Moonlight

On a sunny morning, I descend the stair and try to forget about my nightmare. And thought to myself that this reality and dreams are just dreams.

"Good morning sis Beatrice and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" the children said, with a smile on their faces.

"Sis Beatrice we wanted a cake please…" Anna said, with a twinkling in her eyes, which looks like a star shone in the clear night sky. Anna is4 years old she was a baby when we found her. She has brunette straight hair a little small for her age but full of sweetness in her personality. She's the crybaby and also the youngest among the children in the orphanage.

"Cake for breakfast, that's quite interesting, well it's my birthdays so I will grant your wish," I said trying to convince them and not to show any disappointment. Well the cake for breakfast is rather too much, and we don't have the ingredients to make them and it's quite expensive.

" Yehey! I wish that we always have cake for breakfast every day." Sam said with happiness in his face. Sam is the second youngest among the children in the orphanage. He's 6 years old, a boy who has lots of braveness and often the one who teases others despite him being the second youngest.

"That's not going to happen, today is just an exception," I said trying to sound like I was joking.

"Sis Beatrice you just destroyed my dreams," Sam said with a sadness in his face.

"Okay I'm sorry about that," I said in a soft voice.

"Beatrice, go easy on them," Sister Kate said.

"Okay, sister."

"I think we have one problem and that is we're out of ingredients, Beatrice." Sister Kate told me.

"I will buy the ingredients so wait for me. I will run some errands."

"We will wait for your safe return with the ingredients, soldier," Sam said with a salute and a big smile in his face. A smile that will show that he's still very young, full of dreams and hope. He wanted to be a soldier to protect the orphanage and he often watches them when they were training near our place.

"Rest assure I will do my mission, for now, goodbye," I said with a salute.

"Hahaha take care Beatrice doesn't take for too long, your ladies and gentlemen are starving and I bet they won't survive long" Sister Kate said.

"I will be off then," I said.

The gaze of the sun is as beautiful as it nourishes the land and the plants that await its blessing for them to survive.

"What a nice morning I bet this day is great for celebrating my birthday with all the children in the orphanage," I said while gazing in the sky.

At the convenient store. It took almost half an hour for me to gather the ingredients. I have to buy the most high-quality ingredient and also cheap.

"Thank you very much," the cashier said with a smile in her face to satisfy the customer.

I brought all the ingredients I have to get back, I bet they are starving.

As I was trying to go home I bump into a man in black clothing. He is taller than me, black hair and black eyes, to fully describe him he's a piercing beauty. But one thing that is very alluring about is his eyes. It's like of crimson fire, that is once told in the legend, the one given by the dragons as it constantly spreading and emit a light that illuminates the land it conquered.

"I'm sorry if you excuse me," I said with a soft voice as I try to have my way and eyes on the road.

As I was trying to get away, he suddenly grabs my wrist.

Being held by a stranger will give everyone goosebumps but somehow it feels familiar until I can feel that his hand is so cold, like those corpse on the cemetery or even in the morgue.

The first thing I thought wait did you fall in love with me? Well, I don't know why my silly brain would think about it in this kind of situation that just proves that I'm too easy going.

"What is it?" I said with a smile on my face.

I don't want to leave the impression that I'm a very fragile girl in front of a handsome man while smiling, I need to hide my annoyance. And as I try to wait for his response I observe that he's staring at me with most keen interest. I know I'm pretty but I'm not used to being stared at.

"You have to come with me. It's an urgent matter." He said with a seriousness in his face.

I take it back he's handsome but he gives me creep when he said that to me, it's broad daylight and you wanted to kidnap a young youthful beautiful me.

"I'm sorry mister but I have to go," I said trying to lose the grip he had in my wrist. This is the time I was held by such a strong grip I have to get away quickly and in the first place why did I start a conversation to a stranger? Did Sister Kath warn me not to? I want to slap myself, I let my guard down because of his look. Well who wouldn't be distracted to beautiful things, he is the most beautiful creature I witness in my 15 and soon to be 16 years of existence. I think I overact when I describe him, it's just that no word can describe this flower boy.

To wake me up from my thought the man tightens his grip.

"Your life is in danger." He said in his cold voice.

Whoah, what a cold voice I can feel the chills. This is the moment I feel something is wrong, I only thought I have to get away before he can kidnap me.

"In danger? What do you mean?" I said with curiosity as I try to loosen his grip.

"Seven hunters will hunt you down. We have to make haste, time is constantly moving." He said and I realize that he's now pulling me.

"Seven hunters? I don't know them, what do you mean by that, and I have to go." I said as I push him because I felt that he will take me somewhere.

"They will come to you tonight, under the moonlight. There is no time to explain everything, you have to come with me." He said, his face is now to close to mine. I can see the full detail of his face smooth white skin, pointed nose, pinkish cheeks, red lips long eyelashes and eyes that can succumb to every woman. Wait why I am staring at him I thought. I have a much more urgent matter to do now. And that is to escape from this situation.

"What do they want from me?" I asked, trying to grab an opportunity to escape from him.

"They want your heart." He said trying to say it in a soft voice that quickly erases the coldness in the surrounding but instead, a warn feeling can be felt. I suddenly realize that his voice very familiar. A voice that has been long forgotten buried deep in my memory.

"My heart?" I asked.

"Your heart is the key to unleash an overwhelming power that can destroy this land." He said trying to sound convincing.

"I'm sorry but I don't want to involve myself to you, I have people waiting for me," I said, I don't want to have this conversation it's quite frightening and unreal.

"Remember this, they will hunt you."

"Because you are their prey."

"And do you think that I will believe you, I only meet you now and you're dragging me to go somewhere and then told me about this seven hunter. And come on, its 21st century there's no such thing as what you said." I remarked with a glare in my eyes.

"I think I will likely be in danger if I talk to you. And besides Sis often told me not to talk to a stranger, but due to our current events, I don't have a choice but to talk to you. And if you don't loosen the grip in my hand I will call for the police." I said.

To my surprise he loosens the grip in my hand, I thought I could use some of the martial arts Sis Kate thought me. What a shame. But for now, I need to run as far as I can, to a crowded area so that I can call for help if anything happens that is beyond my control.

"Excuse then, I have to go," I said as I run as fast as I can to lose him.

"Beatrice, what took you so long?" Sister Kate asked.

"I meet a gorgeous man sister, I will marry him if he's not crazy," I said.

"Ohh, is that so?" she said.

"He just suddenly told me about this kind of supernatural thing, as if they exist," I said, with a chuckle in my voice.

"I have to prepare the cake, I bet the kids are starving," I said trying not to show my anxiousness.

"They are, to the point that they fell asleep" Sister Kate said with a kind voice.

"Sister, I wanted to ask you something?" I said.

"What is it?" She said.

"Can you look at the calendar if its full moon tonight?" I asked.

"There is a full moon tonight I've also heard it on the radio, why?" She said now with worriedness in her face.

"It's nothing sister," I said with a smile.

Can I believe that man? Well, who will hunt me by the way, I'm just an ordinary orphan girl, I don't have any special features.

"For now, I have to focus on making this cake."
