"How I Met Your Mother, huh. Cool. Timeline-wise, I should be right before Robin and Barney get engaged if I remember correctly. The mom dies of an illness so I can probably save her, but I would have to wait a while. It's the tail end of 2012 right now, and they don't meet until Barney and Robin's wedding next year. Then, they don't know she has an illness for a few years.

I should have a reputation as a doctor by then so hopefully, I'll see them come to me for help. I could also meet them beforehand and establish myself as a genius doctor so they come right to me from the beginning. Or I can come up with some excuse as to why the mom should get a health check-up. Well, not much I can do for now unless I bump into one of them on the street.

I am going to go walk around the city, why not check out the GNB building while I'm out. Who knows, maybe I'll run into Ted there?"

Now that the GNB commercial was over, I started to watch television for a bit, and then I dozed off to sleep.

"Hmm, where am I? Oh right, hotel in New York. That's enough of that, let's go explore the concrete jungle that is New York."

I turned off the television and went to wash up in the bathroom real quick before I made my way out onto the streets of New York.

I went to see all the touristy things. Time Square, Empire State Building, 9/11 Memorial, Statue of Liberty, etc. It was quite interesting if I'm being honest. Seeing these things up close is much different than seeing them through a screen.

After all that, I decided to go see the GNB building up close. I have to say Ted did a good job designing it. I mean it's definitely not my favorite building, but it's a nice building. And as luck would have it, I ran into the main man himself, Ted Mosby.

'Jesus, I really did merge with animes huh? This plot armor is crazy. Give me money, please.'

"Nice building huh?" he said to me.

"Yeah, it's nice. It's daring yet refined." I answered quoting his words.

"Right, right! So you like architecture huh kid?"

"Meh, not that much. I've read up on it a bit when I was in med school, but never anything too extensive." I responded hoping he would get the hint I dropped.

"Wait, did you say med school? How old are you?"

"18."

"And you went to med school? Oh, it was a joke. Haha. Good one, you almost got me."

"I wasn't joking. Harvard Class of '09, Matt Garetty."

At that, he pulled out his phone and searched for my name followed by Harvard. Scrolling through his phone for a minute, he then looked at me and back at his phone a few times with an open jaw.

"Holy hell, you weren't kidding. You're a genius." he said staring at me in awe.

"Well, I don't like to use that word, but yeah. And you are?"

"Oh right, Ted Mosby."

"Ted Mosby? As in the architect of the GNB building Ted Mosby?"

"That's me. Youngest architect to break ground in New York City. Although I guess compared to you it's not that great." he said feeling unsure of himself.

"Hey, that's impressive in its own way. Not everyone is lucky enough to dance with a lady like New York."

"Whoa." he said with a look of remembrance.

"Something wrong?"

"No, I've been told that by someone before, that's all."

"Oh, talk about coincidence." I said before looking at the time. "Well, it's getting late, I should be going." At that, I took out a business card my mom had made when I passed my board certifications. "Here, call me if you ever need the help of a doctor."

"Thanks, I wish I had one of mine on me." he said patting his pockets for a spare.

"Forget it, it's fine. Besides, I know where to find you." I said pointing at the building while walking away.

'Ted Mosby. Well, this way I can do something when his wife gets sick. I mean if a genius doctor personally gives you his card, there's no way you wouldn't call him, right?'

At that point, it was getting pretty late so I decided to go back to the hotel after grabbing a pie of New York-style pizza, and rest up for tomorrow's conference.

Staring at the cityscape at night while eating some pizza. I could've never imagined living a life like this before. Boy did the DGC change everything. I'm actually happy I can do something meaningful in this life.

Amelia: Woohoo! Finally, I've been waiting for this. I wonder what world we're going to?

Yoruichi: I hope it's not too difficult.

Ciri: Indeed, I hope it's something we can handle.

Uzui: I want to fight something!

Guts: I would like to test my strength as well.

Amelia: Don't forget we're finally going to meet each other in real life. I'm so excited!

Ciri: Indeed, I don't have many people I can call friends. I am excited as well.

Yoruichi: Aww, isn't that precious.

Matt: I wonder if time will be stopped in our respective worlds?

Amelia: Phew, that's good. At least we won't have to come up with a reason for our disappearance.

Yoruichi: Yes, that would be tiring.

Matt: Okay, how about we all prepare whatever we may need, and in an hour we can start the mission?

Matt: Good, see you all then.

"Okay, I don't need to take any weapons, but I do need to take some clothes, food, and water."
