1 A Day With The Tempest Siblings

[YOU ARE THE ONE... YOU WHO HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO BE THE NEXT GENERATION'S HERO THAT WILL CARRY ON THE LEGACY OF THE PREVIOUS...!]

– Who...? Who are you?

Within a blank, white expanse, a silhouette emerged from shifting clouds, a form both enigmatic and tangible. It's melodic echoing voice pointing towards the boy floating within.

The subtle flashes of light within the clouds outlines the enigmatic silhouette, creating a mystical aura in the undefined expanse.

[YOU WILL BE ENTRUSTED THE RESPONSIBILITY OF AN ENTIRE WORLD AND TO CARRY OUT THE TORCH OF THE PREVIOUS... AS FOR ABSOLUTE POWER, SOME SACRIFICES MUST BE MADE!]

The boy responded immediately without a shroud of hesitation,

– ...I would love to take your offer... But I refuse! Because I...

"I uh... I hah (Have)... Repohiviviti heyr ah weeh (Responsibility Here As Well)..." The boy, murmuring.

[UH... WHAT KIND OF RESPONSIBILITY? OH! ARE YOU PERHAPS TALKING ABOUT...]

°°°

At that moment, his sister arrived at the doorstep. She entered the room, approached him, then shook him to rouse him from sleep.

"Rise and shine sleepyhead, it's already past 7! If you don't move your butt now, you'll be late for school..." She urged, while still shaking him, "Come on... WAKE UP!"

He slowly moved his body but still murmuring as he was still in that suspicious dream and suddenly yelled, "I HAVE A SISTER HERE TO CARE FOR...!"

He opened his eyes immediately after saying that.

She blushed, her cheeks turning a rosy hue after hearing him aloud.

"...Wha—What??? What are you saying you idiot!?" Still blushing as she asked with her voice tinted with shyness.

"Huh? What time is it?" He mumbled in a sleepy daze while his hand, searching for his smartphone, inadvertently touched her left breast.

"WHAH...!?" His sudden touch left Maya completely stunned and flustered.

As he pondered,

– What the hell? How did my damned phone became this soft and round all of a sudden???

Still squeezing it as he was confused but soon realizes that it's not the phone but a very bad situation!

"OH NO! Maya?" His eyes opens widely as he realizes. But at that point, it was already to late!

"Y—you... You... YOU... PERVERT!!" She slaps him hard on the face to the point of getting swollen cheek. "Why did I even bothered to wake this pervert up today! Humph!"

As she turned to leave, he quickly sat up and spoke, "I DIDN'T DO IT ON..." She stormed out and slammed the door. "...purposeee... And she's gone!"

"Dammit!" He facepalmed, "Ouch!" but quickly withdrew due to the swollen cheek.

"Ugh, seriously what time is it?" He grabbed his smartphone, turned on it's screen and screamed, "WHAT?? IT'S ALREADY PAST 7?" he again facepalmed, "OUCH... Motherf...!" To withdrew immediately yet again.

While pondering, looking concerned,

– How come I slept this long? These stupid dreams, doing nothing but make my life more difficult. Damn it! I haven't yet started to make breakfast!

He rushed downstairs, and immediately opened the door to the kitchen and left stunned.

"WOAH!" With an annoyed tone, Maya says, "You startled me, you per—huh? What's with the surprised look?"

He was amazed by the sight of Maya preparing breakfast.

It wasn't that Maya cooking a first, but, "It's a rare sight to see you cooking!" He stated, standing still.

His words got Maya offended and she yelled, "WHAT?? EXCUSE ME? It's not like I don't cook around the house—HEY! Where are you going?"

"You do, but just like I said, it's a rare sight..." He uttered those words, while swiftly closing the door to the kitchen.

She pouted, shouting, "HMPH... YOU BIG DUMMYYYYYY!!"

He swiftly freshen up and got ready wearing his school uniform consisting of a formal grey suit featuring white piping along the blazer edges and pockets with a sharp white shirt beneath.

The black tie, embellished with diagonal white stripes, provides a timeless contrast. Complemented by matching grey pants and clean white sneakers, offering a casual yet stylish flair.

°°°

Upon re-entering the kitchen, he immediately sat down before the prepared table and began to chow down.

Watching him like this, Maya couldn't help but ask, "H—how is it? How's the food?"

With a mouthful, he uttered, "Du wii afe tha taeme thu tok aigt naw? (Do we have the time to talk right now?)"

Maya pouted upon hearing his response. But then, after gulping down, he continued, "Can't you see I'm enjoying the food? So it's bound to be good, no?" he took another bite right after.

His answer this time, made Maya blush and she sneakily smiled.

°°°

As Maya got ready to head for school, wearing her school uniform consisting of a grey pleated skirt and a matching blazer with white trimming along with clean white shirt underneath.

It's complemented by a geometric patterned tie, predominantly in black and white, and white sneakers.

She shouted, standing beside the main door, "Before you leave, make sure to lock the doors properly, okay? Don't let it be like yesterday..."

"ey! I onh mek tha shem (Ey! I won't make the same)" He gulped the food, "mistake twice, all right!"

She squished her eyes, giving a look full of doubt after hearing that, "Fine, but don't you forget it!" with that, she left.

Ewaan swiftly finished his meal, washed the dishes, checked the windows and locked both doors, then dashed off.

°°°

Ewaan Tempest, an ordinary high school student with striking white hair and enigmatic violet eyes.

Despite his reserved and seemingly cold demeanor, beneath the surface lies a kindred soul. While his handsome appearance turns heads, his aloof nature keeps him indefinitely single.

Yet, he remains indifferent to romantic pursuits, prioritizing his inner world above all else.

Maya Tempest, Ewaan's younger step-sister, is just half a year younger than him.

Her shiny sky-blue hair and seemingly matching eyes reflect her vibrant spirit and youthful energy.

At the early age of 7, he lost his mother to an illness and only 4 years after, his father remarried, thinking of his motherless child, but instead, it scarred him deeply!

Just as Ewaan began to embrace this newfound family, tragedy stroked again in the form of an unexpected plane crash, leaving him and Maya orphaned.

This incident made his already shadowed spirit to sink even deeper...

From that onward, he became cold and distant to all who approaches him but some who he cares deeply for, his step-sister Maya, and two childhood friends.

With them still being minors, they got assigned a guardian, Maya's aunt, but her visits sparse due to a demanding work schedule.

Leaving Ewaan and Maya alone in their big house, as they finds comfort on each other, her absence doesn't bother them at all.

°°°

"Haah... Hahh... Haah..." He gasped for air, his weary legs pounding against the road as he approaching the school.

His exhaustion evident in every labored breath.

– Damn it! Hope the school gate hasn't closed yet...
