Training

It was morning when Diedrich woke up. The first thing he decided to do was head to the origin to summon new citizens. A few of the villagers who were also awake were curious and followed Diedrich to the origin where he summoned 7 people: 4 males and 3 females.

After giving them a similar speech as yesterday which was again basically saying if you don't want to listen then f*ck off, making everyone again decide to stay in the village. Of the seven summoned only two were rank one and it was two males. Diedrich had them try the warrior stele and they both got the class Nature's spear infantry, raising the number of spearmen in the village to five.

As for what he was going to do with them, he was going to train them today, or at least a few of them. Diedrich had decided to let three of them come with him today as he hunted for beasts, while the other 2 would stay and defend the village.

The others would be doing tasks around the village today such as getting water from the lake, further cutting the Euterpe Precatoria logs into sizes Diedrich could manipulate, cutting the tree's surrounding the village, and watering the sapling of life.

Diedrich realised that they would have to make defences and other structures such as housing and bathrooms eventually, however with the limited numbers they had, it would be too difficult to accomplish, so for now, nature would have to do.

Now that they had jobs to do, Diedrich took Alex, Karla, Hans, and Ilsa with him, Diedrich had decided to bring Ilsa because she was a rank two and would likely gain more stats from every level up and would become stronger even if she wasn't a warrior.

Diedrich took a few spears from the storage facility, as only Alex and Karla had uncommon grade spears. They then started to patrol the surrounding area to see if there were any dangers or resources.

Five kilometers away from the village the troop finally heard their first signs of life, and after five minutes suddenly, some tall grasses shook as a weasel that was a little bit bigger than a dog appeared. It had mossy green fur and was not cute like most weasels. Instead, it looked quite ugly, and there was a savage and vicious look in its eyes.

Diedrich told the others to hide. Although Diedrich hadn't encountered this creature yet, it didn't look too tough however with its naturally elongated slim body it would be more difficult to hit with a spear.

"Okay, so this is the plan I will let the treant fight it and while it's distracted you guys surround it, and when I yell go, you guys attack the creature alright", Diedrich whispered to them.

Seeing worry apparent on some of their faces especially Ilsa who had no class and this being her first ever battle making her slightly freak out, Diedrich decided to comfort and motivate them by saying "Don't worry if any of you are in danger I will step in, also whoever performs the best in this battle will be allowed to absorb the soul core, which will guarantee a level up making you stronger".

Seeing them calm down, and even excitement in Alex and Karla's eyes, Diedrich told his treant to attack.

As the treant suddenly rushed out of the bushes towards the weasel similar in size to it, although probably a lot heavier it started to hiss in a threatening tone.

The weasel opened its mouth and Diedrich could see green elemental essence gathering forming a wooden dart. Following this, it flicked its head upwards as the dart rushed towards the treant impacting its shoulder, dislodging it from the rest of its body.

Diedrich's eyes widened, as this was the first time he saw a creature use elemental projectiles and from the speed of it, it could probably even penetrate his skin.

The treant however acted as if it had not just lost an arm and continued sprinting at the creature as they became entangled in a fight, although you couldn't call it much of a fight as the weasel immediately overpowered it being much stronger than the level 1 treant.

As the weasel bit into the treant contrary to feeling aghast at his puppet's one sided beating Diedrich was excited as he could finally try the treants skill, a liquid suddenly appeared over the treants body, and with the weasel biting into it, the weasel got a full dose of the sleep-inducing poison.

At this moment Diedrich yelled, "Go".

From the bushes surrounding the weasel and treant four screaming humans jumped out and ran towards the weasel.

Seeing the danger the weasel ended the prey it was toying with and bit through the treant's neck making the connection Diedrich felt towards it break.

The weasel then prepared another wooden dart to shoot, however seeing the danger and with Diedrich's self proclaimed excellent throwing skills he threw a rock at it from afar directly aiming for its head forcing it to move and ending the skill.

Alex being the first to arrive immediately tried to strike the weasels, the weasel however easily dodged with its skinny body moving around the spear like a snake and retaliated. Diedrich seeing the danger was about to step in when he saw Alex suddenly perform an excellent block no doubt learned by the skill from his class.

The impact from the weasel however still made Alex fall backward, as the force was much stronger than a creature of that size should exert.

Before the weasel could attack the fallen Alex, Karla and Hans blocked its path both trying to pierce the weasel from its side. The weasel decided to dodge by jumping backward's, maybe it had made a mistake from feeling slightly sluggish or it just didn't realize however Ilsa was behind it, and seeing the opportunity she closed her eyes and pierced forward, and unfortunately for the weasel made impact.

"Eeekk!"

An agonizing scream escaped from the Weasel as it just realized it had been castrated. Karla but especially Diedrich, Hans, and Alex eye's widened in horror as they stared at the small round object attached to the tip of Ilsa's spear.

Opening her eye's Ilsa's first thought was that she had missed as she didn't really feel any impact, however seeing all the blood on the ground and hearing the weasels screech she began to shudder.

The weasel overcome by rage directed its focus on Ilsa and immediately pounced on her, the others still partly in shock didn't react in time and Diedrich being close by and seeing Ilsa also unreactive probably due to seeing blood for the first time made him sigh, as he stepped in.

Overcome by rage the weasel was completely focused on the one who had destroyed its family jewels and didn't notice Diedrich thrust with his spear. The spear pierced straight through its rib cage hitting its heart, giving it the quick death it deserved.

After the weasel died there was a short silence on the battlefield, which was broken by Hans as he decided to joyfully go up to Ilsa to give her a high five, while he said "That was brutal!".

Not in the right state of mind, Ilsa reacted by instinct and returned the high five, the sound waking her up from her shock as tears began to form in her eyes, seeing this the rest of the group looked at Hans and taught "Dumbass".

Diedrich asked Karla to comfort her, as she was the only other girl here, while Alex and he took Hans who didn't know what he had done wrong away to dissect the weasel.

Curious about the weasel Diedrich first inspected its status.

_____________________

Diedrich was slightly perplexed by the name as it turned out not to be a weasel, but the rest made sense, although this was the first time Diedrich saw a creature have three skills, except for wood creation the others seemed subpar, although hyper perception could be extremely useful the weasel hadn't been able to dodge Ilsa's spear, so he didn't think too much of it, and the bite skill was not even at rank one.

Diedrich then dissected the weasel while showing Hans and Alex how to do it themselfs, even though he wasn't an expert these last few day's had made him decent at it.

Taking out the soul core from its body and cleaning it, Diedrich walked over to Ilsa who by now had managed to calm down with the help of Karla.

"Here catch, this is your reward".

"Uh, Thanks Chief"

Momentarily flabbergasted that he was called chief, however remembering that he told them to call him that, he let it be.

Diedrich told her how to absorb the soul core, and she absorbed it instantly gaining 2 levels. When Diedrich looked at her status it had improved significantly.

It seemed her intelligence had the greatest gain while strength and constitution also increased greatly compared to Agility and EP, confirming Diedrich's suspicion that she was an artisan, as EP would definitely be increased to a higher degree for elementalist, while agility he guessed would be greatly increased for warriors.

Ilsa also felt incredibly refreshed and full of vigor, instantly wiping away her previous mood and making her excited for what was next.

For the next two hours they hunted and in the end killed 3 boars, 1 wolf, and two more weasels.

Diedrich only had to occasionally step in, however for the most part they worked well together, except for when the wolf suddenly showed up and turned out to be level 15 forcing Diedrich to step in, the fight was risky even for him, although it was worth it as it made him level up once.

The others had also each leveled up at least twice, which did little for them as they were rank one and seemed to only gain +1 in every stat with each level up.

Diedrich had created wooden sleighs on which the prey was being dragged, with Karla and Hans pulling one, Alex and Ilsa pulling the other and Diedrich easily pulling the last one.

When Diedrich came back to the village he was first met by the patrolling Jacob and Otto, who was one the new rank one warrior's along with Hans.

They were shocked when they saw the ferocious prey they had hunted, especially the wolf who was almost the same height as them.

Diedrich looked around at the camp and although the villagers were working, it seemed a bit inefficient and chaotic.

Seeing the expression on Diedrich's face Jacob realized what he must be thinking and explained.

"Although you each gave them tasks to do, you gave them no real plan and with you gone and no appointed leader or structure, the efficiency isn't the highest".

Realizing his mistake Diedrich nodded in acknowledgment, however with no one he saw fit to leave second in command for the village, he left it temporarily empty.

Diedrich felt the person must at least be rank one, while also not part of the spearmen troop who would often be outside of the village, otherwise it would create problems in the future, although he could appoint Ilsa, but from what he had seen today she didn't exactly scream leadership material to him with Karla and Alex seeming to better fit the description.

Diedrich then inspected the work that had been done and learned that only one log had been cut into usable pieces, a bit underwhelmed by the performance but seeing that the people working on the log were all sweaty and had worked hard, he decided to create three axes out of the Eutrepe wood hopefully speeding up the process.

He also created two more spears which he gave to Hans and Otto. The sapling of life had luckily already been watered although work on cutting the surrounding jungle hadn't progressed far with them currently having only cut down two trees.

Focusing on his prey for now that he had to prepare, Diedrich became surprised when one of the rank zeros came up to him seeing the dead animals, and told him he used to be an avid hunter and could dissect and collect all the usable parts from them.

Diedrich immediately pushed the task to the guy and told him that in the future he could do all the dissecting and in return not have to do the other menial tasks, making the man named Mark relieved as he could stop cutting logs all day.

Diedrich also asked if he was good at cooking to which he replied "I am decent but by no means an actual chef, so I would recommend finding someone else to do that".

Diedrich agreed and went around asking villagers if they were good at cooking to which a female on water collecting duty said she used to bake and cook a lot at home, finding the woman more experienced than any other person here, and asked her if she wanted to become the chef with similar terms to the guy who would dissect animals in the future.

She also happily agreed with Diedrich learning her name was Matilda, although she did remind him that they had no spices and the food wouldn't taste amazing without it, already knowing that Diedrich thought it was fine as he was just relieved he didn't have to cook for 15 people.

Diedrich then sent her off toward where Mark was and told her that if she needed any cooking utensils they would be in the storage facility otherwise she could see him.

With everything at the camp now in order and having put Karla and Alex as temporary second in command of the camp, Diedrich went back into the jungle this time alone for what he hoped would be a few levels, and a new treant this time hopefully made out of a rank 1 plant.
