Genbu

Genbu also known as Turtle Island is a gigantic and ancient turtle creature that lives in the land of lightning. It is described as a moving fortress whose size is so great, that it can host other large animals as well as other natural and man-made structures. Kumogakure has been taking care of Genbu ever since the founding of the village. This is also a sort of training ground for their shinobis. It is the equivalent of Konoha's Forest of Death. Uncle B has a vacation house here on the island after he befriended most of the beasts there. So, it was decided that he will accompany Rai to keep watch over him.

Rai was told to survive on the island for a period of 3 months. That was the test that he was given. He left along with Uncle B the next day and after a couple of days of travel by ship, they made it to the island. Rai was hoping to catch a glimpse of the giant squid creature that is supposedly guarding the Genbu. But, it did not make an appearance. Some high level barrier also has been placed on the island to detect intruders and to stop trespassing.

Uncle B took him to somewhere near the outskirts and told him. "You're on your own now, I'll be keeping a watch on you from time to time. I think with your skillset, you should be fine here. But never let down your guard and be careful the more you go towards the center. The chakra beasts get stronger the more you go in."

"Alright. I got it." – Rai

'Now that I need to survive here for 3 months. I'll need a place to sleep in. Also need to find a source of water and need to figure out if I can hunt for food here as well.'

Rai has brought enough dried meat rations to survive the 3 months, safely stashed away in his inventory but living off of those alone for 3 months will be unpleasant to say the least.

'Alice. There are loads of Chakra Beasts and wild animals here right? How much SP will I get from killing them?'

[That will entirely depend on how much Chakra they have.]

[The Genbu has Chakra beasts ranging from Genin level chakra all the way to Kage level. And the SP you'd get is the exact same as for the similar ranking shinobi's.]

'Doesn't that mean it's easier to kill these to farm points?'

[Not really. the shinobi's are more versatile in their techniques and possess intelligence, but the chakra beasts have a lot more vitality and their body will be a lot harder to damage. Also the beasts with higher chakra have also lived for a lot longer and possess intelligence. So don't take this lightly.]

'Why does everyone have to tell me that? Am I that unreliable?'

[No they say that because you're a greenhorn. You've never had a real fight in your life.]

Rai starts walking randomly to scope out the area and search for a place where he could stay the night. He wants to find a cave or something of the sort not too far away from a water source. That should be the ideal location. And so he started walking.

As Rai was looking around, he heard movement coming from the bushes in front of him. Rai put his observation Haki to the limit and readied a kunai in his hand. Instantly, a green snake shot out aiming for Rai's neck. Rai sidestepped and as he let the snake pass by him, he bisected the snake in two. This was the first time that he actually killed anything, he was ready for it. but what he did not expect was the blood splatter. His arm and chest was filled with sticky blue blood.

'Yuck. Now I need to clean myself up.'

'Hehe. I think I'll farm some SP here in these 3 months.'

'Hmm. This is what I wanted to do anyways. But, the penalty is harsh. But on the other hand, I'll get access to the dungeon. The benefits far outweigh the risk here. Accept it.'

'Let the hunt begin then.'

Rai advanced deeper into the forest slowly. After a while, Rai came across a pack of wolves. There were close to a dozen of them there with one bigger wolf looking over its pack.

'This will be hard, I don't think I can take on so many of them at a time. Maybe, if I can thin out the herd with an initial attack, I could be able to handle them. But, I'll need to take out at least 5 or 6 of them otherwise it'll be suicide.'

Rai quickly thinks of a plan and with his presence concealment active decides to try it out. He takes out his Nichirin sword, turns on his lightning cloak, leans forward and gets ready to strike.

'Ichi no kata: Hekireki Issen: Rokuren'

Rai dashes towards the most populated area and quickly decapitates a head, then he dashes again and again until he kills 6 of them in an instant. The moment he stops, he notices that the first head has just dropped to the floor. The pack of wolves were taken off guard. The Alpha quickly howls to stabilize the rest of the pack and gets them to attack Rai. But, now there are only 5 of them remaining including the pack Alpha.

Two wolves charge at him from the sides while one comes straight at him. Rai charges straight at the one in his front, he cannot allow for the wolves to surround him. He must finish this as quickly as possible. He quickly reaches the wolf and slashes at it, the wolf jumps out of the way but Rai was able to cut off one of its hind legs. Rai is happy with the result, as long as it's taken out of the fight for now, it's a good result.

The other 2 wolves are almost at him and the remaining pack member also seems to be waiting for its opportunity to sneak attack him. One of the wolves pounces at him slashing its forelegs wildly in order to cut him open. Rai steps into the attack range and tanks the hit with his cloak. The wolf was not able to breach his defense. Rai cuts off its head as well, then shunshins right behind other attacking wolf and pierces its head with his blade.

Now, the alpha of the pack also joins in along with its other minion. They try the same thing with one attacking and the other hanging back to attack his when he is open. Rai makes quick work of the minion only to see the alpha's jaws almost at his neck. He moves away quickly but the wolf left a nasty gash on his bicep.

'Tsk. My Lightning cloak is still not stable enough in all parts.'

Rai puts the sword back into his inventory and charges the lightning gauntlet. The wolf sensing the danger quickly lunges at Rai to stop him. But just when it reaches a couple of feet away from him, Rai clocked his arm back and swings. His arm goes through the beast's head like a knife going through butter and splatters it.

(I am changing the skill name. So the one where a laser like attack happens will be called Lightning Blast from now on and the lightning Gauntlet will be like Armament Haki with Lightning Coating around like an armor.)

Coming out of his trance, Rai looks at the surrounding blood and body parts around him and pukes his guts out. He may have resolved to be able to kill but the graphic scene in front of him was too much to take for someone like Rai. After collecting himself, he notices one of the wolves hobbling away to get away from here. Rai throws a Kunai and quickly kills it.

Rai was reasonably happy with his first real battle. But he knows that he can get better. These beasts were hardly Genin level with only the Pack Alpha reaching Chuunin level and even that almost broke through his defense. He has to be able to maintain the Cloak at all times and it has to be able to provide a stable defense to all parts.

'I have 3 months to figure this out. Things are going to get busy.'

He quickly bandages his arm and starts looking for other beasts to fight in the vicinity.
