Chapter 5

I was about to greet the director when I heard a male voice say seriously "I just hope she ain't heavy or my neck might break."

With a smile on my lips, I confidently strode closer to the two men. "Unfortunately my agent didn't feed me breakfast yet so I'm on the lighter side for the time being. If I've known, I would have eaten a heavy meal before heading here." I commented with a hint of laughter in my voice. Both men turned in my direction. Rev doesn't seem to be flustered at all knowing that I heard what he said to the director.

"Ah, Xena dear. Still beautiful as always I see." Director Kong awkwardly said in greeting to lighten up the mood.

"Good morning Director Kong, long time no see." I smiled and lightly hug him in greeting ignoring the tall man near me.

Director Kong is now in his early 50's but due to his cheerful personality, he doesn't look like his age at all. I also heard from others that he and his wife are very harmonious and often run together every morning in their community so his physique is also good. He is only a bit taller than me so I looked straight into his eyes smilingly. We've first met in a teen drama that he directed where I acted as a female number 3. A very insignificant role compared to the big roles but I do my work seriously which happens to impress Director Kong. Since then he sometimes indirectly or directly refer me to his other friends in the film circle which helped me boost my career.

"Alright. Alright, let's continue our little reunion later as we still have a job to do." Director Kong smilingly said as he glanced at Rev by the side. Then he cleared his throat and seriously looked at me and Rev.

Director Kong stared at the beautiful woman and handsome man standing side by side in front of him. The man has a cool and uninterested air around him in contrast to the bright and cheerful countenance of the woman beside him. He has worked with both of them a few times and during those times they never miss a chance to bicker and secretly pit each other into a fight behind the scene. He heard a few rumors circulating within the entertainment circle about these two big stars being a couple and breaking up but there was never proof and was never addressed by the two. Both of them have a large number of fans and it is not impossible for them to secretly date due to their status within the circle.

"I'm not worried about your acting skills but you guys should not start to bicker like immature children during the shoot later. You guys seldom work with each other on set, better cultivate well together than fight alright?" Director Kong said as he alternately points the rolled script he is holding at the two treating them as mischievous kids.

I giggled. "Director Kong worries too much. Of course well do our best, we'll show you the sweetest couple you'll ever see." I jokingly winked at him as I said so. A few staff near us also chuckled as they heard my playful tone of voice.

"Not too much though, I might get goosebumps, there will be close-up shots later." a Rev added on the side nonchalantly. I didn't bother looking at Rev's face as I am only interested in talking to the Director but a smile is still plastered on my face as if agreeing to Rev's comment.

Director Kong also playfully laughed at the two who are now starting their little push and pull game. "Go to your position. Let's start with you both in bed then." He gave them one last glance before leaving and calling the attention of the cameraman near him. He didn't forget to give them a knowing smile as he strode away.

As Director Kong turned away from us, I turned my body to face Rev who is standing on my right. He looked at me with a raised brow. In seconds he leaned forward close to my ear and said in a whisper "Bed scene. How nostalgic." He then moved away with a smirk on his face.

I rolled my eyes at him as he turned towards the bed on the set. The set is not too big but the crew did a good job in arranging 'our room' to look comfy and bright. The bed with its green bed sheets is just the right size for 2 adults to lie in. There is about 10 staff on the scene trying things out and ensuring that no wires and unnecessary objects will be shown on the camera.

There is also a door a few steps away from the foot of the bed. This is the bathroom that we will be using later as we brush our teeth with the product we are advertising. Looking at the arrangement on set I was in a trance for a bit not realizing that I have been staring at the bathroom door with a frown.

I felt a light tap on my forearm which snapped me back to reality. Kaylin and the makeup artist glanced at each other before Kaylin said "Miss Xena, it's almost time to start filming are you ok?" Never thought I'll ever be daydreaming on set. I guess Jake leaving somehow did affect me.

I smiled at them and said "I'm fine. Just missed breakfast."

Kaylin gasped as if she remembered something very important, she then handed me a sandwich out of nowhere and whispered "Miss, this was handed to me by Mr. Rev's assistant though he did say not to tell you where I got it from." in a low voice that only me and she can hear.

With a raised brow I stared at the sandwich in her hand and didn't reach out my hand to grab it. The makeup artist just silently observed us as if not picking up any gossip to share with her sisters at all.

"Filming will start soon. I'll eat later." I said to Kaylin as I turned back and walked towards the set not forgetting to take a glance at Rev.

Rev with his back facing me is now talking to his assistant while his makeup artist is busy inspecting his face and body to ensure that he is camera ready.

His broad back gave me the illusion that I returned to the past and am now standing in a dimly lit room. Even if I don't want to admit it but it does seem nostalgic seeing his broad back. Imagining the sight of him walking away from me. "How melancholic," I mumbled to myself as I walked slowly in the direction of the bed.
