Chapter 3

The driver then informed the two women in the backseat that they arrived at their destination. Susan didn't cease in half reminding half threatening Xena to not be mischievous.

They are now on-site for a toothpaste commercial. Xena will be filming together with 3 other artists. Reporters rushed towards the car as they saw it entering the compound. The driver is well experienced and smoothly entered the gate even with the swarm of reporters outside. The camera shutter sounded as they try to take pictures of the star inside the van.

Xena smiled while looking at the reporters outside and commented "They are pretty energetic today. They are working hard in this heat." She then turned to Susan and said "I saw on Eyepic that Shay opened a cafe near here. Please call her and have her deliver sandwiches and some cool beverages here for them and the staff." As she said this the car was already parked and the door was pulled open by the driver. She slowly stepped out and added "Don't forget to ask for a friendly discount" Xena then winked at Susan and proceeded in gracefully getting out of the car.

Susan did not complain because she is already used to Xena's spontaneous generosity. Shay is one of Xena's close friends from middle school.

Susan did not wait for Mr. Yun, the driver, to open her door she got out and looked behind them. She can see the reporters outside the gate taking pictures of Xena. There are also fans of the artists mixed in the crowd.

Xena's fans called out her name and cheered for her conveying her words of admiration and caring words. Xena smiled at them and leisurely waved her hand in greeting. After a minute of smiling in front of the cameras and telling her fans to not stay long in the heat, she waved them goodbye and walked towards the front door of the building.

Susan already called for Xena's assistant and instructed her to properly distribute the foods she ordered.

Xena's POV

I met some staff along the way and greeted them back as they politely greeted me good morning. I arrived 5 mins later than the scheduled time but I am sure the director won't scold me for being late since I won't be filming the first part of the script.

I can see the director and the other personnel silently watching one of the female artists arising from a bed and acting like she just woke up and is headed towards the makeshift bathroom in the studio designed by the crew.

Her hair is in disarray as she stretched her arm up in an attempt to straighten her back as she trudged towards the sink. Her white nightdress clung to her body but she was nonchalant to all the eyes on her as if she is the only one in her room and not in a studio being filmed and watched by over a dozen people.

I can only see her back from where I am currently standing but her body language and the director not calling to stop the scene means that she is accurately portraying her role well. I heard that she just debuted 3 months ago and still doesn't have many projects. Her company did a good job in acquiring a role for this ad since it will be to a newbie's advantage if her face gets more exposure.

I was deep in thought and is standing still on the spot when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I was startled and turned my head around only to flinch in pain as I felt someone flick my forehead. I hissed in pain as I rub my forehead with my right hand. A serious male voice then entered my ears saying "Stop daydreaming and go have your hair and makeup done. You're already delaying work for everyone."

I glared at the tall man standing in front of me as I still gently rubbed my forehead. "Do you have to flick my forehead?! You are late yourself Rev!" I said to him in irritation. He only shrugged his shoulder as he walks past me. His assistant bowed sorry to me and is fussing over me as he says sorry over and over again in an apologetic tone of voice.

I was about to call out to Rev when I heard the director from afar shout "Cut" through the megaphone.

I took a deep breath and calmly said to the assistant near me "Tell him to stop acting like a child and act like his age." I then turned my heel and walked towards my dressing room assigned by the crew.

My happy mood is now gone as I directly stopped in front of the mirror and checked my forehead for any red marks or blemishes. A woman's vanity cannot be underestimated by anyone especially if you're in this line of work.

"A grumpy guy like him will stay single for life." I cursed as I slumped down the chair beside me. That's when I realize the confused expression of the makeup artist near me. I then sweetly smiled at her before explaining "Sorry. I was rehearsing my line. It involves swearing at old perverted men."

The makeup artist did not say anything as she slightly nodded her head and prepared her kit for the makeup.

Outside the room, a man stopped in his tracks as he heard the conversation inside the room. His expression did not change as he continued on his way towards his dressing room.

His assistant beside him does not know whether he should laugh or cry as he followed his boss. He sighed as he thought to himself 'This is going to be a long day.'
