Chapter 70: Remember
Luke ran his fingers though her hair and they both let out a soft sigh.
Johanna snuggled more into his chest, her fingertips gently stroking his shoulder. "Remind me why you have to go again," she murmured, tickling his skin with her lips.
He chuckled. "Because, my dear, sweet sunflower, you're a vampire now, and The Council likes to keep track of newly turned vampires."
She hummed. "That sounds like something that could be easily taken care of with a phone call."
Luke let out a bark of laughter and held her closer to him. "Is this your way of saying you'll miss me?"
Johanna's lips curved into a smile against his neck before she lifted her head and kissed him sweetly. "No, that's my way of saying I'll miss you." She ran her fingers through his hair, tousling it. "Why do you have to go, really?"
