Arc 2 : Chapter 3 : A new possibility (2)

"I finally awakened my abilities and the thing that struck me is which nature will my ability be?

This world is filled with humans having supernatural abilities. Every human has his/her own unique way of using their ability.

It is true that there is something called elemental attributes residing within humans of this world.

Through research it is found out that people actually control the environment by supplying energy and most of them use these skills out of instincts.

Many great warriors of this world gained control over both their instincts and also their mind giving them the highest advantage in a battlefield.

I simply read this in the books present in my father's bookshelf.

"Edan! E-Edan! You...", my parents hugged me out of joy.

They arranged a big party for celebrating both my birthday and awakening.

I really love the type of cakes which have nothing but chocolate. The black forest mounted with chocolate and the cream between the layers made of chocolate.

Yup I have a liking to chocolate.

Many influential people came to this grand party. I still had about 4-5 hours before the actual party so I went out to the plain area near the forest in my town.

The birds chirping and the wind rustling with the clear blue sky above and also the soft breeze bringing the aroma of the lake. It is really the perfect atmosphere to train my undiscovered abilities.

I put down my wooden sword and kept check of my sword skills which to be honest I made some techniques on my own because it is you who understands your body the best right.

I used my entire concentration and tried to feel the way I felt earlier today.

The inner dense aura swirled in a spiral path making a current which let my energy flow.

My outer surface was covered with a thin layer of my power while the inner core provided me a constant energy supply.

I couldn't draw all out even if I wanted to, perhaps my mental stability is not quite high yet.

With all my strength I pulled my right arm filled with energy and...

To my surprise my arms bent through space. I misunderstood at first and thought it was an attack which let me control wind and I was a wind user, but soon I figured out that my energy let me move my fist through space at remarkable speed like I was slicing through soft butter.

The impact from my fist was supposed to be in mid air but the air went like a blade and cut a trunk of a tree into half.

The tree fell onto the ground and to be honest it would have crushed me if it weren't for me to have been standing at a place where the gap between a long branch and the stem was present.

I went back home after 2 hours of further training and I came back home earlier than thought and it was 6pm.

"....."

"Where were you", a life threatening aura emerged out of my mother.

"Aaak!!"

I was scolded for wandering off without informing.

The rest of the party went well even my school friends came by and I showed them my abilities by showing my glowing fist.

"Edan so you really did manifest your abilities".

Amidst all the kids who were surprised in finding out that I actually awakened there was a familiar voice of a boy.

A boy at the same height as me with Golden hair and with bright yet lifeless eyes.

"Grant how is it going, you haven't forgotten that thing have you".

"Nope, how can I forget an opportunity to see whether your all talk or not", Grant replied in a rather mocking way.

"So do you wanna spar tomorrow at 7 am"

"I am in and if you run away I will consider it as defeat", Grant said while chuckling.

My party ended and the next day morning I was well prepared.

It was a fight where we were not allowed to use weapons.

We chose a plain field near the edge of the town opposite to the forest.

It was rather a really calm day with a little breeze. Train sound could be heard, my heart beat showed just how anxious I was and anyone would after waiting for 3 long years for this fight it would be the same to Grant.

The train sound disappeared and we marched down towards each other.

The heavy footsteps filled with our energies could be felt as the ground trembled.

I filled myself with energy at its max and it did go beyond the time I tried to use my powers during training.

[Due to adrenaline secretion his body could withstand greater stresses from his cores]

We both pulled our fists against each other and flew away from the recoil.

(Crash*)

My hands went numb from the impact and I could see the bruises on his fist.

It would actually be unfair because I recently gained my abilities and he was able to adapt to his powers for 3 long years.

Well this world is not a game to make things fair after all.

Then I could see Grant crossing his arms to the other side and his arms faced to the ground.

I could feel the vibrations and knew what frightening thing he was doing because he was a

Geo type user!

The next thing I knew I could see him move his arms from cross and spread them out.

Accompanied by that the ground shook and giant cracks emerged from which an expanding wave brought about rocky cliffs each of size up to 5 meters. He wasn't called strongest for no reason among the young kids.

(If any person with high geo abilities creates vibrations by moving arms from crossing to spreading then expanding ripples created offensive damage.

These were the confusing lines I read from a certain book and now I clearly understand what it meant.

I moved my body swiftly with my powers and smashed down the simultaneously emerging cliffs.

'Not yet', I whispered to myself.

My legs were bleeding from the impact of the flying rocks that were too big to be completely neutralized by my layer filled with energy.

The waves closed by and my energy from outside was depleting.

'Not yet'

I used most of the energy I had left in my outer core to dodge the bombarding waves that were being powered by subsequent waves from the stationary Geo user.

'Just a little more'

Ridges pierced through my thin depleting layer and then to my stiff skin.

They immobilized me and then...

"Now"

My inner core filled with ominous aura surged through the entire field.

Spiral energy fully condensed now made its move and now my body filled with a new energy was waiting to unleash.

(Drop*)

The rocks immobilizing me broke into pieces.

(Swosh*)

The wind bent when moved past me not just the wind the entire space bent on my will.

That's right I am the solo being with the attribute to control the Space!!

SPACE TYPE USER

Grant kneeled down after looking at the spectacle of dominance his opponent showed.

The emergence of a being that could change this world was standing right in front of him.

I reverted my core to its previous state and I won the duel because the opponent admitted defeat.

I approached the fallen boy.

"You won Edan now you can do whatever you want".

"You can remain as the leader of our class", I replied.

"What are you saying, you won now so it is you who should be their leader"

"You are someone I still owe my debt to so please think of this as repaying debt", I said.

"Debt??"

"You stuck to your promise and made sure no one caused problems to me and also you were the first to help me overcome my hurdle for the first time", tears started filling up within me as the emotions I had till now overflowed out of joy.

Till now never could I ever make any progress in being in good means with anyone. Every time I always felt only despair but now someone helped me fight the hurdle and didn't betray me.

"Tch, I simply didn't want some bunch of idiots to try to pick up on a weakling for no reason", Grant said while slightly blushing.

"I know"

I knew how he felt and I am grateful for his support when I desperately needed his.

I turned back and was leaving the field back home and just then...

"Congratulations on your awakening by the way", he said for once out of kindness with none of his edgy attitude.

I waved my hand towards him while leaving. It proved me something that this world is.....

A new possibility!!
