CHAPTER-17. Names hold Power.

Inside the 7th settlement, Carriages are lined infront of the Peacekeepers Headquarters. Black Armoured Men and women could be seen loitering around it's perimeter. All of them are about same age as Dan. Like a Bunch of Hooligans they are causing trouble. Undisguised disgust could be seen in their eyes.

Dan can clearly guess who they might be. But one thing he don't understand, what all these othersiders doing in this settlement? Dan could sense, Every single one of them completed their 5th Transformation.. at least.

Someone Completing 3rd Transformation by the age of 18 could be considered a Genius in the settlement. But a bunch of them appeared out of nowhere. Young talents like them are definitely not from here. What could be their purpose?

As Dan was wondering, A Young woman dressed in Dark red Armour came out of the Headquarters. Her violet eyes and violet short hair gave her a Beautiful but cold vibe. As always a Dangerously Beautiful smile was present on her face.

That Evoker Named sir Alex and another Huge, Burly man also appeared beside her. The moment she appeared all those young talents gathered and formed three Groups. While One of them showed respect towards Elena.. the other two groups remained silent.

It is Easy to guess what is going on here. Same old Faction and Internal Fighting. One of the Factions supported Elena, while other two have their respective representatives.

Elena Ignored them and headed straight for one of the carriages. sir Alex and that Burly guy also followed after her. She snapped her fingers and the Burly guy entered the Carriage. Few moments later he came out Dragging another shackled man with him.

Dan could see that man was shackled by Iron Chains with incomprehensible glimmering symbols. Bizzare thing is that man seemed like a Normal Human. The Burly man made the shackled man kneel infront of Elena. Hopelessness could be seen in the shackled mans eyes.

A crowd has appeared at some point. A show like this don't happen very often after all. Hidden among them Dan also watched this peculiar Unfolding events.

For some reason those glimmering symbols dimmed for few seconds. The shackled man didn't let this chance go and erupted with great strength. His hopelessness from before disappeared and a Dagger appeared in his hands. With Anger in his eyes he tried to thrust the Dagger into Elena's throat but.. He miscalculated.

As if expecting his Attack Elena Moved her body slightly and Dodged that Blade. She then grabbed the man's neck and threw him in another direction. The whole time her smile never left her face.

Dan who has been quietly watching everything saw a Man flying towards him out of nowhere. He panicked and Instinctively used his Martial arts to deflect the pitiful man in another Direction. Everything happened so quickly that Realization dawned on him a bit too late. Oops. He Messed up.

Of course, Elena didn't miss this. She was surprised for a moment but quickly hid it. A smirk appeared on her face as she approached Dan. Dan knew he can't get out of this situation anymore, So he decided to play along.

"Dan: Legacy, I think we need a Great Actor." Dan said telepathically.

"Legacy: Affirmative. I will take care of the acting part. You take care of her."

"Elena: That was quite an Unusual Move you just used? Did you learn it somewhere?" Elena asked with the same devilishly charming smirk on her face. But for some reason that smirk didn't felt good to Dan.

"Dan: No.. That Move earlier.. I don't know how it happened.. I saw that guy flying towards me.. and.. and after that.. my hands moved on its own. I didn't Learn it Anywhere." Dan said acting Panicked.

If Legacy was Human, he would have smacked on his forehead.

Elena found this Answer a little absurd. Elena Understands her strength very well. A throw like that could not be deflected by just a simple Move. But This 3rd Transformation Weakling did just that and now he is saying he did that accidentally.

When Elena asked Dan that question, she was actually studying his reaction. But she wasn't able to sense a single lie from his Word. Does it mean he really didn't do it Intentionally?

Standing in front of Dan, Elena studied him for a moment. No matter how you see him, He is just a ordinary country Bumpkin. How could this guy know a martial technique of that level.

This situation intrigued Elena. She laughed slightly but to Dan it felt like a Death sentence.

"Elena: I am Elena Morgini. A Direct heir to the House Morgini. What is your Name?" Elena asked Dan, looking straight in to his eyes.

"Dan: I am Dan. Only Dan, No surname." Dan replied with his usual tone but with a little apprehension.

"Elena: Dan? Haha... What a Funny name. does it even mean anything?" Elena asked with a slight laugh.

"Dan: yes, In a certain language I know, it symbolizes Generosity." Dan replied.

"Elena: Is that so.. I will remember it. But you should know that, Generous people are the first ones to die in this place." After relaying those words she left Dan and headed towards those Young Talents. She has something more important to take care of.

"Dan: Did we cleared her suspicion? Legacy Eject Nanites and spy on her.. Just in case. I want to know what exactly she is planning?" Dan ordered Legacy.

"Legacy: Affirmative. Ejecting Nanites." Legacy responded and some silvery substances came out of Dan's hand. They camouflaged themselves and vanished inside the ground.

Nobody noticed anything as everyone was actually focusing on something else..

Elena stood infront of those Young Talents quietly. Although she didn't Utter a single word, those young talents could feel.. her overwhelming pressure. Only the 2 representatives from opposition Factions somehow endured it. She could subdue a bunch of 5th Transformation on her own.. Dan wondered what is her actual power level?

"Elena: Sir Alex, How is our prisoner? Still Alive?" Elena asked without turning back? A smirk still present on her face.

"Alex: He is Alive, my lady. Although that throw just now broke some of his Bones, it didn't endangered his life. But my Lady.. Someone Tampered with the prisoner's Sealing Shackles and also gave him a Dagger. It is clearly a pre-planned Assassination attempt on your life, My Lady." Sir Alex stated.

Hearing sir Alex's word all those young talents showed a worried look. After all They were responsible for escorting this prisoner from the 1st settlement to this settlement. They could be held responsible for that prisoner going rogue. So all of them looked at Elena with a little apprehension. Ignoring them Elena spoke again..

"Elena: Sir Alex, ask our prisoner, who gave him that Dagger? If he doesn't give me an answer with in 5 seconds.. kill him." Elena ordered without a moment of hessistation.

Hearing that, Sir Alex wanted to say something, but remained silent. He sighe helplessly. Sir Alex did as Elena ordered and threatened the shackled man. That prisoner although resisted a little but answered nonetheless. He value his life after all.

"Prisoner: Don't know Him.. didn't see his face.. But he was one of the.. escorts who guarded me." That prisoner answered with broken sentences.

Those words thundered in the ears of those Young Talents. They started wishpering with each other. A tense atmosphere appeared between them. Fear and worry could be seen in their faces. At this moment Elena's voice sounded..

After a month of peace something finally happened Inside the 7th settlement. Dan don't know how it is going to affect him... But he is glad about one thing, today Legacy told him what his name means. Although he is not generous.. at all, he love this Name. After all..

As they say.. Words Have Meaning.. Name's Have POWER..
