29 The Party (7)

Calming himself down, Leo again continued in a calmer tone.

''She just said that she has no relationship with any of us present here, then why are all of you still shouting at her and blaming her for stuff she didn't even do.''

Walking ahead, he stood near his father, with still a little distance between them.

"She is here to collect this man."

He said while pointing to Almund and then continued,

''I see no reason for all of you to shout at her and call her names.''

Before Ivy or anyone else could say anything, an excited voice was heard as a little boy launched himself at Ivy's legs.

"Mama that was so fun you know me and Ed Ed ate so many things... we also saw a chocolate fountain!"

He started telling her with glee.

All the coldness emitting from Ivy disappeared as she smiled at her son. Picking her up she looked around and was happy to see that her bodyguards didn't need a reminder to keep their guns away in front of her son, as all their guns were once again safely tucked inside their bodies.

Looking forward, James saw the group of people with varying facial expressions and asked his mother.

"Mama, who are they? Are they your friends?"

Ivy looked awkward for a moment before she quickly recovered and told her son,

"Mama also doesn't know them...well except the young uncle in the front."

She said while gesturing towards Leo,

"That uncle is mama's friend from school."

James gave a surprised look before he asked Ivy,

"Like Hana?"

"Yes, exactly like Hana."

Ivy smiled as she told her son,

Leo felt tears pool his eyes as they turned blurry upon seeing his nephew.

He kept on staring at him in an attempt to burn his face in his memory as he noticed how much he resembled his elder brother,

Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he thought to himself,

'How blind was he not to notice this face which looks exactly like a printed version of his?

Turning his eyes sideways, he was not surprised to find his brother also looking at his son intently.

Coming out of his thoughts, he pointed to himself with his index finger as he asked Ivy in a heavily stifled voice,

"Ivy...me..."

Well, no one could blame him now could they? Because for him, it was the first time he was meeting his only nephew face to face since the day he was born.

Looking at James cute face, especially his chubby pink cheeks, Leo could only feel pangs of regret on missing out on the child's younger years and birthdays.

James looked at the weird uncle who looked he was on the verge of crying and was staring at him before he introduced himself.

"Hello, uncle I am James Crompton, mama's baby!"
