1 Prologue

War was raging. There were battles as far the eyes could see. There was blood and dead bodies everywhere. Darkness was starting to swallow everything.

"It's the end of the world." muttered a young woman with silver hair. "Everything we've fought for is useless."

"It's no time to give up." said a voice.

An older man whisked her away and dragged her somewhere. Behind them were the young woman's familiars a fox cub and a wolf pup.

"Grandfather! Where are we going?"

"Somewhere safe."

The two reached a cave in the mountains. They traversed the dark place and went deeper. They reached a big cavern where a circular transparent object was sitting in the middle.

"Grandfather! What is this place?"

"Granddaughter, I am very sorry." the young woman was bewildered at her grandfather's words. "All your life I let you go through hardship. I forced you to take the path I made for you."

"Grand-"

He hugged her close.

"I was afraid to lose you, so I made you go through all that. But it's too late. Everything is ending."

"Grandfather-"

"But you have to survive."

The older man dragged her to the circular object and let her sit inside it. Her two familiars climbed aboard as well.

"When you wake up, you will be in another world. Find the Ruler of Relics."

"The Ruler? Isn't he the person who can command all relics?"

"He can also create one."

"But I thought only gods can do that?"

"The gods smiled upon him. He is special. You must find him."

"And bring him back here?"

"No my child. It is too late for our world. The wardens have overrun it and the gods have decided to cleanse it. But you don't have to perish with us."

"But-"

"Find him. Protect him. And don't let what happened to our world, happen to his. Fulfill your duties as the Keeper."

"Grandfather..."

"Don't worry. You are not alone. The other great families have their own ways and have also sent guardians to aid you."

"I can't leave you alone."

"You have to. It's time for you to pave your own path." he smiled. "My lovely child, I am always proud of you."

"Grandfather..."

The older man stepped out of the circular device and closed it, entrapping his granddaughter inside. She pleaded, but he could not hear it. He started muttering words and the device started glowing. Ice slowly encased it and everything inside it froze.

"I am very sorry... But I hope in the world you will arrive on, you will survive and live the life that you want."

The cave started rumbling and he immediately ran outside. When he saw light started raining from the heavens, he knew that it has started.

"Man's final stand." he muttered.

Everything glowed brightly and then nothing...
