CHAPTER-12. Don't need a Golden

Inside the Tavern Dan is Enjoying the food Basar had left for him. Although no one other than him can see it, before him is a dark blue Panel.

"Dan: There is still a lot of time before the Darkest Hours start. Let's check the Inventory and the Messages option." Dan said in his mind.

"Legacy: I have a Big Suprise for you. Hope you like it." Legacy Interjected in a mysterious tone.

Dan focused on the Inventory option and it opened. What he saw made him speechless. The Inventory had a lot of categories like Foods, Medicines, Clothes, Materials, Chemicals and even.. weapons.

Dan opened the food category and another panel appeared. Foods. All kind of Delicious looking Foods and Drinks he don't even know name of appeared. He drooled at the sight of them.

"Dan: All.. All of them are edible? Can I taste them? Right now?" Dan asked, acting like a kid.

"Legacy: Of course. Try one of these." Legacy said and a box appeared in Dan's hand. That Box was Bright red in colour and was Very cold to the touch.

Dan was excited. For the first time in his life he is going to Enjoy foods from another World.

He opened the box and a sweet smell spread Inside the room. He scooped a little of that substance and put in his mouth. A sweet and little sour taste ravaged his taste buds. Not the taste alone.. A cool and refreshing feeling spread throughout his body. Dan enjoyed this Indescribable feeling.

After finishing Half the Packet.. Dan asked Legacy, "Dan: How do you make these. It is so Delicious and .. cold."

"Legacy: It's easy as long as you have Fruits and Ice. What you just ate is called ICE CREAM." Legacy Expressed.

"Dan: It's Amazing. First those Insane Abilities and Now these Foods. Is there anything you can't do?" Dan was really amazed by Legacy

"Legacy: We are sent to Planet with little to no Information. Where Dangers and unpredictable situations might occur. That's why we have to be prepared for Everything. Those Abilities and weapons are for safety. Food and other necessary things for survival. Also my Code Doesn't end when we collect the crystal. My secondary mission is to Collect more Data on this Planet."

Dan Kept the Half finished packet Inside the Inventory Again. According to Legacy, Inside the Inventory Time don't exist. So nothing will go bad or spoil Inside that place.

Dan got to work again. Tommorw is going to be a Important Day. He should finish everything and get to sleep Early.

Dan carried the Trash and walked towards the Dumpster pit. The Dumpster pit is nothing but a large pit where everyone throw their Trash. On his way Dan have to walk past the Peacekeepers Headquarters.

Infront of the Headquarters, Dan saw a A very Luxurious carriage is present. A Girl about his age came out of it. The Girl had that Attractive but Devilish beauty. A scar faced Middle aged Man came out of the Headquarters and kneeled infront of the Girl.

People have already formed a crowd around the Headquarters. Dan Mixed into the crowd to understand the situation.

Still in a kneeling position, The scar faced man spoke, "???: Welcome to the 7th settlement, lady Elena. By your orders I have prepared everything Already."

"Elena: Thank you, Sir Alex. But can you clear these Bumpkins from Here. Their very presence Irritates me. It was a long ride and I am tired. So get me the Best Alcohol you can find in this God forsaken place." The lady called Elena spoke in a uncaring tone. Then she smoked something from a thin pipe like thing.

Listening her orders, Sir Alex nodded and glanced at another man. The other person Understanding sir Alex, Ordered the Peacekeepers to clear the crowd.

The crowd started dispersing so did Dan. But Dan had his eyes locked on that Lady called Elena the whole time. Dan knew by Instinct. She was a Lady from the otherside. And someone most likely from one of the Noble Houses.

Dan know for sure that, She was the woman from that powerful place.

Dan have a question though. What is her actual Background? Why that woman came to 7th settlement? Only time will reveal those answers.

Dan threw the Trash bag in the Dumpster pit and left that smelly place. On his way He saw someone so Unexpected. That person also recognized him and waved at him.

Dan approached the figure and spoke, "Dan: I thought you would be coming next week. Can I take that smile as, The trade was good, Nina?"

The girl called Nina laughed slightly and replied, "They are Expanding the 1st settlement. So the Raw materials were in high Demand. So, Yeah it was Better than I expected. How are you mr. Best Chef."

"Dan: I am the same old Dan.. except today was a very unusual day. But it was Something very Important. How about you?"

"Nina: Well. Everything went smoothly except this cut I got from a stray Arachnöjir Dread spawn. My Trade group witnessed a whole hive of them relocating. I thought they were going to attack us, But they just left without even stopping." Nina expressed in relief.

"Dan: A whole hive of them.. That's Unusual. Do you know where they were heading?"

"Nina: I think they Came from east and were heading towards South."

"Dan: Those Dreadspawns are very territorial. Are they just relocating or running away from something?" Dan conjured.

"Nina: Whatever. It has nothing to do with us. The Rangers and Peacekeepers will take care of it. I already reported this incident. More importantly... Are you free tonight?"

"Dan: I sure am." Dan understood Nina's hint. Dan didn't think much of this Incident as it was not uncommon. He had a very rough day today.. He deserves a good time.

Few Hours later...

The Darkness has already veiled the whole chain of settlement in Darkness already. The streets of 7th settlement are also silent.

Inside a dimly lit House two naked figures slept on top of each other. Life is a very Fragile thing in the Marus Forest. People Dying or disappearing is not uncommon. Life is Especially Hard if you are alone. So it is Okay to let loose Once in a while.

Nina looking at Dan whispered softly, "Nina: That was soo good. Did you complete your 2nd Transformation recently?"

"Dan: No. Still the same old Dan." Dan replied nonchalantly.

"Nina: I think you are lying. You definitely Got stronger." Nina stated certainly.

Suddenly, Legacy Interjected and mocked in his mind, "Legacy: It was thanks to my Passive Ability 'ENHANCED PHYSICAL CONTROL'. You should be grateful to me."

If Legacy had a physical form, Dan would have punched him in the Face.

"Dan: May be. Who knows. Are you Hungry?" Dan spoke in a mysterious tone and avoided the topic.

Dan was going to make something random to satiate his hunger, But Legacy suggested otherwise. Legacy is going to teach him How to make delicious food.

Dan First grilled the meat. Then using some soda and lemon he got rid of the foul smell from the meat. He cut whatever veggies he found and prepared them as Legacy advised. Using Nina's Bread, veggies, Meat and finally things called cheese and sauce Dan prepared a weird looking food.

Dan admired the 1st otherworldly food he ever made. According to Legacy it is a very Popular food called Burger. Dan shared some with Nina, who had a weird expression looking at the Burger.

They Both took a bite at the same time and "Woah". Flavours Exploded in Dan's mouth as he enjoyed the meat. As he Expected, Food culture from Legacy's world is on another Level.

"Nina: I never thought I will ever get the chance to eat something this delicious. Now I can Finally say, You are the Best Chef in the whole Marus Forest." Nina praised Whole heartedly.

Dan smiled but didn't say anything. The Night was long and Beautiful.

Dan Enjoyed his 1st otherworldly Food. Dan don't have a lot of things he likes. Even If a thousand people were to die infront of him it would barely affect him. But even he have things he likes.

And Dan will do anything.. Anything.. to realize them.

As they say.. You don't need a golden spoon to Enjoy food.
