Chapter 8: Have a nice... Status (2)

Well, here we are, just outside of the throne room. Kai commented inwardly with a nervous expression, as was staring at the throne room's doors with Archibald, before Archibald asked with a curious expression:

"Is something the matter Kai?"

"No, no. Nothing is the matter. Just thinking about... Stuff." Kai answered with a startled expression, as he was feeling more nervous than before, before inwardly psyching himself up:

You can win. You can fight. YOU! CAN! DO! THIS!

*creak*

The moment the door opener up, the two of them were met with the gaze of both king Regis, princess Marianna, Mei, Vale and Jason, as well as a few people that Kai didn't recognize.

"You two are the last to come. Any reason for that?" King Regis asked with a serious expression.

"No reason, your majesty." Archibald answered as he bowed down, as he quickly signaled Kai to do the same as well, before Kai quickly noticing and doing same as well. King Regis stared at the two of them for a couple of moments, before sighing and ordering the two of them to come in.

"Now, since the four heroes are here, including all the members necessary for this, I'll start explaining why I risked and performed this ritual in the first place. As you should know, our Narvonis Empire is currently under the threat of the United Demonic Tribes. At first, we thought that we could handle them, since their major leaders had died a few decades ago, so their armies wouldn't be very strong and with some decent planning and time, we would be able to hold out. Unfortunately, we were naive, as the demons we far more powerful than expected and now, we have been losing our land quickly. In the end, after much deliberation and many failed plans to protect our lands, we decided to call on people from other worlds, in a desperate attempt to fight back the incoming threat."

After King Regis finished his monologue, only then did Kai realize that he has gotten himself into a really troublesome situation. He has to go through a cliche reincarnated hero adventure, with the other 3 people who were summoned with him.

F*cking hell, you can't be serious. Kai cursed inwardly, as he clenched his fist extremely hard and bit on his lower lip, in an attempt to not let his anger show. After trying to calm himself down, he tried to ask, but was beaten to punch by Jason's questions:

"So, you have basically summoned us, in a desperate attempt to drive away the demonic forces? You should know we are only 4 people. In fact, we are way worse in every way possible, than any of the guards in the palace. How do you expect us to fight the demons, when we don't have the ability to even fight anyone who is wearing armor in this room?"

"I figured that someone would ask and the answer to that is simple. Training and using your special weapons." King Regis answered with a calm expression, before continuing:

"People from other worlds usually have some sort weapon inside of them, waiting to be awakened and although there might have been weaponless people in the past, each and every one of them have brought massive progress to the many parts of our empire. So, even if you don't have a weapon of sorts, you still have the ability to help out with your own knowledge and advancements."

After king Regis finished his explanation, Kai decided to not ask anything for now, since Jason asked what he had in his mind and although he wanted to ask for some other stuff as well, he didn't feel like they were important to be answered immediately. After making his thought, Vale then asked with a rather curious expression:

"So, how do we know that we have those special weapons?"

"Just call them out with the word command "Summon". That's all you need to do to summon them for the first time and after that, just imagine the weapons themselves to summon them out, without having to call them out loudly."

Once the answer was given, Vale was the first one to try it out immediately and with an excited expression, he called out:

"Summon!"

After he said that, a thin sword had started to materialize in his right hand and within seconds, the sword had fully materialized. The sword was pretty thin and long, with no sharp edges, aside for its tip, which was pointy, and had wide circular guard and handle with a semi-circular guard that connected from the wide guard, to the bottom of the handle.

"Wait, is that a sword or a rapier?" Kai asked with a shocked expression as he stared at the sword. He wasn't the only shocked person, as Jason also had the same expression as well and Mei also followed with the loudest scream any human could have been able to handle:

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!!!"

"OUCH! MY EARS! STOP!" Kai yelled out as he quickly covered his ears and everyone else in the room did so quickly to avoid having permanent ear damage, although there were a couple of unlucky individuals, whose ears started to bleed a bit. As she was screaming, Kai also realized something he hadn't thought much about it, that being Mei's silence.

Of course it took a few seconds before she stopped screaming and everyone managed to take their hands off from their ears.

"Does anyone have Tinnitus or not?" Kai asked with a pained expression, as he checked on his ears to make sure they weren't bleeding.

"I think I may have it now, especially after hearing that demented scream from hell." Jason answered with an annoyed expression, as checked on his ears as well.

"I don't know what this Tinnitus thing is, but I guess you are referring to some sort of deafness condition, I think I might gotten it, right about now." Marianna answered with a pained expression, as he was afraid to take her hands off her ears.

"Don't be such a crybaby. You have heard a mandragora's scream before and that scream is worse than Mei's scream." Archibald berated with an annoyed expression, as he stared at Marianna, before staring at Mei again and adding:

"Anyways, how can a little girl like her make such a sound?"

"Well, excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, prince." Mei returned with an annoyed expression. After that answer, everyone was left with a dumbfounded expression and Kai couldn't help but think to himself:

What is up with this major tone shift? When did she become from a nervous girl, into the loudest brat I've ever seen?

Of course, he wasn't the only one, since Vale, Jason, Marianna and some of the people around them also had the same, or similar thoughts with Kai's current thoughts.

"Heroes, can you please summons your weapons as well, before we forget about the reason we started this meeting?" King Regis pleaded with a tired expression, as he rubbed his temples to alleviate the headache he was currently experiencing.

After hearing that, Kai and Jason decided to do, while they had the chance, before Mei started doing something and the moment they shouted the word "Summon", Kai's hands were quickly being covered by a cloth like material, before it covers his hands completely, while for Jason, a long haliberd had quickly formed in his hands. After their weapons were summoned, the two of them couldn't help but exclaim at the same time:

"What in the actual f*ck just happened?"
