Mayday

Up in Washington DC, the president and the secretary of defense were discussing the damage results of a nuclear blast.

"The missile seemed to miss us by only a few hundred miles," SED Said. "But, what happened to everyone else who got hit?" The president asked. "We don't know, and I'm not sure we have enough military who's willing to go and find out," SED pointed out.

"I have two in mind that may be able to help," The President picked up a phone, and dialed his wife. "Honey, get me agents Adler and Madriz," he ordered.

In a small apartment not too far from the capital building, two people were playing video games, living the dream.

"Oh, bullshit, I had you!!" One shouted.

"Keep talking, Guillermo, all it did was get you killed," the other bragged. "I'm going to grab a drink, you want anything?" Guillermo asked.

"No, I'm good," the guy said. While Guillermo went into the kitchen, a knock came at the door.

"That must be the pizza," the other said. The other guy went to answer it. He opened the door, expecting a pizza, but was greeted by a lady who was all too familiar. "Mrs. Obama?" He asked.

"Hello agent Adler," she said.

"I've told you a million times, call me Greg," he said.

"Well then, Greg, may I come in?" She asked.

"Of course," Greg invited her in, and sat down. "Guillermo, get out here!" Greg called. Guillermo walked out with a Gatorade, and saw Greg with the first lady.

"Mrs. Obama," Guillermo gasped.

"Hi Guillermo, good to see you again," she smiled. Guillermo walked over to his chair.

"So, what's going on?" Greg asked. "I'm afraid that a nuclear missile has hit Florida," She said. "It looks like some of the cities are intact, but, we're not sure," she explained.

"Do you know who launched it?" Greg asked.

"Our systems say that Russia launched it, but, it seems too fishy," Mrs. Obama said. "If Russia wanted to attack us, why just the southeast coast?" They sat and thought for a minute. "That's not important right now, what we need is for someone to investigate it," she said.

"And you want us to investigate?" Guillermo asked.

Mrs. Obama nodded.

"Mrs. Obama, with all due respect, isn't this something that the military is meant for?" Greg asked. "Why drag us into it?"

Mrs. Obama sighed. "I'm afraid we don't have enough military personnel that are willing to go."

Greg and Guillermo walked into another room.

"I think we should take it," Guillermo said.

"Guillermo, we're talking about a nuclear explosion, this is huge," Greg said.

"We've done worse jobs, besides, our friends are there," Guillermo argued. "Guillermo, are you thinking about the job, or are you thinking about her?" Greg asked.

Guillermo fell silent, he hadn't seen his girlfriend since he got the job in DC.

"You don't know if she's alive or not," Greg said.

"I have to see if she is, I have to," Guillermo said.

Greg had no room to talk, his girlfriend, would've been fiancee, was in Florida. He hadn't seen her since she moved from Alabama, after that, he had to leave. They go back out to where the First Lady is.

"Okay, we'll go," Greg said. Mrs. Obama smiled.

"Thank you both," she said. She handed them a folder with all the info they could gather. "You leave in a few hours, get ready," she said, as she left. Greg turned off the TV and their video games.

"Do you think both of them are alive?" Guillermo asked. Greg wasn't sure, he knew how a nuclear missile acted. If they didn't die in the explosion, then the radiation would have killed them depending on how close they were.

"I don't know, I want to think that they are, but, I just don't know," Greg said. Greg went to change into his work clothes. Guillermo did as well. They walked out and saw what both of them were wearing.

"You look like Jake from Resident Evil 6," Greg said.

"And you look like Leon," Guillermo said.

Two hours pass, and both Greg and Guillermo are asleep on the couch. The alarm went off, Greg woke up, and nearly shit bricks.

"Guillermo, wake up!!" Greg shouted. He shot up. "We need to go!" Greg sprinted out, Guillermo followed. "Why did we fall asleep?" Guillermo asked.

"You tell me, I have no idea," Greg said. They got in their vehicle, and drove to their location, The White House.

They made it within an hour, and ran into the office.

"Ahh, you've arrived," someone said. "Mr. President, I'm so sorry we're late," Greg said.

"That's quite alright," he said. "Come, we need to get you moving." They leave for the helipad.

"So, what exactly do you know?" Guillermo asked.

"All we know is the missile explosion, where it was, and where the most radiation was," The President said. "Where was it?" Greg asked.

"The missile exploded in on the Florida-Georgia border," He said. "The radiation barely missed us."

Greg thought for a moment. "The towns that got the most radiation would be all the northern cities, the rest would have gotten the after effects," Greg said. They arrived on the helipad.

"We don't know entirely, we need you to find out," The President said. "We will, Sir!!" Guillermo shouted. "Good luck, agents!" The President said. Greg and Guillermo get in the helicopter, and head off to Florida.

Some time passed, and the two agents look around to see where they are. They see the city around them almost burnt down. Everything is in pieces. "Who in their right mind would do this?" Guillermo asked, not expecting an answer. "I don't know, the only thing I could say is-" The next thing they know, the helicopter is falling out of the sky. An RPG had hit the rear rotor, and it started spinning. All that could be heard was the pilot screaming. "MAYDAY, MAYDAY." That's all that was heard, until they crashed into a pond.

After the crash, Greg and Guillermo swam out of the pond; they barely have any energy to even move. They got to shore and darted for the forest nearby. After they got far in enough, they collapsed onto the ground. "What the fuck, who has an RPG?!" Greg shouted softly.

"I don't know, I didn't think there were any survivors," Guillermo whispered.

"Well, whoever they are, they certainly aren't friendly," Greg said. "Yeah, but, we should just stay here for now," Guillermo panted.

"Agreed, we need some rest," Greg said, gasping for air.
