Hidden Talent

Savant City Ling Clan Manor, Third Chaos Heaven

Ling Fan opened her big doe-like brown eyes and sat up. Looking about, she found herself in a chamber. Near the entry stood a refined middle-aged man. With hands crossed behind his back, he talked to two servants.

One servant caught sight of her and yelled, "Master! Young Miss has awakened."

"Eh!" Exclaimed the middle-aged man. With a swoosh, he rushed over and said, "Fan'er, Father is here...Do-Do you remember what happened?"

With a slight frown, she asked, "You're my father?"

Suddenly, Ling Fan clutched her head in pain...Memories upon memories clashed together in her head.

I am Ling Fan...I am Reina Troy…I'm 28 year old. I am 6 years old.

As the memories clashed, they exploded into particles of light. Seamlessly, the bright memory particles merged and an internal world opened up. Two females stood back to back, one older and the other a little girl. Slowly, they turned to face other.

"Big Sis," said Ling Fan, burying her face into Reina's stomach. Uncontrollably, the little girl started crying. "Big Sis, Ling Fan has died...evil doers killed my Mother and I."

A scene unfolded of Ling Fan and an elegant middle-aged woman sitting in a carriage screaming. The door opened and two spears thrust forward. The woman attempted to push Ling Fan aside, but a spear punctured both their bodies."

"You want me to take revenge? Is there anything else you want me to do." said Reina softly.

"Don't tell my...Sob-Sob...Daddy..I died. Now, he has no one else. Will you take care of my Daddy for me?"

Reina Troy lowered to her knees and touched her forehead to Ling Fan's. Brilliant watery blue eyes stared into the depths of Ling's soft-brown eyes. "I swear on my soul, I'll annihilate the ones that took your mother's life. Little sister, I'll take care of our father well."

Both women stared at each for several moments, until Reina softly whispered, "In our next life let us be real sisters, okay?"

"Mhm."

Reina's form slowly merged into Ling Fan's form.

In the outside world, Ling Fan's shuddered. Looking at her dainty hands…

Sh*t I f*cking transmigrated.

"Fan'er!"

"F-Father, daughter wants to rest.."

"Beloved child, does your head hurt? What about your chest wound?"

"Father my-my head feels woozy...daughter's sleepy."

Ling Fan collapsed onto the bed and pretended to faint. To make it more realistic she faked snored.

Ling Ming, jolted in surprise. Turning to a maid, he asked, "Has my Fan'er always snored?"

"This?"

The maid was about to respond, when Ling Ming interrupted, "No matter! Hurry and call a healer!"

"Yes Master!" responded the maid, slightly bowing and then rushing out the door.

As Ling Fan continued to pretend snore, her father paced back from one end of the chamber to the other. Suddenly he roared, "BAH! Is it me? Or is it F*cking taking too long?" With his impatience exploding, Ling Min swooshed out of the room.

With a sigh of relief, Ling Fan sat up.

In the far corner she saw a large bronze mirror and ran forward. For a long time, she stood dumbfounded as she evaluated her new body.

6 year old Ling Fan was a very adorable little girl. If she had grown up, her big brown-eyes would certainly kill male hearts left and right.

She sighed unable to believe, she Reina Troy, Leader of Neon City's Trident Gang, actually transmigrated. On Bright Star world, transmigration was an unproven but common myth. What her 28 year old self could not believe, was that she had died as well. Reina Troy was now living proof that the old myth was true.

What was she going to do with herself now?

The image of Ling Fan's sobbing face appeared in her mind. Abruptly she smacked her fist into her palm and cracked her knuckles.

"I Reina Troy, will now be Ling Fan. I will investigate Mother's death. I will seek vengeance."

"Little..who is Reina Troy, is that your previous self?" asked a small demure voice.

"Who??" blurted Ling Fan, immediately raising her dainty fists into a fighting stance.

From the other room paddled out a pig with a bow, tied about its ear. "This Queen is the one who transmigrated you here."

"What! You?? How's that possible?"

"I'm the Divine Pig reincarnated. In Bright Star World, you may know me as a sign of the zodiac."

Ling Fan sauntered over and lowered to her ankles to peer curiously at the white albino pig. Poking it, she asked, "You can talk?"

"Only to you since I'm the one that called your soul here."

"You-you called my soul here?"

"When I was reincarnated into the Nine Chaos Heavens, Little Fan saved my life. To repay my debt, I fulfilled her last dying wish.."

"..To not leave her father alone...to get vengeance for her mother."

"Mhm. Regrettably, I couldn't save her life. However, I'm holding her soul. I'm hoping their will be an opportunity for reincarnation."

"You-you can do that?"

"Humph! Am I not the Divine Pig? Am I not a Queen of the Cosmos?" Suddenly, the pig's stomach grumbled. "Ahh...I'm so hungry. I forgot...this is why I actually came out. You..feed me."

Ling Fan's eyes narrowed, "I don't know if I appreciate being transmigrated. I'm thinking, it would be nice to have bacon for dinner."

To Ling Fan's astonishment, the Divine Pig started floating. "You really want to test the might of a Queen of the Cosmos? Is this how you repay someone who gave you a new life?"

Falling back onto her buns, Ling Fan squealed, "You-you can fly?"

"Mhm...this Queen can do much-much more than just fly."

Realizing she kicked an iron plate, Ling Fan's face blackened. Turning her face, she asked, "What do you like to eat?"

"I don't care...just bring me a lot of food."

About an hour later, Ling Ming returned with a healer. To his surprise, he found Ling Fan stuffing a bun into her mouth. Beside her, was Zhu Shensheng sleeping on her side snoring happily. They were surrounded by several empty plates of food.

"Daughter, you're awake!"

"Daddy, Daughter woke up awhile ago and was hungry."

"Temple Vice Master Jun, maybe I asked you over needlessly," said, Ling Ming. "Not even an hour ago she fainted."

"If you'll allow me, I should check her condition to ensure there are no lingering concerns."

"Daddy, no need. Daughter is fine, look," said Ling Fan. Jumping to her feet, she ran about the room endlessly."

Ling Ming took out a heavy money pouch and handed it over to Temple Vice Master Jun. "I apologize for asking you over. As you can see, my beloved daughter appears more than healthy. Please accept this as my Ling Clan's contribution to the Temple."

"What matters is that the Ling Clan's Young Miss is healthy. Should you require anything, feel free to ask again. The Temple Grandmaster will be sure to ask for Ling Clan's good fortune in this weeks prayers."

"Vice Master Jun, allow me to escort you back."

The two left and Ling Fan quickly shot a look at Zhu Shensheng.

"You think I can't feel you looking at me. You should know, right now your soul is too weak. I'm using my own soul to anchor you here. If anything happens to this Queen, you'll die."

Gritting her teeth, Ling Fan looked away.

"Humph! I can hear your teeth grinding as well. Instead of huffing about, you should be thinking about how to get stronger. How to make my soul stronger?...How to get revenge?...Such questions you should be asking."

Zhu Shensheng's body floated up and turned upright. Slowly, she hovered before Ling Fan. Snorting, she said, "Well have you thought about it?"

"I'll investigate slowly. I'll train in the martial arts I used to know, then I'll kill the bastards without them knowing it."

"Follow me," said Shensheng, lowering to her four feet. "You don't realize yet what kind of place the Chaos Nine Heavens is. More specifically, we are in the Third Chaos Heaven in Savant City. Let's go take a look at the Ling Clan's training grounds."

As Shensheng waddled out, the Divine Pig let out a load fart. As Ling Fan was closely following, her face turned green with disgust and she desperately tried to spat the foul air.

"Ugh—eeeW! I can taste it!"

"Humph! Now you see what this Queen can do? If you don't hurry up, I'll give you another present."

Soon they reached the training grounds. Ling Fan stood stumped, her mouth stuck in a giant O as drool dripped endlessly.

"Shadow Star Fist!"

"Blazing Demonic Sword!"

"Vanishing Steps!"

"Mountain Crushing Palm!"

With auras fully unleashed and the might of techniques exploding, several guards were vigorously sparring. In addition, in her eyes, she could barely track blurs..they were simply too fast.

Near the center of field, a giant of man roared, "Diamond Body!" An axe struck square into his chest and shattered into pieces.

"Your Bright Star World is one of mortals that is greatly influenced by the Dao of Science...This Nine Chaos Heavens is a completely different dimension. Here cultivators reign supreme...in Bright Star World, these Ling Clan guards would be like gods. Humph! Here they are the bottom feeders barely Marital Adepts," said Shensheng.

"I-I thought it would be simple...All I would need was time to train and develop into how I was. Sigh...I'm like the frog at the bottom of a well. What-What do I do now?"

"Now that you know where you stand, how do you normally confront such a situation?"

"If it was unknown gang, I would research everything about them...their weaknesses and strengths. Then I would crush them with overwhelming strength. But now, I know nothing...I-I have no strength."

Snorting, the Divine Pig said, "This here is Savant City—this is home to the Savants, the greatest keepers of knowledge in the Nine Chaos Heavens. Doesn't this mean they house the greatest of all libraries?"

Ling Fan little head perked up with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "The things I don't, I just need to study at the library."

"Mhm."

"Zhu Shensheng, in the Nine Chaos Heavens, how does one gain strength?"

"Little girl, you finally using your head. The key to becoming strong is learning to cultivate."

"Cultivate? What exactly is that?"

"Humans are born with meridians and dantian that allow them cultivate...this means gathering the energy about you, storing it in your dantian. This energy, as you cultivate you use it to temper your meridians and body. As you do so you body and energy capacity grows stronger."

"Is that why that ax shattered against that man's chest?"

"That's a grade 2 black steel ax. Weapons grade 2 and below and cannot harm a Martial Master."

"Why can't he just use a grade 3 weapon?"

"The difference between Martial Adepts and Masters is too great. If you had a fist-sized rock, a martial master would be a boulder. Martial Adepts simply don't have the strength and power to use grade 3 weapons."

"How does one start to cultivate?"

"We have to find you a cultivation technique. We should ask your father as you are rather special?"

Startled, Ling Fan peered down at the Pig. "Special?"

Shensheng peered far into the depths of the heavens. "Mhm. Do you think I can just transmigrate anyone? There are certain rules. In addition, I wouldn't just bring a mere mortal over. You...you are the reincarnation of someone originally from the Nine Chaos Heavens. This is a rule, I can only bring across native souls."

Ling Fan gasped, "People would talk about reincarnation, but like transmigration...it could never be proven."

"You're original background is extremely mysterious. For your soul to be sent to another dimension...it was like your original self was hiding. However, the real reason I brought you over was that there is resonance between us. Since you are a mortal you talent is hidden. However, as you cultivate your talent will be slowly unraveled like an onion. With your mysterious background and the fact that there is resonance, my instinct says you are are actually a hidden talent."

"Are you saying I could be a cultivator genius?"

"Most likely...so we will have a probationary period?"

Ling Fan's face blackened. There were some keywords that were taboo in Reina Troy's heart...probation, jail and imprisonment.

"I will watch you cultivate up from Martial Initiate to Martial King. Should it prove that you are a genius, then this Queen of the Cosmos will accept you as disciple. I will guide you by laying down optional paths for cultivation. How you choose...What you decide...How well you cultivate...The growth of your character...The amount of luck you have...these will be determining factors."

"Why, why can't you just accept me now...wouldn't it better to raise one from the ground up?" asked Ling Fan.

"Martial King is the minimum level to learn from this Queen of the Cosmos. If you are not able, even the lowest of my cultivation techniques will cause you to explode. In fact reaching Martial King should be your initial go. Those killers of Ling Fan and her mother were Martial Masters. You will need the strength of a Martial King to completely suppress those murderers."

"So we must ask my father for a cultivation technique because you are unable to provide one?"

"Mhm. But more so because you are two people in one...two souls...two times the quality of your meridians...and twice the capacity of a dantian. The chances of you triggering a hidden bloodline clan inheritance is 80 percent. Thus, we will ask for a clan cultivation technique."

"Then-then, let's go look for my father," blurted Ling Fan.

Seeing the young girls was about to rush away, Shensheng said, "Little girl, this Queen needs to inform you of something...and you need to make a decision on whether to continue."

Ling Fan puckered her lips, a pit of dread feeling her stomach.

"Relax is nothing bad...however, you should know you're not my first choice for a disciple. In the manor next door, a rare super genius has appeared. If you cannot prove yourself to me...this Queen can only choose him."

"This? How-How do you know?"

"There are things that only higher beings can see and calculate. Upon my arrival to Ling Clan, I first noticed a unfathomable cloud of luck above that manor. This signifies the existence of a unprecedented genius."

"Bullsh*t. I'm a hidden talent, how can that compare to me," blurted Ling Fan.

"Humph! If your luck is a pebble...his is like a lake."

"F*ck!"

Shensheng chuckled.

Ling Fan smashed a fist into her palm. Cracking her knuckles, she said, "Kekeek! I'll have to make him disappear."

"Little Girl, of course you can do that….however, it'll be a mark against your character."

A vein protruded from Ling Fan's little forehead in frustration. "Are-Are you saying I have to compete with him fairly?"

"Mhm."

"This? Is this the decision I have to make?"

"Mhm."

Ling Fan's figure huffed about with clenched fists.

Big Sis, Ling Fan has died.

Don't leave my Daddy alone.

In our next lives, let us be real sisters.

"You want a decision...I'll give you one! This woman will show you what true talent is!" roared, Ling Fan.

Unbeknownst to the pair, the Ling Clan guards had stopped sparring long ago. Now, more than a dozen pair of eyes were locked on the two.

The giant of man, strode forward. "Young-Young Miss, you're here. Is there something, this one can help you with?"

Snapping, Ling Fan commanded, "You-you take me to my father! I want to cultivate!"
