Chapter 38: Shadow of White

"Alert the others, a massive search will be launched along the river," Cloud said to the man behind him as he looked down the cliff. "Where does he get the courage?"

The cliff wasn't too high for him to jump, but the smoke obscured the basin below him, and that's what held him back.

Declan started to run towards the cliff, and just as he was about to jump, the hot wind hit him in the face and took his breath away. His back was covered in sweat and his face was white. He didn't even have the courage to look down, let alone jump that far.

Alexander felt excruciating pain as he hit an invisible wall. It was as if he had jumped on rocks, not water. Even his closed wounds had opened up because of it.

But there were good things too.

He hadn't lost consciousness and the water in the area where he jumped was deep enough. If he had fallen back a little further, he would have turned into a sieve.

Alexander endured the pain and tried to control the bleeding with his last remaining inner energy. Then he started his journey using the current. After a long time he stopped and came out of the water, although it is not clear how far he went.

When he came out, his body was blue, his wounds were blistered and for some unknown reason, his body had turned white. Alexander could feel the cold breath of death. He looked around, too far ahead to realize where he was. Mount Heaven was no longer visible.

The downside was that it was in a forest.

The smell of blood seeping from his body would draw the monsters to him. If he didn't find a safe place, he would surely die.

Once on land, Alexander set aside the cargo he had been carrying, took out what he needed and took control of his situation. Then, without wasting time, he started moving forward. He could not rest now.

First he had to protect himself and then he had to gather his energy. It was a miracle that he made it this far with these wounds.

Alexander made his way through the forest and finally managed to find a small cave. After deciding that it had no owner, he placed his belongings and disguised his scent with plants. All the while he made sure that he left no trace behind.

The events of the last few days were too much, even for someone like Alexander. The loss of a friend he valued even more than himself, the mind-numbing pursuit and the life-and-death battles had worn him down. After consuming the precious medicines he had stolen from the cathedral, he changed his bandages and slept, clutching his sword.

"You're the only one who made it this far. We are so close to destroying the Black Sun, ####!"

A beautiful woman in white robes sat on the floor, her seductive legs out of her skirt and her magic wand in her hand. Her light blue eyes were so beautiful that they seemed to hold a world within them.

"Let's get moving."

She got up from the floor and reached out her hand. #### he reached out his hand and took her beautiful hand. Then the two of them started to move forward together. They left the area they were in and came to a large, dark pit hidden in the middle of the sea of sand.

When the white-robed woman reached the bottom of the pit, she turned around.

"The Black Sun is not so easy to destroy. This dark pit, also known as Abyss, holds the key to our final destination."

The pit was as dark as space itself. #### looking into it, he couldn't help feeling uneasy. Even the white-robed woman was afraid to get too close to the pit.

"Ah, heir of time... you came the wrong way."

At that moment a dark-haired woman emerged from the pit. Her body was shrouded in darkness, and her eyes, though empty, had a vastness that drew those who looked into them. But the desire to kill was so strong that it didn't matter.

The white-robed woman hid behind ####'s.

The black-haired woman charged toward the robed woman, but her attack was stopped by the blood-red sword. After her attack failed, she tried to retreat, but unfortunately, her efforts were unanswered.

His head was separated from his body and his whole black body turned into black smoke.

Sometime after he left, a mischievous voice started to be heard. It was more like laughter. It sounded eerie because it sounded like a mixture of several voices.
