22 Ch. 22 - Blasted off

A few days earlier, Jin and the Furious Six were on the boat, rowing theirselves towards the other side of the continent which is where the Gongmen City resides.

"Jin, I know you're in a hurry or something, but I think you're exhausting yourself out. Besides, the boat can move on its own, we'll surely be there in time." Tigress worriedly said to Jin, who was madly rowing the boat.

"That's where you are wrong, my little kitty." Jin smiled and teased her as Tigress 'angrily' glared at him.

"Don't call me that!"

"Oh, my dear kitty. I know you like it." Jin said with a mischievous grin on his face.

Seeing that Tigress was about to explode again, Jin chuckled in amusement before continuing.

"Alright..I'm sorry for teasing you. I'm not actually in a hurry or anything it's just that, I'm excited to visit Gongmen City! After all, it is known as the city of joy and happiness where fireworks were invented!" Actually, Jin's teasing earlier was just for him to have some time to think of a valid reason for his hurry. It's not like he could just tell them 'I know the future and I want to defeat Shen as soon as possible so he won't be able to make more cannons which would be very troublesome.' right?

"Yeah, right." Squinting her eyes at Jin suspiciously, Tigress turned around and left to rest.

'I swear she's suspicious of me. As expected of a master, their senses are so sharp that they could almost know if someone like me is lying.' Jin said to himself. Obviously, as an actor in his past life, Jin naturally has the capability of lying with a straight face.

And just like that, a few days have passed and their boat has finally docked inside the dockings in Gongmen City.

As they walk past the citizens, they could hear their murmurs and whispers.

"I heard the banished prince Shen returned earlier! My friend told me about it!"

"Really? I hope the Master Council won't give him our city, I don't want to have a tyrant as a leader."

When Jin heard this, he immediately went on a sprint, leaving the Furious Six in the dust.

Of course, Tigress and the rest also heard the whispers, so they already know the reason for Jin's sudden rush.

Without idling by, they also started running and followed the path Jin took until they arrived at an enormous tower surrounded by walls and guards wearing armor.

Shen raised his eyebrow as he panicked inside. Of course, he also knew the weakness of the cannon! However, it's impossible for someone to persecute this weakness. After all, the only weakness of a cannon is by dodging the metal ball that it spits. Sounds easy but impossible because of the incredible speed of the cannon ball.

'It might be impossible to the others but he's the Dragon Warrior, perhaps his reflexes will allow him to dodge my cannon.' Shen eyed Jin warily as he started formulating a new plan inside his head. Obviously, escaping is not an option unless he defeats everyone here.

Suddenly, Shen's eyes darted towards Tigress. With that, a plan suddenly formulated inside his mind.

"Hehehe. Alright then, you win, Dragon Warrior. You are right, dodging the cannon ball is the cannon's weakness and I'm sure you can evade it just fine, right?" Seeing that Shen seems to have lost his mind, a bad premonition suddenly appeared inside Jin's mind.

'No, Shen won't just back down this easily. He must've made a plan. I need to be cautious.' All of Jin's muscles tense up as he tries to analyze Shen's plan.

The only thing he came up with is that Shen must have been planning on ambushing him by another cannon hidden somewhere around. After all, he can't dodge something that he's not expecting.

"Since you can evade it. How about her then?" Just as Shen pointed at Tigress and just when Jin finally realized Shen's plan, Jin immediately went back running towards Tigress.

Since Tigress is closer to him than the cannon, Jin has no choice but to run to her to save her.

"Tigress!"

"Fire!" As soon as Shen yelled those words, the cannon was lit up and thankfully, it gave Jin enough time to close the distance between him and Tigress.

*Boom!*

Hearing the booming sound, Jin didn't hesitate to push Tigress away, replacing her position as the cannon ball arrived in front of him.

In Jin's vision, everything slowed down as he watched how the cannon ball spun and charged towards him.

Jin could only utter one word inside his mind.

'Fuck me!'

*Boom!*

In just a split of a second, the cannon ball collided with Jin's body, throwing in the air and dragging him outside the Gongmen City at fast speeds.

"Jin!" Unfortunately, it was already too late for the Furious Six to react as everything that happened was too fast for them to react and before they knew it, Jin had already disappeared from his position, replaced by a scorched mark on the ground.

"It worked! Huehaha! So much for a so-called Dragon Warrior, he can't even handle my dragon!" Shen laughed madly as he patted the head of a dragon that is sculpted on the cannon.

"No...." Tigress muttered in shock and fear as she realized that she was saved by Jin.

"Master..." Po panicked the realization that Jin was defeated hit him in the head.

"Impossible." Even Master Rhino was shocked and he didn't even see how the cannon ball struck Jin. He could only see a blur along with Jin rushing towards Tigress.

Though at the same time, he was amazed by Jin's feat of being able to save Tigress from such a fast projectile.

"And the entire Kung-Fu era will end with him! Does anyone else want to have a taste?" Realizing that they have lost their spirits and will, Shen chuckled loudly before confidently announcing out loud.

The Furious Five and the Master Council looked at one another. They knew that if one of them resists, they could only meet the same fate as the Dragon Warrior.

However, Tigress was different from them. Her bloodshot eyes are staring directly at Shen, threatening to tear him into pieces.

"I'll kill you, Shen!" With a loud war cry, Tigress immediately rushed towards Shen, however the Furious Six was fast to react and managed to stop Tigress from acting impulsively, lest she kills himself.

"Release me, I'll avenge Jin!" Tigress growled at them.

"You can't avenge him if you're delivering yourself to death, Tigress. Let's surrender for now and send an emergency message to Master Shifu." Crane said to Tigress as she calmed down a bit, however her glare on Shen was still the same.

"Crane, do you think you can escape here?" Tigress whispered back to Crane, as Crane contemplated for a bit before answering.

"I think I can but those wolves would surely bring me trouble. Not to mention, that weapon." Crane answered her question as he pointed at the wolves who were holding bows.

"Don't worry, we'll handle them. Just go and escape." Tigress said, much to everyone's shock.

"What? Tigress, have you gone crazy?! Shen would surely kill us with that cannon!" Mantis panicked and said.

"No he won't. If he wanted us dead, he would've killed us at the start but he didn't. So, that means he has a plan for us." Tigress while eyeing Shen who was busy commanding his army to surround them and enter the tower.

"You're right." Crane also noticed and agreed on what she said.

"I still think this is a crazy plan but oh well, what else can I do?" Mantis shrugged his shoulders as Tigress finally gave her signal.

"Crane, now!" With that, Crane immediately took up in the air, much to everyone's shock.

"Fire at him!" Shen ordered, which the wolves quickly aimed at Crane who was in the air.

However, the masters quickly swooped in and took them down as fast as they could, allowing Crane to fly smoothly out of their range.

"You!!" Shen quickly ordered to point the cannon towards the masters, threatening to shoot them down.

"We surrender." At the same time, they surrendered before offering their hands to be handcuffed.

"Oh, I see... So this is your plan? Call your master to save you? Alright, I'll allow it, after all, killing the greatest teacher in China will also serve as one of my greatest achievements! Let that old man send himself to death here." Shen laughed out loud.

And just like that, the masters were swiftly taken to their prisons.
