'What the hell! Alice. Were you there the whole time?'

[No Rai. I just got through to you. There's something here that was blocking me from speaking with you. Now the restriction seems to have been lifted.]

'Could the Raiju have been the one to do it? You know what forget it. There's no point thinking about this. For now I have to pass whatever test that it has in mind for me.'

[Ganbare. Rai.]

'First of all, I need to see what kind of talent you have with my element. So, here's the first test. I'll demonstrate a technique first. If you can perform the same to at least an acceptable level. You'd have passed the first test.'

"First Test? You mean there's more?" – Rai

'Duh. Isn't that what I just said? Anyways here I go. You'd do well to watch closely. I'm only going to show you this once.'

The Raiju's size increased to that of an SUV's. It looks like a monstrous Tiger. Immediately afterwards, deep purple colored lightning exploded out of its body covering its entire body like a coat. The runic patterns on its body glowed even more brightly. It looked similar to Yoruichi's shunko technique from Bleach but seemed to be based purely on Lightning element. The creature glances at Rai and points towards the other side where a small hill stands. Rai glances towards the hill and looks back towards it. It disappeared in a flash, what followed was a blinding light followed by a tremor equivalent to an earthquake and a loud rumbling sound. Once the dust cleared, the hill was no more.

It was way too fast to see clearly. All Rai could see was a pruple light flicker from where the beast stood towards the hill. Nothing else. Rai stood there dumbfounded. How the hell was he supposed to do something like that? He couldn't even properly understand the kind of energy that was used to coat the body.

Before long he heard a voice that got him out of his thoughts.

'You saw that right? Now, it's your turn to use the same technique. It doesn't matter if you can't manage the same kind of destructiveness. What I want to see is the application of the skill.'

"Uhh. Did you even use any hand signs for this?" – Rai

'Huh. What do you mean hand signs? Do I look like I have hands to you? Are you mocking me brat?'

"That's not what I meant, where I'm from we use hand signs to channel and harness energy into the element that we need." – Rai

'That's just stupid. Do you have so much time in battle to be able to use signs before using a technique? Naturally, you'll have to be able to manipulate the lightning directly. At the very least you should be capable of doing this. You have 3 days. And the clock is ticking already.'

'Alice. Any ideas on what I can do here?'

[Sorry Rai. You'll just have to figure this out on your own.]

[But, I'll tell you this. You should be able to do this. Especially because this is the lightning element that we're talking about here. If you can't even do this much, you'll seriously be bringing shame to the Lightning Seed.]

Letting out a deep breath. Rai sits in a meditative position. He has to be able to manipulate pure lightning chakra first before he can start on using the technique to coat his body. On top of that, the technique itself is on another level. Not only does he have coat his body with lightning just like the Lightning Cloak technique that his father and grandfather expertise in. But, he should also be able to discharge the lightning energy surrounding him into one point which causes the explosion. At least, that is how he thinks it works.

Rai starts sensing the energy in his surroundings. He figured that the only way to achieve this would be through nature transformation technique that is the next step after shape manipulation technique. These two techniques are what Naruto uses in order to create his S rank technique, Rasenshuriken. He is not privy to the technique to train lightning element nature transformation.

For wind, it is by training the sharpness bu trying to cut leaves. Since, Wind is supposed to be the element which is supposed to be able to cut through anything. Rai can only infer that Lightning has something to do with speed and explosiveness.

But Kakashi's Raikiri is something that heavily uses lightning element in order to increase piercing damage. So should Rai focus on explosiveness or piercing power and how to go about with training this? From the Raiju's attack it is quite obvious that power is not something that the lightning element is lacking. So, maybe the element is extremely versatile in its uses and just requires the right application to get the desired results.

'Fuuu. There's no point despairing over this now. Baby steps. First let me try and control any sort of lightning.'

Rai sat there observing and feeling the energy in his surroundings. He can vaguely feel the presence of chakra. He attempts to gather the chakra within one hand. It starts to gather but it quickly dissipates to nothing. He tries and tries over and over again. But, it seems to fail every time. One time he got close to forming deformed a tennis ball sized mass of chakra but a slight lapse in concentration caused it to explode. Luckily, this was only a small size, so there was not much damage to him.

He quickly figures out that his chakra control is severely lacking. He looks at the status page to see Chakra Control stats and was surprised to see that it had already shot up to 42.3%. He was probably at it for close to 6 hours and already there is a significant increase in control stats. But upon thinking further, it does make sense. Rai was attempting to create a ball which is like a mini-rasengan and the rasengan is supposedly the apex of shape manipulation which requires a very high and precise chakra control.

He surmises that the higher the chakra control percentage, the higher the chances of completing the first step. This continued on for 12 more hours. His control percentage rose to 69%. Rai stopped attempting to create a ball of chakra and has instead been attempting to add an elemental nature to the chakra that he gathers around him.

The new skill prompt shows Rai that he is on the right track at least. Though it is a new skill, it being an E rank basically means that the amount he can manipulate is quite pitiful.

Rai now tries to identify the different elements in the surroundings. He is hoping that the existence of the lightning seed within him will allow for him to sense it. He knows that this is quite possibly the only way for him to pass this test. He continues to sit in a state of meditation and try to identify the elements. Rai sat there for almost an entire day before he felt a different kind of energy. Unlike the calm and shapeless nature of chakra, this energy felt more violent, a brutality that threatens to tear everything to shreds. Rai identifies that this is what he was striving to feel all this while, the lightning element.

Rai was ecstatic that he finally succeeded. It was possible after all. He has no doubt that the lightning seed is what was responsible for him to be able to succeed. He tries channelling lightning through his arms and he can see something like a Chidori around his forearm and hand but it dissipates just as quickly as it forms. Luckily, Rai does not have to worry about lightning damaging him since he has complete immunity towards the element. Otherwise he'd surely have charred his hand with his sloppy control.

But now, Rai can at least see the finish line. He has a little over a day to form the lightning cloak as well as to be able to channel all of that lightning into one location and discharge it to cause an explosion.
