie and that bastard Harry.

At first, I thought that my personal knight had returned but, time proved to me how wrong I was.

So with my only outlet lost forever, I turned to drugs more and more.

And we all you know what happens next,

I got addicted and, like always, Ivy once again came in and saved me and then she packed me off to Hawaii.''

Finishing, Leo took a deep breath as his black eyes shined through his unshed tears.

Silence enveloped the room before it was finally broken by Damon as he spoke,

"I... I am sorry... so sorry I had no idea what you were going through... I ... I am such an awful brother."

"Save it."

Leo said in a firm tone,

"You owe Ivy and your son James more than what you owe me...protecting me was not your duty but protecting them was."

"Wait a minute!"

Roy said before he asked a question that was bugging him for quite a while.

"You just said that you had lost all contact with Ivy, then how did you know that she was coming back?"

"Oh well, about that..."

Leo said before giving them a sheepish grin,

''Mia called me yesterday and told me that someone had contacted her while identifying to be Ivy's secretary and told her that Ivy wanted to schedule a meeting with her, Mia thought that that was a joke and so she called me to tell me about it, but somewhere in my heart I felt that the call was genuine and told her to go there.

My flight got a little late, so I was not able to drop on in their meeting, but I am pretty sure that both of them have met."

"Hey, guys can we please focus on more important matters, please.''

Oliver, who was sitting quietly, asked.

"Damon, what about your engagement?"

-------------------

At the same time,

Executive room, Four Seasons hotel, New York,

A soft lullaby rang out in the room as a cool breeze came in from the open french windows making the pale blue curtains in the room flutter.

"Star of the night sky,

The sky's baby,

Your mother's precious little star,

A blanket made by clouds, a touch of breeze, a cradle of moonlight,

My little baby, my little angel,

A song of flowers on a spring day, a song of leaves on a summer day,

My little baby, my little angel

The warm sunshine of an autumn day, the cold breath of a winter day,

The star of the night sky, the sky's baby,

Your mother's precious little star,

My little baby,

My little angel.''

Ivy sang the soft tunes of the lullaby while James laid on the bed trying to fall asleep with his eyes closed,

Ivy sang out the last lines as her sweet voice echoed in the room.

Walking out of the bedroom, she closed the door behind her as she continued to walk on towards the office.

Entering the room, the first to make note of was not how luxurious the room was, but of the man who was kneeling on the floor with a bloodied face.

Walking towards him, Ivy sat in the chair, in front of him as she eyed the man who was standing beside him with a stoic face.

"What is the meaning of this?"

She asked the man,

"He was found snooping around."

Edward replied in a brief voice.

Sighing to herself, Ivy looked straight at the man in his eyes and told him,

"Do you know, there are two types of people in this world, one who you can not afford to offend and the second those who you dare not to offend and sadly for you, I top both the categories."

The man who was kneeling felt a shiver down his spine as he heard her.

"Shit, I thought that she was just a feeble and weak woman who ran away with her child."

Without waiting for his reply, Ivy continued as she asked him a seemingly unharmful question.

"Have you ever heard the name Belmont?"

The man who was still cursing his boss in his heart for giving him incorrect information, opened his eyes wide as all colour trickled away from his face.

"B...B...Belmont..."

He said, appearing as if he had seen a ghost.

"I am sorry... please just let me go, I swear I will leave this state... no wait...I will leave this country, yes I will leave this country."

"Hmmm..."

Ivy hummed as she played with one of the pens kept on the table.

"Leave and don't let me find you."

She finally told him.

The man stood up and after bowing to Ivy a couple of times, he ran out of the room as if he was on fire.

Looking at his departing back, Edward, who was still standing there told Ivy,

"They know that you are back now."

Ivy had had once again placed her focus on the pen, moved it in her hand as she lightly told him,

"It's okay for them to be aware that I am here and that I might come for them."
