Introduction

In the year 2023, Scientist Parker and Doctor Fisher is working on a new project called Circa 1950. The plan is to send a man in the year 1950 to test what exactly are the changes that will happen if a time traveler move a little detail. The current building that they are in are butterfly effect proof which in that case, they'll be able to record and to observe the world without being part of the experiment. Scientist Parker planned the whole thing with the help of the Psychologist, Dr. Gerard Fisher. They put posters and flyers everywhere across the city which states a better way of coping with pain and grief in this timeline. As we all know, pain is not good for our mind as it gives us trouble thinking straight and sometimes, it can also lead to a death. To gather more people for the experiment, they use that marketing to trick people into joining and one of them is Nicholas Dawson.

Nicholas Dawson is an average looking man with muscular body. He currently lost her mother due to cancer and he is still grieving from her death which causes him to drink everyday of his life until he came across the flyer in one of the village's post. It came to his senses that it's probably a therapy and he really need one. He tore the paper at the post and brought it home with him, planning to call the number. He was hesitant at first giving the circumstances of his life but he thought to himself, "it's now or never." he never really got along with his mother and he was hoping that before she die, he'll get to open up his childhood traumas to her mother and was also hoping to hear the words I'm sorry but before he could, his mother passed away. He feels really bad that he still hates his mother for not saying those two words but at some point he hates himself for not opening up sooner.

He looked at the photo at his night stand. It was him and his mother on a beach with his younger siblings. They look like they were happy but after the photo was taken, it was the same day his parents got divorce due to her dad's financial irresponsibility and ever since that day, he kept that photo with him especially when he finally got the courage to leave his mother's house. He really don't want to leave his siblings behind but he can't also take them with him. That guilt from not bringing his siblings with him ate him for like remaining existence. On the other hand, his siblings didn't hold any grudges. As a matter of fact, the phone rang and Nicholas quickly got up as he went to the home's telephone.

"Who's this?" He said as soon as he answered the phone. The voice from the other line seems like tearing up and sobbing.

"Nick? Is this you?" A voice of a female was heard together with a sound of sobbing. He was confused who the person was.

"Who are you? Why do you know my nickname?" He asked more confused and threatening this time.

"I'm your sister... Nikki. The youngest if you still remember." The voice is now more calm and assuring. Nicholas was stunned for a second as the tears fell from his cheeks.

"Nikki? I- I haven't heard from you since... you were 5. I'm surprised you still remembered me." Nicholas said in a soft voice.

"I have a lot of questions about you... I want to know you better..." Nikki said which caused Nicholas to go in sobbing mode. He can barely said anything because he was tearing up and the thoughts in his head was swiped away in just a matter of seconds.

"Meet me at the mall. I'll be there tomorrow at around 10 am." Nicholas said as he cut the call. He looked at the mirror as he splashed a bit of water in his face. As he looked up and directly looked on the mirror, there he is. The 16 years old version of himself filled with bruised and cuts caused by his father's beating. He teared up but he once splashed a water on his face and this time, he left and went to bed.

A lot of hours passed but he is still stuck reminiscing about his past life with his family. Being able to contact his sister, it opened up some of his unresolved traumas that he doesn't want to remember. No matter how much he run away from his past, it will always find him. It will haunt him.

He spent his midnight tossing around his bed not being able to sleep. He managed to get up and sat on his working desk thinking he can use that inspiration for a new art design for their company's campaign. He started to draw the outline of what seems to be a teenage face.. it took him a minute as he went to doing the sketches adding more details to it. He stare at the drawing for a while, it's Noah. His second younger brother. He thought about him all of a sudden, the day he left was also the day Noah probably had to take care of his siblings. If he really seal the deal with his youngest sister, he'll soon meet his siblings too...

He continued his work and he didn't even manage to notice the time. Before he know it, the sun rose up and it's time for work. He got up from his chair as he went straight to bathroom. He took a shower and wore his work clothes. As he went to his car, the lady greeted him.

"What a fun morning! Oh you're off to work? You're early today." Diana said. He didn't even took a glance at the lady as he went straightly inside the car and drove off.

"Nicholas ignored you once again. What a fun morning for me." Kyle said chuckling and he earned a slapped from Diana as she went upstairs to her apartment.

Nicholas went inside and he was greeted by his boss' secretary, Star.

"Mr. Stanley said that you should come to his office immediately. He needs to talk to you about something." She said and was about to walk away.

"Star.. I want to talk to you please just give me a chance to explain." He said but Star didn't even hesitate to walk away from him. He sighed as he walked towards the elevator pressing the 5th floor button. He's inside the elevator but before the door closes, Star went inside the elevator pressing the 5th button as well. She didn't bother to look at him.

"Star, please just talk to me! You can't be mad at me right now please." He said begging her to listen to him.

"Nick, we both know that now is not the right time. I already told you that." Star said without emotion.

"I love you dearly, Star. I love you even though you can't feel anything towards me." He said while trying to stop his tears from falling.

"Who said that I didn't love you? I love you Nicholas but Diana love you more than I can ever love you." Star replied still not showing any emotions.

"Star, I want you and only you. Diana was just part of my life, a childhood friend. I don't feel anything towards her. I hope you'll realized that one day." He said as the door opened leading them to go out inside the elevator but Nicholas walked out first. She can really be a pain in his life but she's also the love of her life.
