2 Chapter 2 The unpleasant guy

"Ci~"

As the door closed, the bus drove away slowly. Fang Li picked up his schoolbag and walked over from the station. He lifted his head and gazed at the school in front of him. It was an enormous area that seemed to be designated as a school district, surrounded by a high wall. The school was facing the door where Fang Li stood, and it had a majestic gate made of natural rock.

Boys and girls dressed in school uniforms passed by Fang Li's side, entering through the leafy gate. Fang Li stopped at the door and observed the scene.

"Is this Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School?" he wondered.

"Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School," he read on the sign. It was commonly referred to as Advanced Nurturing High School. This was a school established by the government to cultivate young people who would shape the future. It was also a special school in the country.

It was said that the employment rate of the students who attended this school was astonishingly high at 100%, and 99.9% of them could work in their desired field and achieve their desired future.

Furthermore, the school boasts the latest equipment and offers monthly expenses for living, eliminating tuition and lodging fees. The school ethos is extremely liberal, catering exclusively to high school students. It's like a dream school, with treatment superior enough to warrant suspicions of its very existence.

"If not for the written test and interview to filter out a large number of prospective students, it would be highly questionable," Fang Li thought.

Despite the examinations and interviews, the school's exceptional conditions are so impressive that they arouse suspicion.

Nevertheless, there are rarely rumors about the school's reputation outside, except that it is a well-endowed school that attracts envy and attention.

However, only 160 students are able to pass the written test and interview. Fang Li is one of the fortunate ones.

All the students wearing the same uniform as Fang Li were attending the school, moving in after another.

Only one person stopped beside Fang Li - Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. "We seem to be in the same grade," he said, not sounding particularly enthusiastic. Fang Li shrugged, not bothering to look back at him.

Just then, a voice interrupted them. "I have a question for you." The voice was polite but had a sharp and aggressive tone.

Fang Li and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka stopped and turned around to see a beautiful girl with long black hair, who had been reading a book in the bus.

She walked over to them with grace and poise, addressing Fang Li first before turning her attention to Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. "Why didn't you give the old woman your seat? What's the reason?" she asked.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka hesitated for a moment before replying, "I didn't want to draw too much attention."

It was a bizarre answer, but the girl seemed to understand. In the crowded train, everyone had ignored the old woman. But when one person suddenly gave up their seat, all eyes were on them.

Fang Li knew this well from his own experience, as he had garnered stares when he offered his seat to the old woman. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's answer made him seem even more aloof and unapproachable.

"So that's how it is," the young girl said in a cold tone. She evaluated, "Are you escaping the world of ideology? You're really a coward."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka narrowed his eyes and responded, "don't you think you are saying too much to the person you met for the first time. And you also didn't give up the seat right?"

"Don't compare me to you," the girl retorted immediately. "I only didn't give up because I didn't think it was meaningful."

"Do you?" Ayanokouji Kiyotaka said in a voice devoid of emotion. "It seems more like an idea to dodge?"

However, the young woman's attitude did not change in the face of this argument.

"I just acted according to my own beliefs," she said. "It is not the same as a person who is merely a coward."

After that, the girl looked back at Fang Li.

"Are you acting like a good person?" the girl asked impolitely. "If so, giving up your seat will only result in gaining goodwill and attention, with no other advantages. Is that why you gave up your seat?"

Obviously, the young girl was not interested in the so-called "goodwill and attention." She even thought it was useless. Only in this way, by using someone else's body, does it feel like condemning others as superficial characters in order to gain the goodwill of the people around you. It's quite ironic.

Of course, the girl did not seem to have this idea. She was only objectively analyzing the results.

But if this girl has this personality, it's estimated that she'll be like Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. After joining the school, it would be impossible for her to make any friends.

Fang Li found this amusing and laughed out loud.

This made the girl wrinkle her beautiful brow.

"Why are you laughing?" the young girl asked aggressively.

Fang Li gave only one reply.

"It was just a seat. What belief did it actually reveal? Are you too bored to run to ask for reasons?"

Fang Li returned this sentence.

"If you have that kind of energy, use it to study."

After that, he ignored the reaction of the two people and walked towards the school gate. Only the young girl stood in place with Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka seemed to understand Fang Li's perspective.

"For him, there is no difference between standing and sitting. It is even more unnecessary to take this incident to heart. He just did it."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka understood it this way.

To win the goodwill and attention of those around you?

That kind of thing is not even worth considering.

This is what Fang Li wants to express.

As Fang Li walked towards the school gate, the young girl, Horikita Suzune, watched his back and muttered, "He's a really unpleasant guy."

It was their first encounter, and that was the impression she had formed.

After a while, Horikita Suzune strode into the school, ignoring Ayanokouji Kiyotaka who was left scratching his head.

"It's always so difficult to have normal conversations and exchanges with others," he sighed before finally making his way to the school gate and entering the campus.
