Chapter 52 - The Powerful Senior grants a favour.
The wyrm looked at the people who were coming out of the Blackhawk. It's yellow eyes shone with anticipation.
Emilia quickly got on guard and held her sword in front of her. But due to the last attack of hers, the sword and the arm9ur were damaged leaving behind only her underwear which was not even enough to cover all of her private parts.
"Shit!" Emilia cursed under her breath. She thought that she could escape but who could've known that the wyrm would be so desperate that it would sacrifice so much of its energy to release an Earth pulse and devastated everything in its path.
The Earth Wyrm looked at the bunch of people who got off the aircraft and started coming near them. Emilia tried to circulate her essence to put up some resistance but she was too weak.
While the others had energy, the pressure was enough to crush the inexperienced and weak students into their knees. Of course Xavier was not under any pressure because he had the dragon inheritance and he was innately immune to all types of pressure from higher cultivators.
The wyrm brought its head near Emilia since she was standing in the front. It smelled her a few times, its snot spraying all over Emilia. Emilia was disgusted but was under such pressure that she didn't even have the luxury to express herself.
After a few moments, the wyrm's eyes narrowed and it turned away. Then it turned to look at Xavier. It could sense that among all the people here, other than the Martial Lords, it was Xavier and Sheila who had the highest battle power. As both of them were standing close together, it came and sniffed the both of them.
But unlike how it just worked Emilia for a few moments, it sniffed both Xavier and Sheila for five whole minutes each before it went off in another direction. Like Emilia, both Xavier and Sheila were converted in its snot from head to toe.
It then searched Melissa Snow. Then it went to Reginald and Roger who were staying close, along with the other man from the Wade family. When it came near them, it's eyes shrunk. It looked at the three of them and it roared, the pressure it emitted became 10 times more and it crashed like a tsunami ontu the three people of the Wade family.
Reginald, who was at the front, was pressured so hard that he immediately fell flat on the ground, his back facing up. Roger on the other hand fainted immediately white the third man kneeled down trembling.
The wyrm sniffed each of them carefully. Reginald was fine but when the he wyrm sniffed Roger, while he was unconscious, Ruger was so scared that his bladder and bowels didn't hold on and he peed and pooped in his pants.
Immediately, a pungent smell hit the noses of everyone near him. It hit the wyrm, which was closer to him as he had the most acute sense of smell the hardest and the wyrm couldn't take it.
It raised its head as he roared in annoyance and anger. It breathed with force as the power of its breath directly blasted away Roger into the forest which was hundreds of metres away.
The rest of the people immediately cringed audibly as they heard the splashed of poop coming out when Roger was rolling towards the forest.
While the wyrm was irritated, the third man get the Wade family immediately made a run for the forest. The wyrm, which was distracted, noticed this immediately and roared in rage. It pounced at that man and surrounded him with its huge body.
It looked at the trembling man within its grasp and looked at him with its big yellow eyes. The man was trembling in fear. He stuttered," Please spare me! Please! I have what you want. It.. it's here...wi..with me...I'll give it to you so please spare me "
The man was facing so much pressure that he was going to have a mental breakdown.
He put his hand in his pocket as he took out a black box. This box was about 5 inches in each side and it had numerous patterns which emitted an ethereal light from time to time. One could also see minor fluctuations in the space around it.
The man opened the box with his trembling hands. Inside the box, there was a crystal. It was one of the most beautiful thing anybody could have ever seen. The wyrm's eyes shone brightly as it laid its eyes on the crystal. It extends its long snake like tongue and picked up the crystal.
The crystal was like a diamond. In the sunlight, it was shining with a rainbow brilliance. Surrounding the diamond was a mist which was also shining with rainbow colours. The wyrm looked at the crystal with greed in its eyes but immediately its eyes dimmed. It one that this crystal was not for it but for someone else.
It suddenly got angry. It had searched for this piece of crystal for half a month and finally found it but to its surprise, the crystal was in human territory. While the humans were weak, they still had the ability to harm it. So it planned a surprise attack to take the crystal but during the last moment, it remembered that this crystal was not for it, instead it was for that member of its clan which was about to be born.
The wyrm got frustrated and roared at the skies in anger. It looked at the man who was in the middle of its coils, trembling and suddenly…
Splash..
It tightened it's body and the man was crushed like a ripe tomato.
It then looked at the remaining people and roared again. A runic circle formed around its head and spikes of rock came firing at Xavier and the group.
Emilia reacted immediately and shouted," Everyone be careful. Put your defenses up and run!"
Everybody started running. Emilia, Xavier and Sheila ran in the same direction. The snot which the wyrm had showered them with was slightly corrosive and it has melted off the clothes off all the people. Now, all of them were streaking.
Behind them, with be it rock spikes clashing with the ground were heard along with the shouts of despair of the people who Xavier had saved.
Xavier looked at them and agreed," System, why were they dying? Isn't their luck supposed to be good? You approved of them and told me that they had sufficient karma after all."
[They had sufficient karma before they met you, host but it was not enough to keep them safe after it has been absorbed by you.]
'I took their karma?! What are you talking about System?'
[The mission was for you to gather karma. Gathering karma works only when the one from whom you gather will have the potential to fulfill the karma you sow. For example, the hist selected the wolf, Sheila and Emile, all of them have enough karma to withstand the effects, even some others do as well but most of the people who you rescued don't have karma to live any longer. By Saving them, you just postponed their deaths but as a result of this postponement, they had to pay the price of their karma being plundered, not only from this life but also from the next.]
'You didn't tell me all of this? What will happen to them in their next lives then?'
[They will likely suffer a little but it's not too much of a worry as they died soon after so only a minute amount of their karma has been plundered.]
Xavier nodded and made up his mind to note this point in the future. His thoughts were interrupted by a scream of another person who was slaughtered by the wyrm.
It seemed to be taking its time killing each person slowly. Or else, if it were to attack with all its might, they may already be human puree in its jaws.
'System, is there any way to escape this predicament?'
[Host, you still have 6 favours to ask from the very powerful senior. Maybe you can ask him for help.]
Xavier's eyes lit up. Yes! He could ask that senior for help. The system had said that he would get 3 favours for every major cultivation level. Now, Xavier was a Martial Master. He had 6 favours to ask for.

As soon as the System's words rung, a blinding aura shot out from the depths of the forest. It was around 30 kilometres from the city and its aura spread rapidly.
The wyrm, which was enjoyings its rampage froze in its track and saw the light. It's pupils constricted and it roared joyously. It left everything back and ran towards the beam of light.
Meanwhile, the people who were on the escape were stunned by the sudden turn of events. Xavier, being the only one who knew the reason for this current state, shouted," Guys, quickly escape!"
Everybody came back to their senses. Emilia soon ordered," Everyone, go rescue whoever is alive and get into the Blackhawk. Even though the warp engine is damaged, it can still fly. Get up quickly. We don't know when the beast will return. We must make a quick escape for us to survive."
