10 Chapter 10: Encounter in the Library.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the idiotic trio left. Saiki immediately went to the school library with a very simple goal in mind.

'Yesterday was the first day of school so I need to buy necessities. I also need to study the workings of the coffee jelly machine rendering it impossible to go to library'

'I heard that the novel resources there are very rich. I might be able to find some unpopular masterpiece there'

'Although most of the people within this school are abnormal, the resources is quite satisfying. Coming here is indeed the right choice'

When he thought about this, Saiki's mouth couldn't help but curl on its own. After all, for a psychic like him, reading mystery novels is the best feeling.

The most critical aspect of it is the suspense.

Thanks to his telepathy, Saiki could no longer feel surprises. And when it comes to watching movies, he wouldn't be able to enjoy it unless he watched the premiere since most people will naturally think about the movie in their mind.

Therefore, Saiki preferred indulging into entertainment alone. Reading novel alone is also one of them.

Saiki hasten his steps to the library and even though he already came here once when he inspected the whole school, it was just a glimpse. His invisibility has the limit of 10 minutes and that time is not enough to properly check the whole school.

He didn't look at the books inside but he is aware that the library is humungous. He is already starting to imagine what kind of masterpiece he will grab here.

Knowing this, Saiki couldn't help but look forward to it.

He looked around and saw that there are not a lot of people inside. Only a few students from the higher grade probably studying. This is normal since there are a lot of more entertaining things in the school after all, why bother going to a boring library.

'It's nice that there are only a few people. This is the best'

For Saiki, this is undoubtedly a good thing. He swiftly moved his feet and used his perception to look for the mystery section.

During this time, Saiki heard a faint voice in his mind.

[Not enough… I can't reach it]

Saiki walked to the bookshelf where the mystery novels were located and there he found a girl with long silver hair.

She is not tall and has two lavender eyes on her pretty face. Her slender legs were wrapped in a knee-high socks.

The girl was standing on tiptoe trying to get a certain book that is in the upper shelf. But due to her short stature, she could not reach it less even touching the book. It is impossible for her to take it.

'She can't reach it because of her height? Sadly it is none of my concern, I am not the type to help everyone in need'

Saiki thought on his heart.

[The man might be able to reach it but… I am too embarrassed to speak…]

[I don't know how to properly communicate with others… although the school just started two days ago, I still could not make a proper friend]

[What should I do… should I talk to him? Did he come to this shelf because he is interested in mystery novels…?]

The girl tilted her head slightly as she thought a lot of things. She kept glancing at Saiki with face full of hesitation.

And when the girl is in the midst of contemplating, the book that she was reaching to seemed to shake twice before falling down.

"How?"

The girl was surprised and quickly caught the book. It appears that her effort were rewarded as the book jumped directly into her hands.

Of course none of that were luck. Saiki just used his telekinesis to slightly move the book making it drop.

Saiki clearly heard the girl's thought about wanting to read the book, he also discovered her name in the same way.

Shiina Hiyori, a member of first year Class C.

'Let me help you a little. This will save both of us some trouble'

Saiki muttered to himself then moved his gaze to the bookshelf. He began to search for novels that are in his taste.

If a student borrow a book to read, he just need to return it within the specified time so that his points will not be needlessly deducted.

His eyes swept over the rows of novels. He read a lot of mystery novels before however he still tried to read some famous ones. It being famous means that he encountered a lot of spoilers forcing him to change his preference. He now wanted to read unpopular ones to avoid such problem.

While unpopular novels are not of high quality and some plots can be even regarded as outrageous, it is still a better choice for Saiki. If he can find one with better plots then it would be a treasure.

Saiki's eyes fell on one of the books. He had never heard of this book before so he stretched his hand and was about to take it.

[Oh, its 'Kill Yourself' by Simons. Did he actually pick this book? Even though killing himself was used as a gimmick at first, at later…]

And just when his finger was about to make contact with the book, Shiina Hiyori could not help but recall the major plot of the entire book.

'...'

Saiki's face immediately contorted into frown.

He deliberately chose a novel that appears unpopular, he just didn't expect that the timid-looking girl next to him has already read it.

'Maybe this is actually a famous book, let's search for another one'

He moved his finger and was about to take another book.

[This book? The plot of it was very interesting. He will never expect that the protagonist is actually the murdered…]

[Did he change his mind? This one is intriguing too, the doctor forged an alibi…]

[Although the quality of this book is average, the suspense setting is nice especially…]
